I just want to see LTE somewhere in the general Metro/Milwaukee area in the near future. As long as it's within like a 10-15 min drive from Greenfield, that will be enough to hold me over for a while.

Ohhh man. This is getting good. I'll have to check out where the nearest towers around Southridge are and scope em out tomorrow.

I live right around Hwy100 and Beloit. The tower you're talking about is on 92nd street between Beloit and Oklahoma. It's right next to where I went to grade school! St. Matthias. There are two towers right next to each other, one of them has an AT&T sign on the gate, so I'm guessing it's the other one. I'll start going by there every few days or so and check for progress. That's probably the tower I'm connected to when I'm at home, so that would be good news.

haha. Yea, I'm not expecting big batches of LTE in the Milwaukee market quite yet. I'm guessing a few will trickle in here and there for the next few weeks at least, then we might start seeing handfuls per week.

Oh, I see in the other area Robert listed the locations... Darn! The first towers completed in the Milwaukee market are nowhere near the city of Milwaukee!

I'm so happy! I think I'm going to cry! I still don't see anything on the sites complete map though I'm guessing Robert just didn't have time last night or something. I'll be checking back often today!

Well, like Dkoellerwx said, I think it is encouraging to see that an LTE accepted site popped up in Northern Wisconsin. I'm sure Sprint is well aware of their data capacity issues. I bet the little cash bump from Softbank will give them the ability to speed up the process a little bit and maybe have more crews working at the same time. It's been a long wait for Milwaukee, but it'll be coming soon! And it will be worth it. I was like a little kid in a candy store when I went down to Chicago for a weekend recently and got to experience the LTE down there.

I'm in Milwaukee and yea, I put up with it because I'm on a family plan with something like a 20% discount. It's weird, depending on where you go around Milwaukee / Waukesha, sometimes you get farily decent speeds, like 500k even up to 1.5Mbps or so. But usually it's crawling at sub100k speeds. It's real frustrating when it takes like 5 min for the traffic info to pop up in google maps. I never have problems with texts or voice though. I know people with AT&T around milwaukee that get dropped calls all the time, but I never get that with Sprint. I've just been kept alive by the hopes that LTE will be here soon! But really, it comes down to the price, the unlimited data, and knowing that LTE will be here at some point in the future. That's why I've stayed with Sprint. Even though unlimited data doesn't help at this point with terrible speeds, I know I will be happy I have it once LTE rolls through.

I was in Chicago this last weekend with my Evo LTE and oh man, was it glorious! I just kept running speed test after speed test. I can't wait for that sweet sweet LTE goodness in Milwaukee.

Sweet! I'm getting real excited now! Sprint loves putting cell towers on rooftops in the Milwaukee market it seems. There's another one like that in Brookfield at goerkes corners.

Man, it's so discouraging to see pretty much every other market around Milwaukee getting work done and sites in progress, but not a blip in Milwaukee yet. Even Iowa has a bunch of work starting... IOWA. I'm pretty sure there are more farms than cell phones in Iowa (I lived there for a couple years and I lived across the street from a corn field)

I'm crossing my fingers that any week now we'll see a Milwaukee tower marked as "in progress" or 4g complete in the weekly update. I just got a second job where having LTE and a slightly stronger signal would greatly help!

Well... I wonder how they're going to approach the Milwaukee market. WIth ones like Chicago, they started on the outer edges and worked their way into the city... So I wonder if they would start way out on the western edge of the state and work through Madison, then Waukesha, then Milwaukee. I sure hope they just start right around Milwaukee and the suburbs. I live in Greenfield and work in Waukesha.

So excited! I was getting ehrpd yesterday too! Did it happen for the whole market? I did a speed test out in Waukesha, Brookfield, and then Greenfield and got ehrpd on all of them. (I took this screen shot today, so this is a speed test from yesterday)

Sweet! I'm glad to see something happening in the Milwaukee market, even if it is out by Madison. I'm guessing the next "Evo" phone will be out by the time LTE rolls around to the Milwaukee area so I won't even have to worry about the LTE connection issues with the Evo LTE. I guess that's a positive....right?

How would I go about doing those searches? I would have no idea where to start....

I worked for the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office downtown in the Safety Building and during the daytime, 3g speeds were not good. I usually got like 25kbps download or so. I'm sure it didn't help that the safety building is like a steel trap, but I think that area of downtown Milwaukee is pretty saturated. I've since gone back to my old job in Waukesha where the 3g speeds are pretty good... anywhere from 300kbps to 1.3mbps That's just data. I've never had a problem with voice calls with Sprint anywhere I go. Voice is usually fantastic, it's just the data that was slow for me downtown.

Lol. Eastern Wisconsin would include Mukwonago... That's kinda close. I am very interested in the Milwaukee and Waukesha county areas myself... I can't wait for NV to sweep through Wisconsin. I've got friends who decided to stick with Sprint because I told them that hopefully by the end of the year we should start to see some towers being upgraded around here. I hope I didn't lie!!
