  1. Nah, it's just quiet around here cuz now we're waiting for the 800Mhz LTE to get here! I do have to say though, the 3g network around the Milwaukee burbs and Waukesha seems to have gotten better. Instead of unusable 10kbps, I'll get in the hundreds at least. So even if I don't get LTE everywhere, the improvement in the 3g data speeds has helped.
  2. Yea, I know... But like you said, the key is having a tri-band phone... I've got the HTC One, so I'm stuck with spotty LTE until I upgrade my phone. I'm not doing anything now, I'm gonna wait a couple months for the new batch of phones to come out, then I'll see where Sprint's 800Mhz deployment is at. Hopefully they hit Milwaukee soon...
  3. Hey, West Allis should be referred to as "The Dirty Dirty" and Waukesha as "West, West Allis"
  4. I just experienced Sprint's HD Voice for the first time here. I called a friend who has an EVO LTE on Sprint, I've got the HTC One, both HD Voice capable. It sounded almost like the other person was on speakerphone. The call was so loud and clear, it was awesome. Whenever I call my girlfriend who has AT&T, the call is always so quiet. The HD voice sounded pretty damn good!
  5. From what I can tell, it looks like every single tower in the Milwaukee / Waukesha area has been completed in one form or another. Except for like 1 or 2 sites.
  6. For a couple weeks there, Waukesha and the Milwaukee burbs like Greenfield didn't have any 800, but since yesterday I've had it constantly from Greenfield to Waukesha and even Wauwatosa. I think 800 is here to stay. Now we just need LTE to spread a little more.
  7. Are you in Waukesha right now? I'm at work near the airport and I can make calls just fine. I'm connected to 1x800 from the Dopp St. tower... (It's probably an Apple thing. That's what you get!)
  8. My phone worked just fine all day yesterday. I even worked my second job and had to make deliveries from Wauwatosa, to Watertown, Waterloo, Sun Prarie, and Madison. I only had one little bit of static on a call when I was in Ixonia around 7:30pm. But I was also kind of in the middle of nowhere.
  9. Nice! I was getting a super strong LTE signal when I drove by there this morning on my way in to work, but I wasn't getting 1x800 at all. I even tried a PRL update and everything. So I'm guessing those sites will be on the next acceptance reports!
  10. I have a question about LTE signal strength and what-not.... I live on 92nd and Layton, and all 4 towers around me I believe are broadcasting LTE. However, in my house, my 1xRTT signal will be like -85 or something, but my LTE signal will be like -105 or -115. I know that LTE signal strength is measured differently and has different thresholds for usable signal, but is it really that big of a gap? I'll more often than not fall back to 3g cuz the LTE signal is too weak. I'm going to wait to pass judgement because those towers just got marked live a few days ago, so maybe they have some tweaking to do or maybe other towers in the area need to have LTE turned on to form the complete picture.... But man, that's kind of disappointing so far...
  11. Nice! Do you work there? I used to work as a network admin for the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office and had to spend some time out at children's court helping swap out PC's last year.
  12. Dude that's straight up baller right there. Don't be trippin!
  13. I do PRL updates like they're going out of style. I gave up on cycling airplane mode a while ago and I just do PRL updates instead, to reset my connections. If I'm in an area I believe has either 1x800 or LTE.... BOOM, I'll do a PRL update to try to pick it up.
  14. Well, I've got new activity at my house on 92nd and Layton. My phone just switched over to LTE! And for the first time, the tower on 76th and Edgerton about is broadcasting its exact location. I don't think the LTE is from there though cuz my 1x signal from 76th St is like -87 while my LTE signal is like -112. It might be coming from the 124th&Beloit tower, that one was broadcasting 1x800 the other day...
  15. Really?? You're getting 1x800 around 27th and Oklahoma?
  16. Well, looks like 1x800 is broadcasting again in Waukesha right now. I'm hopping between 2 different towers in Waukesha with the 800. We'll see if it stays on this time!
  17. There was a ton of 1x800 in Waukesha and surrounding areas last week. I also got a little more yesterday around 5pm from the Calhoun & Cleveland tower in new berlin. I'm sure they are in testing mode, so we will see the 1x800 go live very soon. Then we should hopefully see LTE very soon after that.
  18. So, the cell tower on 92nd and Beloit, it looks like they must have came back and added another panel facing each direction. I didn't think there were that many after they originally put them up...
  19. I saw all kinds of 1x800 yesterday while at work, coming from like 4-5 different sites in Waukesha/Pewaukee. Today I'm not seeing any 800. I'm guessing they'll turn em back on within the next few days or a week though. Testing....
  20. Come on man, we've covered this. The few towers that cover that area in Madison are still in progress. And they always "work their way in" from the less populated areas to minimize disruptions in service and what-not. So the ones on the isthmus will probably get turned on some time soon.
  21. On the 92nd & Beloit tower, and Moorland and i43, they did a straight-up swap. Took down the old panels and put up new ones at the same time. not sure about cabinets and what-not though. I'll be looking forward to seeing some more LTE in Waukesha, and hopefully some more action to the South and East. New Berlin needs some love, the towers are spaced pretty far apart for covering the New Berlin area...
  22. On some of the sites around the Milwaukee area, they've already taken down the legacy panels at least... Like on 92nd and Beloit, and Moorland and i43, they did a straight-up swap. Took down old panels and put up new ones at the same time.
  23. Well, it has shown. Sprint has been losing subscribers for years now. By the time you're ready to upgrade next summer, Sprint should have a rocking-awesome network. Just remember that Sprint has far more spectrum than any other carrier, and they're finally going to put that to work. I just read an article recently that Verizon's LTE network is so bogged down in some markets that it's kicking people back to 3g. So Sprint has more spectrum and less customers than the other carriers, I'd hope that equation equals great capacity. http://www.engadget.com/2013/11/13/verizon-capacity-issues-lte-major-cities/
  24. Well, it looks like most, if not all, of Waukesha / Pewaukee / Brookfield has 1x800 today! I was in my company's other office location on Capitol & Springdale Rd and all of the sudden I got the little 1x800 ding from signal check. and between there and my way back to the other office next to the Waukesha airport, I connected to 3 different sites broadcasting 800!
