  1. Brighthouse offers Internet services, therefore can be used as an AAV (Alternative Access Vendor). AT&T isn't the only backhaul provider in the area. And I can't blame accuse AT&T, because we know they delay on lots of things. In Visalia and Fresno, Comcast can be used as an AAV, and they are just a 'cable company'. 2. Thank you very much for posting this! It confirms the the Vibe is one of these two models. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  3. LA has LTE in many places, but not full coverage. But backhaul can be a problem in many areas. Brighthouse is possibly the largest backhaul provider in Bakersfield, and any delays on their part can cause problems for Sprint. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  4. One thing you are forgetting. Convergence based on LTE is what this merger is after. VoLTE is coming as soon as it is battery efficient and voice quality is good. Next, most flagship phones on Sprint now are capable of WCDMA voice based on being global roaming capable phones. It's easy to do a firmware upgrade to enable it for T-Mobile's PCS based voice network. Second, new devices can be designed for being able to utilize both networks at the same time. Cingular and AT&T Wireless used multi-network GAIT phones to use TDMA and GSM on the same device. Why can't Sprint do something similar? Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  5. With multi-mode equipment available, you can concurrently run GSM, CDMA, and LTE all from the same site with very little problems. Tech advancements in the last 5 years has made network construction and management much easier, unless you are incompetent Ericsson. In 90% of cases, an extra set of RRU's and antennas will make it easy for Sprint to put T-Mobile frequencies at the same site if T-Mobile isn't already on said site. 6. If Legere becomes CEO of the combined company, I will be against everything. 1) I know how much he has spoken out against Framily & 2) He's just too noisy and crazy. Outspoken people are bad for people in the end.
  7. Freno? Is that the Fresno version of Keno? Clovis isn't part of this, nor is Fresno county. But I do think there is a conspiracy with the city of Fresno. Maybe they were all replaced by evil space aliens paid by AT&T and/or Verizon to stop Sprint from doing the work. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  8. According to this article here, the HTC One Max is the next in the Sprint Lineup to get Wi-Fi Calling. It states the update is coming in the next few weeks.
  9. You don't seem to understand the bureaucratic red tape that carriers have to jump through in order to get permits for stuff like this. Many cities don't like cell towers because they are "grotesque" in visual appearance compared to a standard city skyline. In those cities, there is more red tape to fight with, and extra engineering that has to take place in order to secure the permits necessary. Take Henderson, NV for example. They hate cell towers, and many of them are "stealth" sites that have to be done a certain way, i.e. monopalm, monopine, "flagpole". So you see, Fresno is one of those picky cities, and as Oedipus has posted many pictures of, the RRU's are on racks by the equipment cabinets because of the extra expense of making fake trees bigger or flagpoles that can't fit the RRU's.
  10. Ok. Just figured I'd check. 25% is a whole lot better than a few months ago, that's for sure.
  11. Bitching and moaning is harder to do. Being happy the work is going on makes everything go faster in the end. How many of Fresno's site out of the total have work that's been done already? Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  12. I'm going to say no for now, but I sure hope that HTC considers it because it seems to open a good range for customers who want to jump into a smartphone, but don't want to buy the latest flagship.
  13. You are right, I'll fix that in a moment. It did come with 2GB RAM. I only thought it was 1GB.
  14. I assume since this model has 4.4.2, it should have the updated Touchwiz.
  15. I wish the FCC or the UA profile had release dates available. I'm guessing May or June, but it could be later in the summer. However, if Sprint is trying to eliminate single band devices quickly, I look for it in May or June.
  16. You are right, I was using the wrong word there. I should have said a minor re-design since it got a RAM upgrade to 2GB in the process of gaining tri-band LTE.
  17. I don't know. If these fall in between, they may end up sharing features, but it's always possible these will both be Hydro models. We will know for sure once Sprint announces them. Based on model numbers though, the C6725 would be prepaid and the C6730 would be Sprint. But remember, I'm still guessing. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  18. It'll be nice when GMO's here in Nevada start broadcasting LTE. One of the towers between Pahrump and Vegas has work going on the past 2 weeks. They have been digging, and I know that both at&t and Verizon are both planning to upgrade their highway sites to LTE, so it'll help Sprint get backhaul into the area.
  19. True, it's better to get the latest and greatest, but this phone is being specifically catered to beginning buyers and very possibly the WiMax replacement program. I really feel that's the primary reason for re-certification.
  20. We have no idea at this time. This was a surprise to even me when I found it on Friday. If the Note 3 does get a tri-band upgrade, I will let you know.
  21. Who's to say they can't just wait to win in the 600 auction and deploy 600/AWS dual band equipment, and then deploy 600 when tv stations vacate it? Saves on 1700/2100 equipment. I can't imagine the hideous size of Quad band or Penta band Antennas if they chose to deploy them!
  22. I'm not sure. I don't think they could without putting up new antennas but I don't know for sure. But the AWS 3 would benefit Sprint with their CCA/NetAmerica partners the most.
  23. That's one thing I was thinking about. It could even be used to get the rest of the Sprint WiMax phone users over to LTE like they've been talking about for the last 6 months or so.
