Like some other software programs and OS's, in order to get one update, it may require an update that your phone does not have. So it has to do multiple updates in order to complete it's task. It's perfectly normal, but very annoying.

Ma Bell (at&t) is certainly pushing hard to steal Sprint's remaining Nextel customers touting that their new Enhanced PTT service will be ready for November. The biggest part of this is that they are quoting it as an all IP based service, still setup by Kodiak Networks, and the video they are showing on their website shows instant response times. Has anyone here been using Sprints new Direct Connect network and how is it for response times, and has it gotten better since it was launched. I can't find any references online to whether it has gorilla glass or not. I will see what I can do about getting one soon to test out the radios and see how well it does compared to the LG Viper. Where did you find this at? And did they show other areas?

Normally, I have that problem with my Viper too, but my EVO Shift consistently stays between 2-5 dBm difference with 1x & EVDO signals. But over all, the Viper has weaker radios than the EVO Shift does in my real life testing. It's too bad too. The Viper was a nice phone, or so I thought.

I have my HTC Evo Shift and my LG Viper sitting side by side and my Viper consistently shows 10-20dBm weaker signal on 1x and up to 5dBm weaker signal on EVDO. I know that both phones are connected to the same EVDO tower as the Sector ID's match in the EVDO engineering. I guess I'm kinda surprised at this development that an older WiMax phone that was really just a cheapy phone to begin with, and on top of that, my Evo Shift is also refurbished. Anyone wanna take a guess as to why this might be this way.

If I had only known, lol. Talk about confusing changes. Then I had a phone call come in so I didn't have time to play with it more.

When I was checking the 1x Engineering screen, it said the 1x rx pwr was showing -13dBm. My rx pwr was showing -86dBm and both phones were attached to the same tower. Also, TouchWiz on the Galaxy Victory is very snappy for a lite S4 processor. Almost responds as fast as the Galaxy S3, if I have room to go that far. I'll perform some more tests when I go to Fresno next time. I will be trying to get the Fresno Sprint store that I got my replacement Viper at to swap for a Victory. It even feels better made for a simple smartphone.

Yep. Easy as pie. I love the discount, however, it only works on minute plans, not the totally unlimited plan that is $100/mo.

I'm the radios are better than the Nexus, but we won't know for sure until someone compares the radios side by side. Actually, I want to see a radio comparison side by side between this phone, the GS3, and the GNex, plus a side by side between this one and the LG Viper.

Include it's own battery, like a partnership with Mophie. It'd be great!

I'd like to know how it stacks up to the Viper in terms of signal, or did Samsung do a shoddy job on the radios?

I'm not buying it, but they may trade out my Viper for it. Guess I need to stand my ground so I can hope to get a flagship, lol.
