  1. Now I see it is saying Q4 release. Sprint Lab schedules don't go out that far. Devices that far out may not even actually release. Until it shows up for lab testing, there is just no way to know how far it will get through Product Development. And we cant put much thought in the case because it would be an early prototype. 2. All I know is what is in the roadmap I posted in an article a few days ago. Robert
  3. Work scheduled to start in July. Robert
  4. We will be creating a series of market update articles in the next few weeks and will cover the progress in market like New York. But until then, LTE sites are scheduled to start coming live in the NYC market in June. Robert
  5. Yes. However, the NYC unveil was only announced a few weeks in advance. CTIA was known a long, long time in advance. Like, as they were making initial NV/LTE plans. Summer 2011 they didn't know when/where they would announce a new EVO LTE. But they did know where CTIA was going to be. Robert
  6. AU73XC460 - August DA04XC049 - September AU73XC461 - August Robert
  7. Sprint says in their lab reports that the signal difference between 700MHz and 800MHz is only 3%. So we should notice virtually no difference between Verizon LTE and Sprint 800 LTE, when it goes live. Robert
  8. After June 1st, yes. All NV sites up to this point have been 3G only, because the 4G cores for the Boston market are not yet up and running. Robert
  9. 700MHz will penetrate much better, no doubt. LTE 1900 signal should perform about the same signal intensity as the 3G. No one should expect a stronger signal on Sprint LTE than Sprint 3G. We don't know what the downtilt is of that sector either. It may be that another site is actually pointed at that area. One that hasn't had LTE lit up, yet. Robert
  10. Pretty much. NV is not being deployed neighborhood by neighborhood. But rather in a shotgun approach, repeatedly, month after month. So every month one or two towers in your area are upgraded until they are all complete. Robert
  11. NV is under way in the Boston market, which includes Worcester. Some 3G NV sites will be complete this month. 4G sites are scheduled to start coming online in June. However, the market won't complete 100% until Fall. Robert
  12. I completely agree. What a missed opportunity. They could have even at least set up LTE COW's. Robert
  13. Site #IN03XC115 is listed in the database as Monopole. So it's the tower. If it was the co-op, it would be labeled "Rooftop." Work is supposed to start at this site in October. Robert
  14. Respond with the exact location (or Site ID #), and I will look it up in the database. Robert
  15. Some of the early sites do not have everything ready to do make 3G and 4G LTE live now. Depending on the reason why, it may require a second trip, and sometimes they don't. However, Sprint and the OEM's decided instead of delaying the start of Network Vision, it was better to get started and re-roll a second time (where required). Most of the NV sites where 3G is live, but 4G is not, is related to backhaul delays or the 4G cores not being ready. And in some instances, it is site equipment related. Where 4G LTE is going live, but 3G is not, is mostly related to cores not being ready at Switch centers. In cases where 3G/4G cores not ready at DDC's and Switches, re-rolls are not likely required. In cases that are backhaul/site equipment related, another truck roll will be required. By mid summer, in most places 3G and 4G will go live at each site back to back, as most of these issues will be worked through. This is a much smarter plan then waiting to start NV mid summer. Robert
  16. No sites in the Atlanta market have 3G NV upgrades live yet. None. Zero. Zilch. Only LTE enhancements live so far in Atlanta/Athens area. On another note, 1xAdvanced can be deployed for capacity/signal strength gains or speed gains, not both. So if Sprint deploys 1xAdvanced for maximum capacity, speeds stay right around 144kbps maximum. Robert
  17. No news about Nex-Tech. Don't even know if any strategic partnerships will go with a NV type of deployment, or LTE. Robert
  18. The only remaining Sprint affiliates are Shentel and Swiftel. Sprint bought out all the rest. Robert
