On Friday October 7, 2011, Sprint had an investment meeting where they announced details of their Network Vision plan and partnership with LightSquared. This slideshow was used in the presentation.
  2. Ouch! Time will make fools of us all. Robert
  3. This is from November last year. I should do an update map now. Would look very different. Robert
  4. Sprint used to be criticized about giving information too early, that it wasn't accurate and had to be changed. I think Sprint now has gone to the other end of the spectrum and is now too cautious and waits until too many details are worked out. Robert
  5. We already have a story up on that: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-204-looks-like-evo-lte-launch-back-onfor-may-23rd/ Robert
  6. by Robert Herron Sprint 4G Rollout Updates Thursday, May 17, 2012 - 12:06 PM MDT It appears Sprint is moving forward with a revised launch date of the EVO LTE on Wednesday, May 23rd. Our source yesterday said that Sprint was working toward the 23rd. The blog Inside Sprint Now is reporting that the 23rd appears to be a go. In an e-mail to one of our Sprint sources for more information, he did confirm that May 23rd is being said internally, but he has no details about the specifics of the authorizations from Customs or the supply chain. We will release more details with updated information about the EVO LTE deliveries as we know more. However, S4GRU Members who purchased from Best Buy are starting to get updates about a May 23rd delivery. Fingers crossed... Source: Inside Sprint Now, Sprint Internal Source UPDATE 12:30 PM MDT: Inside Sprint Now is reporting that they are working on shipping pre-orders earlier to arrive prior to the revised launch date of May 23rd. Our source was unable to confirm that at the time of this update.

  9. There are over 2,500 legacy sites with AAV backhaul now that are capable of speeds over 1.5Mbps. This is not necessarily indicative of Network Vision. However, since most NV sites will have AAV, microwave or fiber backhaul, speeds like this will be much more common at sites where NV has been completed. Was the site you got these 3G speeds from recently much slower? That may help to figure out if these are NV related. Additionally, many sites will be connectable before they are officially marked on-air by Sprint. And there can be up to a one week delay from the time they officially are on-air by Sprint until I get notified. So it is definitely possible to be connected to NV sites before they get posted here at S4GRU. Robert
  10. At a $4 per share liquidation valuation, it was based on a very low spectrum value. 25% of the value of 700MHz, if memory serves. All this talk of a false spectrum crunch will only help drive the value of the spectrum up more over time. Robert
