By S4GRUOn Friday October 7, 2011, Sprint had an investment meeting where they announced details of their Network Vision plan and partnership with LightSquared. This slideshow was used in the presentation.
By S4GRUVersion 2.0:
This PRL should ONLY be used with handsets that support ESMR (they will already be using a 21xxx series PRL). Revised the PRL to include all Sprint/Nextel SIDS in the U.S. (none in Alaska or Montana, but PR/VI and Hawaii are included). It will use native EV for the region, but if there are mismatches between S-N SIDS and native Sprint SIDS, there could be some failed EV connections in a few areas. This should work everywhere.
This PRL should ONLY be used with handsets that support ESMR (they will already be using a 21xxx series PRL). Took the stock 21086 (current) Sprint PRL and added a higher priority record for Dallas to search for the new SID on channel 476. I also added a higher priority record for Atlanta to search the new SID on channel 526. When I know more new SIDs and corresponding 1xA channels, I can further modify the PRL. In all cases, the roaming indicator will NOT illuminate and the standard EV scan for your area will be used. This PRL should work on all compatible handsets. The prior testing PRL assumed that Band Class 14 (for G block scans) was allowed in firmware, so it may or may not work.
Special thanks to 4ringsnbr for creating this custom PRL!
By S4GRUDo NOT use unless you know your device will handle BC 14 (most do). This should work all the time and should flash the roam indicator when you have connected to a G-Block 1x carrier. It will look for a G-block Ev carrier either way first.
Special thanks to 4ringsnbr for creating this custom PRL to test in Network Vision clusters in testing.
