Wilson amp/booster working on b26?

So in my house we have a Wilson amp/booster. Well its really in our garage area because it'd be a dead spot without it. I would say in the past 5ish days (since b26 was optimized on the only tower near me broadcasting it) while in the restroom maybe 5 feet from the antenna that is rebroadcasting the signal I've been able to pick up b26. I cannot however hold it when I stray further into my house, or pick it up in the furthest part of my yard closest to the tower(its another quarter mile or so closer). Which is what leads me to believe its the amp/booster. I tried checking online but none of the various models have claimed to or shown to work with Sprint's LTE (excluding the car one, which I couldn't find anywhere saying it works with b26).

Has anyone else experienced this or have more knowledge as to if this is even possible or not?

Edit: It's also not pointing directly at that tower its pointing sort of at one sector of it that overlaps a closer one. I'm going to try repositioning it this weekend. Also even with the amp nerfing speeds I'm still getting 2-5mbs down during peak hours which is loads better than the crappy 3g we normally get.

Yes, the Wilson amplifiers will pick up band 26 LTE. No, it won't work very well. They're only designed to boost the cellular 850 band, but no notch filter is perfect. That's why they say on the box that they don't support Nextel.

You have a restroom, not a bathroom, in your house?  Do you have two restrooms?  One labeled "Men," the other labeled "Women"?

:P

How do you know that the tower near you is broadcasting Band 26? And how close is "near" to you?

Because I check on my towers regularly, actually I know the towers in my county pretty well lol. By near its like 8ish miles away. The two towers closest to my house aren't broadcasting any LTE yet actually.

Well that's neat. From the research I did before getting one I didn't find any able to boost b25, so I thought b26 wouldn't be able either.

Restroom as in it has a toilet. It is neither a bathroom or half bath because it doesn't have a bathtub or shower. Yes it's basically only guys that use that one. It's off our mud room right by the garage, so its convenient when you're working on stuff outside.

This one will do band 25 as well as band 5 (cellular 850). It's the one I was referring to that only does band 26 (and BC10) incidentally since it's adjacent to band 5, but it won't boost it much at all.

Huh they must have updated the pages, that's essentially a newer model of the one I have. Thanks for the info, I'm going to try adjusting it to see if I can get it to boost the signal just enough to cover my house. Its literally the last place I need LTE.

There's your problem haha. If your booster is actually capable of boosting Band 26 (officially or unofficially ;) ) it's probably getting such a weak signal that that it's only able to barely boost it. Either that or your phone is just barely grabbing onto it, and from 8ish miles away and getting 6 mbps down, a LOT of people on Sprint are going to be very happy with Band 26. :)

Its not even aimed at that tower really If my calculations are correct it was barely grabbing the edge of one sector. But yeah b26 is great once its tuned:D.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
