How much of 900mhz does Sprint have and what can they do with it after Nextel is done.

 

4MHz max. It is useless, really. And I'm not even sure they own it. It may have just been given to them to use during the rebanding process. AJ may be able to offer more insight.

 

But even if they own the 900, it is so small of a holding you couldn't do anything except for one CDMA carrier. It's not worth adding a new band to devices for one measly CDMA carrier.

Sprint has enough total SMR 900 MHz bandwidth to run a CDMA2000 carrier or a small LTE carrier, but the spectrum is not contiguous. It is interleaved, and that makes it practically worthless for anything but iDEN.
