Originally Posted 1 February 2012 According to http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/seybolds-take-spectrum-auctions-locked-congress/2012-01-31 there currently are bills in the house and senate that will authorize the FCC to auction off spectrum to wireless carriers, but they have not had an easy path to approval. They have been tied to several other bills and then cut from the other bills. It looks like it will be some time yet before any spectrum will be auctioned. I know with the white space spectrum, the broadcast companies are loath to give that up so of course the lobbyists are being paid well to stall if not dodge the issue.
