  1. I noticed 4G today at Guess Rd and Hwy 85 in North Durham. Never noticed it there before today.
  2. So I have this random issue with my EVO LTE. I'll be using it to listen to music, and all of a sudden the music will cut off. When I look at it, it will say "no music found". And then a message pops up and says SD card unmounted, but I didn't do it. It will still show all the pictures from my SD card but won't show any music from it. Then eventually later in the day, all is normal again. Any ideas on this problem, anyone else seen this?
  3. Interesting... thanks for the info
  4. So, it takes MORE battery to stay connected to wifi, than to connect to a low 3g signal?
  5. So I've noticed that when my phone screen is turned off for a while, that when I turn it back on and unlock it, it usually has ended the wifi connection, or at least the screen says it does, and then it automatically reconnects after a few seconds. Anyone know why it does this? I would think it would be more economical for the battery to just remain connected to wifi.
  6. 5 bars of LTE at 751 / 40 (Jordan Lake exit) in Durham. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  7. I guess I need to look back at the thread again - I'm not even sure what they proximity sensor fix fixes?
  8. I'm stock but it seemed like the consensus here is that the update was buggy, no? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  9. Got a notification for a system update tonight. Should I not do the update? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  10. I believe 540 and Six Forks was one of the first upgraded towers in our market.
  11. I work near 540 and Six Forks. Been getting LTE consistently when I'm outside the office building. Also been getting some LTE along 540 near Leesville. It drops out heading east until I get closer to Six Forks. Running speed tests I am only getting average 9 down and 5 up.

    Rooting Evo 4g

Thinking of rooting my EVO 4g. Anyone have a good tutorial that they used? Also, anyone else have thoughts or tips about it? After rooting could I re download HTC sense to use as my rom if I wanted? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  14. I've been the same way... I really don't use the laptop that much either. I got the Ipad mini free, so it's not really a burden but if I don't use it much, it's kind of like having $300 sitting next to me on the table, lol. I may just keep it for when I go on trips that way I have a much more mobile access to the internet. But then again, what does it do that my phone can't??
  15. I work under a quarter mile from one tower and have sat there and got nothing. You're right though, I'll give it some time
  16. So I bought an Asus Transformer back last spring. Used it for a while and then the newness wore off and didn't use it much. Then I won an Ipad Mini at a company Christmas party. It's pretty slick and I like it, however I'm finding there's not much I can do with it that I can't do with my phone. Or at least that I use it for. It's also wifi only, so it's use is limited somewhat. Anyone else really like the tablets but just not find a need for them with the bigger screen phones of today? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  17. Hmm. I just checked and phone is on the LTE settings. Should I leave the "connections optimizer" on or off? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  18. I will check on the 1st suggestion. As to the other two, I have done it directly under and passing by known 4G towers. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  19. So I understand it helps to toggle airplane mode to get the lte connection. I am doing this in known lte signal areas and I get nothing but 3G. Any other tricks or do I have a bad device? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  20. Sadly, I don't think I've ever done that. What's the purpose and benefits?
  21. I think they are all pretty much the same. Offers back up and such, alot of customizable features. Chomp does offer to use wifi instead of the carrier network if you need it, but I'll never use that.
  22. I've used Handcent before with my first Evo. When I went to download, the most recent reviews were bad, people claiming some issues since the latest update.... so I moved on the Chomp. They all had 4 1/2 stars, and so far so good with Chomp.
  23. I went ahead and downloaded Chomp SMS instead of the stock messaging app. Not sure why my phone decided not to do it... but Chomp seems to work fine, and even have some features the stock one does not.
  24. I highly doubt this would be an issue with my phone in particular Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
