  1. I'll have to look at the aftermarket text apps and see. Dont know why HTC wouldnt get this right. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  2. So my Evo is cutting off my texts, I assume at the 160 character mark. My GS2 would always send it all no matter how many characters I had. Is there a setting I can change to make it send it all or at least split it up into 2 texts Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  3. So do I need to download sensorly or something? I live in SE Durham and work in N Raleigh. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  4. Ok, so I'm used to having the Wimax 4G and toggling the scan on and off. So what am I looking for? If I'm in a known LTE spot and toggle the airplane mode will I just see an LTE icon pop up if it connects? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  5. You're right I ran through 2 more ICS updates and then came the JB update. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  6. Yes, I initiated an update last night after unpacking it and activating it and it ran an update. Could it be that updated ICS and then it will let me update to JB? That's odd...
  7. I haven't seen the JB update on mine yet - at least I don't think. I'm on 4.0.3 after running updates - isn't that ICS?
  8. yes, that's me... thanks for the welcome and thanks for pointing me to the forums here. I honestly had no clue sprint was actively working on an LTE update. I figured I will give sprint 1 more year to catch up to the other LTE providers, it looks like it will work out.
  9. I did previously - I had initially signed up with my twitter account and then I didn't like having my twitter feed and profile attached to the profile. So I clicked to disassociate twitter, but then I couldn't regain access to the account, so I had to activate another. I sent s4gru admin a message about it, asking him to link the 2 accounts or just grant this account sponsor access but he hasn't replied. I work in Raleigh and the one location in Raleigh is right nearby so that's why I was asking about the LTE.
  10. Got my EVO and all set up. What do I need to know about utilizing 4G? I'm reading that you have to toggle it on and off? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  11. It may not be Raleigh so much as Durham. Durham is awful, especially north Durham. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  12. Yeah, the reception in the overall Raleigh/Durham area is pretty bad. I've only lived here the last 18 months. I'm hoping things improve substantially in the next 6 months.
  13. No doubt it was a lemon. I could hardly find a handful of people who had the menu glitch problem alone... After a lemon like that one, I don't want to see another Samsung for a while
  14. GPS wouldn't lock in 90% of the time unless I rebooted my phone. When I finally got ICS which was supposed to fix GPS, it didn't. Battery life went from bearable to horrid after ICS. My phone would randomly get smoking hot when charging. I got a menu key glitch about 2 months ago that made the phone almost unusable. Random restarts that I didn't force. Just a myriad of problems, that's off the top of my head. I finally, after 4 visits to a repair store, got them to replace the handset and I'm going to hand it down to my wife to replace her Evo 4G. It is a never ending cycle... I'm hoping to see some really good improvements in the second round of LTE phones by Sprint.
  15. Amazon had it for a penny, so I couldn't pass it up. The GS3 was $120. I figured with another upgrade coming in 10 months it wouldn't be too bad. Samsung lost my GS3 purchase by SUCKING so bad with my GS2. That thing has been garbage, the list of hardware and software problems I had is too long to start listing.
  16. I had an upgrade to burn and was seriously disappointed with all the troubles I had out of my Samsung GS2, so I did some looking on Amazon wireless.... Found they had EVO LTE for $.01 on a 2 year upgrade...so for a penny, I bit. I've got another upgrade coming in October on my wife's line, so if something better happens to come out this summer then I'll be all over it. However, I'm looking forward to going back to HTC (My GS2 has been a nightmare). If it doesn't have all the updates, is there any updates I should NOT perform? Also, what other tidbits of info should I know about it? Any bugs you've found fixes for? I may eventually root it, but I'll probably go stock for a while first.
  17. new here guys... just catching up on all the info and reading the threads. So am I right in seeing that only a few towers in Raleigh/Durham area are complete yet? Is it looking like it's going to be closer to summer before we see LTE widespread in the area?
  18. Any update on the roll out for Raleigh/Durham - I just upgraded to have an LTE device... Would love to see some decent speeds for once.
