  1. Uh oh... this pretty much kills any chance of Sprint reworking the phone to include triband LTE capabilities if a floor model is already sent to Sprint stores and 3rd party affiliates.

How is the performance of the Note 3 in terms of its zippyness and your impression on the Air Command features?

I guess I should have said our Samsung Reps came in, I work at Best Buy. No floor model they had one.

  2. I'd imagine single band happened because they are just using warmed over parts from the Galaxy S4. I've seen it written before that Samsung has been disappointed in the S4 sales - even though it is their fastest moving phone ever, it isn't as fast as they had projected.

The result is they're pinning selling their materials in other phones like the Galaxy Megas and the Galaxy Notes. I'd be willing to take bets that if you pull the antenna + modem setup out of the Sprint Note 3, it will exactly match the Galaxy S4's.

For anyone who hasn't seen this. http://gigaom.com/2013/09/05/thanks-to-a-new-chip-the-galaxy-note-3s-huge-screen-wont-kill-its-battery/

  3. I'm excited about the options coming to the consumer. The Xperia Z1, LG G2 and Nexus 5 are going to be great devices. Although Sprint might only see the G2 unfortunately. My coworker switched his HTC One for the Verizon G2 today so when he works tomorrow I will check it out. The Z1 looks pretty amazing though.

  4. Does native Android, such that this device would be running, have a good way of multitasking?

Haven't been on Android for two years so wanted to see what multitasking, if any, are available. In terms of multitasking, I am referring to the G2's Qslide and Galaxy Multiwindow.

    Thanks!

Well considering the new Nexus 5 will ship with Kit Kat 4.4 we don't really know what they will add.

  5. This phone looks very good. If I leave Sprint I am likely getting this phone. My most recent phones in order were the S2, Galaxy Nexus, S3, and now the S4. Kind of tired of Samsung for the time being.

  6. Bummer. Galaxy Note 3 won't support Sprint's Tri-Band Network.

Surprised Sprint is not heavily promotting the LG G2 who supports Sprint's Tri-Band Network.

If only I was eligible for an upgrade this year :/

G2 doesn't come out till November for Sprint. They might advertise it then, but probably not, most people wouldn't are about it.

  7. The more I look at the G2, the more I am now interested in the phone. Verizon and ATT are both selling the 32 GB model for $199 with 2 year contract starting this weekend. If Sprint sells the 32 GB model for $199 with 2 year contract, I might consider getting the LG G2 given that its a triband phone.

I was really disappointed in hearing the Note 3 will be single band LTE so I am now considering the LG G2 as an alternative.

Well you have a few months to think about it.

  8. I got to play with this phone today for the first time because a customer wanted to check it out. And I like it a lot. We have the all white one and I wish it was black but it is a nice device with cool usable features.

  9. I have lived in Stockton for 9 years now. Never had any crimes committed around my area or any thing in general. It all the depends on the area that you live in your city. It's not as bad as the media or people make it seem like. The media and people make it seem like Stockton is like Iraq.

Just compare east palo alto vs palo alto...

On the 3G part, it'll be a long time before LTE shows up. There has been lte work in Stockton . My closest towers has lte set up and confirmed by a sprint rep. Other towers around the city also have the lte antennas and equipment too. I hope it goes live.

3G like you said is useless on a phone and especially on a damn tablet. You can't connect to anything. Honestly the only time I ever use my tablet on data is when I'm on LTE. Other than the service on my iPad mini rises my blood pressure tremendously haha

So far sprint is the only carrier to not have lte in the 209. Even metro pcs has it and pisses me off when I see people I know that have metro and have lte in this area... It's worth the wait considering all the upgrades sprint is doing to their network. Hopefully we see it before this year ends *crosses fingers*

My buddy who is a radio technician has had guns pulled on him 3 times in the last few months while working at sites in Stockton.
