Is this off Terrace Drive in Roseville? It looks like those buildings, and I got the NV email recently (live about a mile south of there). And the guys at the store on Snelling are super slow activating phones today because of network maintenance.
I think it's in the south metro somewhere.

I don't understand why they don't have a telephone pole just for fiber and t1 lines instead of having to trench it to tower. It is cheaper to have aerial system then underground. The pole could go right next to the fence or inside it. It would be so much cheaper and probably quicker because you don't need so many permits to dig.
Maybe? But think about storms, winter and summer. Tornadoes? Less chance of having outages due to weather if the cables are underground. I think.

I probably would not recommend that. In most instances, your handset has to deal with signals that are up to 80 dB (100,000,000x) weaker. Subjecting it to a -25 dBm signal might overload its RF front end.
AJ
Yea, good point.
-
My phone was 2 feet from the antenna.
-
-40 eh? The few rare times you have that great of a signal there isn't a need to look at the icon I think it is due to the app not having the icon with a number for that high of a signal.
Very possible. It did it to me too the other day.

That's even worse! You deserted us, then come back and yak it up in the Milwaukee forum! And you stole Greg Jennings too!
Ha, well I hate the Vikings (and all MN sports) and I am still very much a Packer and Badger fan. i still come down to games some times, so there! Ok, I am running off topic now.

That's NV equipment fer sure.
I think as long as we keep the tower locations vague (cross streets) and then keep tower IDs out of the non-sponsor section, we adhere to the guidelines fine. I do agree about those Minnesota punks cloggin' up the threads! ha.
Hey! I grew up in Wisconsin, does that count?
-
I can confirm that work is being done. I stopped by and it appeared to have NV panels and RRUs on the tower, but no LTE.
I'll get pics of it too.
Yes, it all ready marked in progress. I live less then a mile from it and have been checking frequently.

There isn't an additional cost to text a landline.
I was just going to say that too. I never knew of any charge for this. I know the voicemail charges for the voice to text, if that is what he means?
-
Is there a way to disable Text to Landline on Sprint?
Disable? Just don't text a landline.

It's quite possible that any of the 3G accepted sites to the south are broadcasting 1x 800. We do not get 800 acceptance reports as reliably as the others, and many sites seem to be broadcasting long before they are accepted, or at least we find out they've been accepted.
Yea, I think I just saw Robert mention in another thread that he does not get the 800 acceptances as frequently as the other ones. That could be why?
-
This. The little one is 800 iirc. If not its just the other way around.
Yup, smaller one is 800.

1900 RRU
800 RRU
-
Are you sure this site has been upgraded to lte? or just NV equipment? Word on the street is not all NV sites have lte right away?
That sure is a 800 and 1900 RRU on there. It might just not be on the air yet. Might be waiting on stuff yet so it could be awhile.

I just ded, still nothing for Sprint 4G.
Hmmm.

i can confirm they are digging today at the Cambridge site. they have it tore up from the road to the tower and a crew with a white truck is there... had a big M on the truck but couldn't make out the company name.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
It could be Mill City Electric. I was talking to the guys working at my site today and asked them about a company with a big M on it. They said Mill City. Love your F5 stuff by the way.

Maybe this is a bad download on my end but at my store when I reset the connection in the app the One actually shows the airplane and then shows signal again, while the s4 stays the same and doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone else notice this?
Mine also does that sometimes. There are many times I have to push the reset data button 2, 3 or 4 times before it resets it.

Mooeydj, NIDs do not require unique number identifiers. They are just subdivisions of SIDs.
AJ
Oh, thanks. I am learning.

This is great news! I have been complaining about this NID boundary (NID 2 and 3 in Orange County, CA) issue for many years. It's caused an epidemic of missed incoming calls, battery life issues, pilot pollution, etc. The worst part about this particular NID boundary is that it was set up in the worst possible location. Right along a highly populated area, major freeway and also a large residential area. Now had they moved NID 2 just one more cell site to the West it would have been much better as there would have been a separation by a hill to block out the pilot pollution. But in my opinion they made a huge mistake by doing it the way they did. I talked to people in the right department at Sprint a number of times about it but was unable to convince them to make a change (which would probably require corporate approval and a lot of red tape).
Nothing has changed here yet but I will keep a watch on it and hope that we get a similiar merging of NID boundaries into one larger one. That would make a lot of Sprint customers around here very happy.
Weird, I had a NID 2 in Mahtomedi, MN on White Bear Lake yesterday.

The prl doesn't have anything to do with that, but maybe updating the data profile would help that?
Yea, I tried that too before I call them. It just needed some reset and reactivating I guess.
-
I wouldn't call that interesting, it's more like poor training. I can load a PRL from 6 years ago before EVDO launched and part of the license was sold to AT&T in my area. Text, voice, and data would work fine.
Hmmmm. Well I really don't know a whole lot about the wireless world, but it is very interesting to read the stuff I see on here.
-
You would be wise to seek treatment for your compulsion. A PRL update, for example, likely does nothing to benefit you. It rarely giveth, but it can taketh away.
AJ
Last Thursday my phone stopped receiving texts and phone calls for some reason. I finaly called Sprint and the VERY nice and helpful person on the phone helped me through resetting it. The first thing she checked was what PRL I had. Interesting.
-
Ummmm, I admit I check probably a lot more then I have to. It's just a hopeful thing I guess.
-
Just asking but did you have your phone rooted with a non stock recovery? Cause I was wanting to reprovision my phone but I have Twerp Work Recovery and MeanBean Rom and don't want to brick my phone. So that's why im curious.
Nope, it is stock.
