  1. I would also like to know if there is any particular reason why both evo's get subpar 3g performance in comparison to my gnex. In every case I would be lucky if I get 200kbps on either evo but on the gnex I am getting atleast 1000 to 1500 kbps using the same servers while connected to the same towers.

If you truly are on the same tower, perhaps your Evo traffic is going through a proxy.

  2. Chicago sounds like a mess - you would think that given the situation it would make sense to make completing Chicago a #1 priority.

Oh, it is. As of today, Chicago has both the most towers completed (165 of 1,122) as well as the highest percentage of towers complete (14.1%).

  3. I have verified that the LG Viper is capable of doing simultaneous voice and data without LTE and WiFi. I set Network Mode to CDMA/EvDo auto and made sure that Wifi was off. I called another phone and left the connection open. I was able to visit multiple websites.

From what I have read internally, the reason this works is because EVDO and 1xRTT operate completely independently. The chips are completely separate.

    Pretty cool, anyway.

  4. Well I just spent 90 minutes on the phone with sprint. Tech support tried resolving my issue, had me do a factory reset, and several other meaningless tasks and then they decided my phone needed to be replaced. They said they had a internal memo which said some GN phones were having problems connecting to 3g data. Then they shipped me off to Telephone sales for the return and replacement.

You can also go into any corporate store and have it replaced... which is what I would do. And make sure it works before you leave. This is affecting many but not all phones.

  5. I think I saw a notice come out at work about this and Sprint is investigating. I will try to remember to double-check tomorrow.

Found the info. Sprint is indeed investigating this phenomenom but I have not seen a Known Issue put out.

  7. Uggg.... stupid sprint will not activate the Galaxy Nexus on my legacy 50 SERO plan.

This is horrible! Trying to get this resolved.

I show SERO doc "PAST -SERO Plans" updated 04/13/2012 states "Subscribers who choose to upgrade to a Dual Mode 3G/4G WiMax or LTE smartphone..." so you should definitely be able to add it to SERO Premium plus $10.

I believe this is just an error with the billing system not set up properly to accept the phone for on SERO.

Not sure what is going on - activated a co-workers galaxy nexus who is on a standard 69.99+10 plan and it made him re-signup for a 69.99+10 plan.

Very strange. Normally when I do ESN swaps online it just swaps the phone over' date=' doesn't make you sign up for a plan again.[/quote']

And the reason it required changing the plan to what appeared to be the same plan is because there can be several codes on the backend for the plan you see. The plan code determines some features such as Blackberry access if needed. So in this case I believe the specific plan was to include LTE.
