  1. Let me guess. 11 GCI ending.

    Nope. No B26.

It's Nokia 10x10 B25 With gci ending of 11/12/13 which is confusing the signal apps since 11 ending is used for B26 in Samsung land.

Just checked my screenshot. My dream was crushed haha. YUP, ends in 11......

Edit. Explain this to me. When it says "B26: it's better than when it says B25. I'm assuming it's just a different cell site connected to, however, when it does say "B26" it's faster, around 13 Mbps where as B25 is unusable.

  2. So I noticed today that I have the Google Assistant on my N6P. Out of habit I hold home button due to the original Google Now on the N7 2012. After holding a pop-up came up asking to activate the assistant. I am completely stock but am enrolled in the beta program. My build number is NPG05F, Android 7.1.2. My Google App version is 6.13.25.21.arm64. My Google Now Launcher version is 1.4.large.

  3. This phone is just not very durable. Went on an all day hike yesterday at Ricketts Glenn State Park in Northern Pennsylvania where temperatures were in the teens. I was using my Nexus 6p (my backup phone) as a GPS device (Backcountry Navigator App). My main phone now is an iphone 7 plus which I used as a camera yesterday . Both phones were fully charged in the morning and both were in airplane mode most of the day since there was no signal in the area.

Both phones were in my pocket. About 6 hours into the hike, the Nexus 6p shut down and could not be successfully restarted. It was showing low battery as the issue. But when I had checked about a half hour before it shut down, the 6p had about 75% battery left.

I guess the 6p couldn't stand the cold too well. When it returned to normal indoor temperatures the battery percentage went back up to 70% and it was working just fine. The iPhone handled the cold just fine. There were no issues all day.

Android has the advantage in utilizing the GPS with the phone in airplane mode to conserve battery. Which is why Backcountry Navigator only has an android app. Wonder if any other android phone would have worked better in cold temperatures.

Something similar happened to my brother's 6p when we went snowboarding a while back. It shut down on him and when we got down the mountain he turned it back on and still had about 20%, during most of the day it was in airplane mode since reception is spotty on the drive up. Mine was completely dead as I was using it for music and was not in airplane mode but I did notice the battery drain faster than normal even with spotty coverage and normal usage.

  4. I got mine installed last night, my phone is starting to use band 41 again with the modem update. Only thing I really notice so far

So far I haven't noticed any changes. I'm in good B41 coverage. Maps bugged out on me 3 times in a row this morning but I don't think its safe to assume it's from the update. As most of us read, no additional functions from the finger print scanner.

  5. A quick question for anyone who took advantage of Sprint's trade-in credit for the iPhone 7 when coming from a 6 or newer. Did any of you do the trade-in in-store? (I know some of you did it online, which was a different process so not really any help here) If so, has your monthly bill credit shown up on your account? We got an iPhone 7 and two 7 Plus's back in September when they came out, and traded in two 6 Plus's and a 6 so that we would get the monthly bill credits, but have still yet to get the credits. We are now on monthly payment 4 on two of the devices and payment 3 on the other one, so it has definitely been 2 billing cycles since we turned in the phones, and yet, there still hasn't been a bill credit applied. Can anyone help with that?

Currently trying to get in contact with Sprint Customer Support but the automated answering prompt has no good options for my issue, and the chat option isn't showing up on their site for me. I just want to talk to a representative, is that too much to ask?! I appreciate any help that you guys can give.

    -Anthony

Another easy way to talk to someone is keep pressing 0 when you call Customer Support or your local corporate store. That's what I always do.

  6. Hey guys, random question. I know many members of S4GRU are mobile device experts and use various carriers depending on their location and what works best. My question is does anyone know the correct Verizon sim for the iphone 7/7+? I currently have a sim labelled "DFILL 4FF-NFC-A" with the UPC code 840168090693. I bought my dad an unlocked/sim-free iphone 7+ for xmas and was wondering if that sim will work and allow the device to fully take advantage of Verizon's network.

I understand this might not be the best place to ask and I thank everyone in advance for any information.

  7. Looks like all colors of the Pixel XL 32gb are currently expected to ship by November 23 for anyone who has been waiting for Google to replenish their supply chain. I'm currently waiting to see if they offer some sort of discount closer to Christmas as they did with the Nexus 6P (hoping they do a discount despite the Pixel's success).

  8. Just got back from the Sprint store after trying the chat. I finally got a competent rep. He told me that Sprint apparently screwed up putting in the ID numbers on some Pixels and they are showing up as pre-paid instead of post-paid .Thus, I can't get it onto my post paid account without opening up a ticket and having it fixed. He said it could take a few days. I suspect I won't be the only one with the problem. Oh well, I'll just use it on wi-fi until then.

Or Google Fi it for a month if you don't mind spending the extra money to play with it...

  9. Sprint and Google go back pretty far (Google voice integration comes to mind) so I have some rationalisation for waiting.

~$832 is a lot of money for the Pixel XL after sales tax in Texas.

Sprint even sold the Nexus S with built-in WiMax!!!!!! For those who remember WiMax... I was one of the lucky few to live next to a site in Orange County, CA.

  10. Yes, or holding hope VZW exclusivity isn't permanent.

I saw something last week that showed AT&T would start carrying the device also.

That. Would. Be. Awesome. If Sprint started carrying it. Would be good for consumers as well if AT&T and T-Mobile as well.

I feel like if other there were plans they would have announced it during their event. Unless Google tries to push for other carries since the Note 7 is discontinued and they wanted to attempt to gain that market share...

    Here's to hoping.

  11. Meh.  For water resistance, that requires rubber gaskets on doors and ports, etc.  No thanks.  Besides, my understanding is that -- even with the heavily advertised water resistance -- liquid damage still is not warrantied.  If so, that practically is entrapment.

Anyway, you do not need water resistance.  Now that David Ortiz is retiring, he is cofounding a business with me to manufacture a zero weight, invisible, waterproof phone case.  It is called BeCarefulWithYourPhone.

BeCarefulWithYourPhone.  Never worry about it dropping on the floor or falling in el baño.  All you need is BeCarefulWithYourPhone.

I have been using a prototype of the case for six years, and it is 100 percent effective.

Where do I go if I want to invest? I feel like you guys are headed in the direction of unveiling a revolutionary product.

I keep pushing my credit card into my computer monitor and it isn't taking my money!

Also, is there a sign up page..????

  12. I also went digging in my Play Store account and remembered that I purchased the N6P when it went on sale with $50 off. I think the sale started around Black Friday and ended on New Years. Hopefully that some indication that the Pixel will be reduced around the same time and possibly offer greater discounts since the starting price is $270 greater (comparing the 6P to the Pixel XL).

  13. I can't believe Google kept the Pixel phones with only IP 53 rating instead of demanding at least IP 67 like the iPhone 7 or IP 68 like the GS7.

Since HTC made the Pixel phones, I am not surprised that the phones are only IP 53 rating.  Such a fail on their part.

Yea, I'm not gonna lie. I get jealous when seeing the iPhone 7 commercial of the dude in his garage about to go bicycling after seeing a storm out of the window.
