I saw band 2 on my phone couple of days ago but nothing since. Also my phone went 3G in places it never did before but since then back to status quo.

There was something going on today. For the first time I saw my phone roaming on band 4. Also saw it fall back to 3g in places it never did before. They are configuring the system in my area. Hopefully they don't screw it up :(.

I just did a speediest while on 4: .10Mbps. Yikes...and I was complaining about 5Mbps on band 25.

Hurray!!!! I roamed on Band 4 today. The merger is real for me finally 😁. But then it went into Sprint 3G in the spot in the house that I had reliable if slower band 25. Maybe they are still configuring this area.

I am still dropping to Sprint 3G in a particular spot. Now nobody else has service in that spot except Verizon. So for me it has been status quo.

"With the close of T-Mobile and Sprint, Dish is one step closer to becoming the nation's fourth facilities-based wireless carrier," Jeff Blum, Dish's SVP of government affairs and public policy, said in a statement Wednesday. "We are committed to bringing full, standalone 5G to America, built upon a secure, Open Radio Access Network (OpenRAN) architecture, delivering unparalleled innovation that will benefit US consumers and enterprises
."Continued Blum: "Once the Consent Decree is entered, T-Mobile has 90 days to divest Boost to Dish. We are eager to welcome Boost customers, employees and dealers, and look forward to delivering lower prices and increased competition in the prepaid market."

All of a sudden I got like 3-4 bars in a place in my condo that usually I get 1-2. But before I could enter into field mode it went back to the regular 1-2. Teasing me.

"Soon" in T-Mobile terms is different than "Soon" in Sprint terms. 😎
They don't fart around, do they?

Makes sense.
The other thing that makes it easier is that Boost has a completely separate accounting system than Sprint. Sprint prepaid separate from Boost I think gets serviced by the same accounting system as postpaid Sprint. Those people have to either be incorporated into the Boost accounting system and then the whole Boost accounting system gets transferred to Dish or if Dish gets its own accounting system separate from Boost's then they will have to be transferred separately to it.
BSS (Business Support Systems) continuity will be a critical part of the integration. For example T-Mobile's BSS would have to be modified to support Sprint plans so that when a customer is transitioned over, his plan follows him intact or he's offered a new plan that is similar but not identical to the old plan. I am sure that the T-Mobile business people have been looking at all Sprint's plans and devising how best to proceed.

No idea. Probably within weeks/months
I am thinking July 1st, at the beginning of a quarter. Cleaner accounting that way.

Yes TMO themselves has 20x20 A+D with 5x5 of that on H+. Sprint has 10x10 A then the G block.

You mean Sprint has B1+ B2. They could probably put H+ on G provided of course they have phones that support it.

Yeah the Sprint sites might need another RRU for all the PCS but if TMO has 15x15 LTE like my area and they takes Sprints and add to it for 20x20 then it should just be remote yeah

Is Sprint's and T-Mobile's b25/b2 contiguous in your area?

I'm Interested in see how fast they widen the BW for B2/25

Shouldn't that be a matter of remote configuration in most cases?

I just hope that the merger closes finally tomorrow and that everything is finally put into motion.

T-Mobile & Sprint have had 2 years to plan the network integration. If they have not figured out what to do in each site down to the size screws to use I would be severely disappointed.

T-Mobile has asked the FCC for a temporary authority to use Sprint's 2.5 GHz spectrum in advance of the merger close. They want to use it for 5G NR.

Holy crap, go Nokia:
Nokia touted a new lab achievement over Sprint’s 2.5 GHz spectrum that boosted 5G capacity by up to four times through a software upgrade.
The test included a software upgrade of E-UTRAN New Radio – Dual Connectivity (EN-DC) and Multi-User-MIMO (MU-MIMO) using Sprint’s mid-band 5G spectrum and Nokia’s AirScale solution to deliver 3 Gbps total downlink cell throughput, in what Nokia called a first.
It showcased Nokia’s AirScale Dual Mode Massive MIMO for 5G and LTE, using a single radio unit for both LTE and 5G. The test also tapped commercial hotspot devices. Nokia said once its service is commercially available operators will be able to “vastly increase” network capacity through software updates to the base station, without the need to invest in more spectrum or require site visits to swap out hardware or transport.

Any guesses as to what T-Mobile is going to do with the extra blocks of PCS spectrum beyond 20x20Mhz. NR, H+, more LTE?
