  1. According to the running list:

    http://s4gru.com/ind...t-running-list/

Sprint should have at least 47 markets up and running or in progress by the end of this year. And I believe sprint's stated that they will have NV rolled out to most of its existing footprint by the end of 2013. That means it'll still be smaller than Verizon. I don't know how it'll compare to ATT.

ok, how many markets did Wimax have on Sprint?

  2. Now that I think about it, I don't even know the last time I even used tep to replace a phone. I have 2 evo 3d's that I bought on release day that are still perfect, I also had two evo 4g's that were still perfect the day I sold them to get the evo 3d. Damn come to think of it the last time I used tep was for either the touch pro 1 or the mogul before that, thats was about 4 years ago.

That's pretty good. Wish my phones where that stable....lol I had at least 3 EVO 4G's replaced.....Had the Epic 4G replaced a couple of times too. Now, the Epic Touch has been replaced once. I guess i'm too hardcore on my phones....lol

  3. I can't afford 11/mo for insurance. That's a ridiculous price. Frankly, that would be unfair to do that to anyone but LTE phone users.

True, that is what I said about the premium data, but Sprint still charged 3G customers, and the ones who doesn't even have Wimax in their area that ridiculous premium charge, unless u have a Qwerty Phone (base phone) , or a damn recycled phone.....smh....

  4. Yes, that is correct. The lady I spoke to was an executive analyst I believe her title was and she was very friendly and understanding. She told me that whenever a customer files a complain with the FCC or BBB or some other agency, Sprint get's fined and they don't like paying those so they do whatever they can to solve your issue and keep you as a customer.

Just be patient and don't expect much better speeds from one day to the next. I had to wait from a month to a month and a half to see better results.

She also told me that in NYC it takes time to do upgrades because all their towers are on top of apartment buildings or office buildings and they need to contact the landlord to let the technician go to the roof and do maintenance and upgrades and sometimes the landlord isn't available on a day that Sprint has planned to do maintenance and they are forced to wait an extra day.

But I am happy I could help and like I said, just be patient with them when you file your complain but also be a bit persistent. They will try to solve your problem.

Thanks, again! I have talked to Sprint numerous of times to check if their was outage, or any updates. Always their answer is No, there isn't any outages in my area, and no updates at the moment. I used to never have problem with 3G/4G til last year, been trying to cover for Sprint, and waiting patiently for result, but still nothing has been resolved. LTE will really be the kicker of me staying or leaving. I really miss having decent data speeds. Hate seeing connection to slow to retrieve items, or network error when trying to play videos, downloading Apps, Speed Test and surfing the web.

  5. Almost everyone I know on sprint around here has already left, or are planing to leave. Network here is just not worth paying for.

My wife is being a trooper, and true to her word has given sprint and me until the middle of this year to see if the band aid fixes work.

Yeah, I'm the same way. Waiting for this LTE to roll out, to make my decision........

  6. Well the att and tmobile versions are hspa+ and personally I don't consider that to be 4g even though you can get some pretty decent speeds out of it but not lte speeds. In either case though a lot of the advantages blackberry use to have for the business oriented customers are all but gone and its showing based on their performance.

    True

  7. Considering they are down to under 5 million postpaid iDEN subscribers... there isn't a lot left to lose but you are probably correct. You will likely continue to see losses on the iDEN side and I would guess see gains on the CDMA side (thanks to the iPhone).

More and More customers are using the direct connect feature less for business now a days. Even though Sprint does offer it now, as a option. They really achieve their goal of dropping iDen for 2013 as the last year, and switching ppl over to CDMA.

  8. I believe Sprint is gaining post-paid on the Sprint side but losing them on the Nextel side. IIRC they said to expect that trend to continue but it will be more than made up for by the cost savings of shutting down iDEN. Not sure how true that is but I guess we will see.

Sprint is working hard to keep their Nextel subscribers, and giving them great deals on Sprint phone for the Switch. The good thing about iden was the signal strength was always most more stronger than Sprint's towers. Hopefully it will be a benefit for a stronger 4G LTE signal than currently on Sprint's Network.

  9. I don't know why but I LOL'd when I read your question. RIMM is in a lot of trouble right now and I don't think sprint or any other carrier will benefit much from a 4g blackberry device of any kind at the moment.

lol, yes BB sales have declined lately. They have really good devices for business, and ppl who love quick push notifications. AT&T & T-Mobile have 4G blackberries, and they are pretty decent. Just curious about it, since Sprint never came out with a Wimax version of it, nor a Windows Phone either.

  10. I think there after the fight Sprint put up to block TMO/ATT deal a merger was out of the question. They did try to work out a network sharing though it apparently went nowhere.

Here's a story from last month or so:

    http://online.wsj.co...4239257808.html

If you don't have a WSJ subscribtion, just search for the title of the article on google and click the resulting link. Should take you past the paywall to the full article.

    ok, cool! Thanks!

  11. Parent company DT has to do something to make this under-performing carrier worth their time and money. I was surprised after the merger failure that they didn't just announce that they were going to close T-Mobile USA down. Instead they are finally putting money into fixing it.

I kind of had a feeling, they were going to make some kind of play, and try to make it better....I'm curious to see what they have up their sleeves.

  12. Capitalism is vicious. It's a constant war between the carriers for who has the best network. It will always be that way.

It's crazy how carriers are always against one another. Like after the Merger fail with AT&T and T-Mobile, now T-Mobile wants to go back to their old ways, and attack ppl. T-Mobile wants to come back with a all of sudden change of attitude, which is random, and funny @ the same time.

  13. You go to war with what you have, a souped up 3g network. Most phone users still have 3g phones. They can't compare themselves to LTE. That's 2 years out.

Actually they can in certain markets...... their HSPA+ phones can reach the 42+ MBPS range. The fastest I have seen so far is 20MBPS!

They might still go with the HSPA 84+ speeds, but they are going LTE sometime in 2013.

  14. Remember, now that Sprint is doing something that would alter the Wireless playing field, everyone is into bashing them because at&t & Verizon are paying these analysts to do that. Sprint saw record growth last quarter, so they couldn't lose that many people from the massive gain the quarter before.

True, but have u seen the T-Mobile test drive thing that is going on?

    http://explore.t-mobile.com/verizon-att-sprint?cm_mmc_o=BuukbEwCjCfMCjCzczywEwllCjCfwlfpybMw

T-Mobile is for some reason trashing 3G from Sprint, VZW, and AT&T vs. their 4G network, which kind of doesn't make sense....lol

  15. Although stories like this are troubling.

    http://www.fiercewir...5000/2012-04-18

wow, that is troubling! Sprint needs to get on the ball with fixing the network ASAP! 3G speeds needs to be on par with VZW, and LTE needs to drop faster than what is going on now.....I have had a lot friends switch from Sprint, because they couldn't handle the data speeds. I'm a trooper for staying this long.....

  16. AppleFever? I got the first iPhone 3Gs sold in Pahrump in June 2009. And in 2010, I spent almost a month tracking down an iPhone 4 just so I could have one (yes, the same iPhone 4 that suffered from AntennaGate). It's a desirable phone, but wait until the next one and hope that Apple really will fix the slower data issue.

Yeah, I really want to wait for the LTE version, but will be highly disappointed if it comes with a 3.5 inch screen......I can drop back down to a 4in, since i'm using a 4.52inch screen, but 3.5 is way too small!

  17. They were third behind ATT and VZW. They're also half the size of both of them. Plus biggest contributer to ATT's sales is that they have a large installed base of iphone, iphone 3g, iphone 3gs & iphone 4 users who upgrade to whatever next version is when their contracts are up. It was enough to generate positive post-paid subscriber growth. We'll see next week if it continued. I'm sure the iphone is still Sprint's #1 or #2 selling phone. And with TMo still not having the Iphone I'm sure they've been able to pull away a few more customers.

Yeah, I'm curious to see myself, how the 2013 sales will be on the iPhone 5. I want to try the iPhone, but still not too sure about it! Been having AppleFever a lot lately. Everyone I know is getting the phone. I always like to be the unique one (Android), but Apple has been attracting everyone on this trend.....it kind of sucks....lol

  18. Actually, in real time Speed Tests, the iPhone did under-perform compared to my Evo Shift. I even chose matching servers, and still was shocked at the slower data speeds.

Wow, I thought Apple and Sprint was going to fix that issue back in 2011 of the slower data speeds?
