  1. I just reinstalled and once I logged in I got an notification from inside the app! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I think it was an error when they added me back to the account because I didn't get the 5S right away. Then again they didn't add me to the family plan and gave me a Unlimited My Way which costs more...
  3. I somehow have an upgrade (even though I started a new line in November) that I could use to get a Nexus 5 on Amazon but because the school I go to is mostly historic buildings B41 wouldn't even stand a chance . Oddly there is a TMob site on campus and a Verizon tower that has nothing blocking the view but Sprint's is two blocks away. I don't know where AT&T's tower is but there is a building on Park St. that's covered with various towers and I assume that's where they are.I would have used Google Maps but I don't think you can show the elevated buildings like you can on the apps)
  4. First off I meant to reply to this long ago but I was working my school's musical and the quarter just finished so now I'm on spring break so I actually have free time to just relax. Anyway my reply: I was only suggesting that Sprint seems to be father behind in this market than the other carriers. Also, it kinda sucks that there's no other sites like S4GRU for the other carriers because it would be interesting to track their progress like we can with Sprint, but at the same time it makes this site really special because there's basically nothing like it. Sorry if this is borderline rant but it's kinda frustrating to see almost no progress in my town since I've switched back from the death star in November. This might also because I have an iPhone which stubbornly won't connect to 800SMR unless there is no 3G. But last week I did connect to it outside of a classroom in the main building and I was so happy because I've only connected to it around 10 times since I've switched.
  5. At first it would only switch back when I was on 3G and then would correct itself on LTE but then LTE started the same so I just manually set the time. Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
  6. Are your friends also on Sprint because I asked a couple of other friends with iPhones and theirs were the right time but they have AT&T so that's why I assumed it was a network problem. Also my Dad's S3 was messed up too but I believe it fixed itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing their phones jumping between daylight savings time and standard time since Sunday because my iPhone has been switching at least a couple times a day mostly when I'm using Sprints data 3G and now LTE. Is this a network problem or something with my phone? I don't really mind but it's kinda annoying to keep switching it to the correct time. Also I don't want to restore because iOS 7.1 just came out and I would lose my jailbreak. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That really sucks and luckily I don't live in SF, but I don't understand how/why Sprint is the only big carrier that is stuck with this problem here and are pretty behind schedule while the other carriers have basically finished working. I know Sprint has to swap everything out and the others just bolt stuff on, but the other carriers had to go through the same process through the government and are close to finishing their networks. It doesn't make any sense to me.
  9. I'm really surprised it's taken so long. I'm wondering what's the hold up for Sprint here? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Well there's wifi at school but it varies from being worse than Sprint to under burdened LTE. Most of my friends do have iPhones but my parents have S3's so I usually just turn data off (unless it's lunch then I mostly get LTE ????) and leave cellular on. Thanks it sucks that there no way (so far) to change band priority or even force roam for better coverage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yes it would but I made this post also because I'm going to be spending a lot of time after school working on our musical and the coverage in there is atrocious. It's a really beautiful building just bad for Sprint coverage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I was wondering if anyone could help in any way to improve my battery life. If this helps I have a jailbroken 5S My school is mostly made up of older history buildings which means for Sprint I get almost no coverage due to the nearest tower being a couple blocks away and is blocked by other tall historic buildings. A side note which is totally unfair for Sprint: I believe T-Mobile/AT&T have a tower on campus and Verizon's has nothing blocking the view of the school. Anyway I know Sprint has 800 SMR deployed but for whatever reason Sprint iPhones prefer to hold onto a super weak 3G signal than switch to SMR which would mean much better battery life and better coverage. 13. This post inspired my to go tower hunting. Too bad the iFruit or Drone don't have Sensorly.I really wanted to map some 9G
  14. That's really great and recently I have had a -15 to -20 db increase of 3G in my room but I can't figure out how or why
  15. That's good to hear but I was referring to 3G because PCS LTE doesn't even have a chance in the buildings I'm in most of the time. It dies off almost instantly when you step on campus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. The only problem is for whatever reason Sprint iPhones I believe (from experience and from posts on this site) they prefer to hold onto a very weak PCs signal rather than use SMR or roam on Verizon. This means that you have an almost useless phone that dies very quickly
  17. I think Sprint needs a major brand overhaul along with a new website this year. Also the tower spacing here is pretty bad or I always happen to be between 2 or more sites...
  18. I had no idea we had any B41 in Alameda but I have a 5S so I wouldn't know anyway. I'm just "patiently" waiting for some B26 or if someone found a way to change the band priority on iPhones like you can do on Androids. I kinda regret switching back because Sprint androids get all the fun nerdy stuff like Signal Check oh well you can't win everything
  19. Cost isn't the issue at all. I just wanted some possible sub MHz LTE love soon and a faster network where sprint doesn't have LTE currently because the tower spacing is quite terrible here for Sprint not so much the 2 giants mainly because of their lower band goodness.
  20. Thanks I only need the international unlock right now because I'm planning on going to the UK and France in the summer. I really want to try their new LTE networks that are rolling out now and should be more mature my mid year.
  21. Thanks for the clarification because I bought Verizon sold T-Mobile the same 700 LTE spectrum they currently use. I only saw a headline saying T-Mobile bought some from Verizon but I didn't know the actual band.
  22. This is going to be a lot of questions put into one post because it would be annoying to make many. Backstory: First off I'm really happy to be back on the Now Network after being on an AT&T 7 month hiatus with an S3. I've been back for 2ish months and what a difference it's been since I've left. No longer am I greeted to a 0.001-0.01 Mbps 3G connection weather 1-5 bars, 3 miles away, or right under the tower. Now I can actually stream Netflix in HD, use Google Drive, or just iMessage someone. It's super amazing! This amazingness isn't everywhere sadly but that's not entirely Sprint's fault. 800 LTE is coming and I will be the happiest person when it comes to this amazing/terrible island on the SF Bay called Alameda. Anyway lets get to the point of this post. Question #1: Unlocking my 5S I'm pretty sure you have to wait 90 days to get your phone unlocked for international use right? Does Sprint eventually fully unlock your phone to be used on other US carriers? Question #2: T-Mobile 700 mhz LTE Today as some of you may know T-Mobile bought some 700 spectrum to use for their LTE network. If my 5S is unlocked would I be able to take my Sprint Sim out and pop in a T-Mobile Sim and use this network? On Apple's website for LTE bands the Sprint 5S model A1453 has the same bands as the A1533 (CDMA & GSM) plus bands 18 and 26. Question #3: 800 mhz LTE I know this is harder to answer but very roughly would 800 LTE be rolled out more towards the end of this year or more likely early next year for the East Bay (specifically Alameda because I live here)?
  23. Macbook Air 2013 - 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 - 8GB DDR3 RAM - 128 GB SSD - Intel HD Graphics 5000 with 1GB of system RAM I also have an Apple TV that can act like a second display and soon to be getting a 3 or 2TB external HD
  24. That's really great that when NV is done the coverage will improve because the biggest thing that made me leave sprint minus them kicking me off for roaming constantly was almost zero coverage anywhere I went and turning my iphone into an expensive white paper weight/ruler/hammer. Just kidding about the hammer but you get my point useless as a phone.
  25. From what everyone is saying the future of Sprint is shining as bright as the sun. However I just have a 'dumb' question: Will all of this change expand their current network coverage or will it just strengthen their current coverage? I only ask because the biggest advantage of having AT&T over Sprint is just signal in more places, not data or voice just signal. I know AT&T's network mostly runs on 850 vs Sprint's 1900, their network has more layers to it (GSM -> EDGE->3G->HSPA+ -> LTE) vs (1X->EVDO->WiMAX->LTE), and has a larger footprint. When I had Sprint and traveled places I somehow found myself either on the edge of Sprint's network or Verizon roaming with the phone fighting for Sprint's network draining the battery very quickly. Would this also be by all of the improvements.
