  1. Its not like powerboost thats just what they call their 60/8 tier
  2. Does a 3g updated site mean backhaul is definitely in place? Or just that the new antennas were added.
  3. Picked up lte for the first time EVER on metro north going through the Bronx, kind of near mt. Vernon. I tried to map on sensorly but idk of it worked.
  4. I found that after Monday, when it was impossible to do anything with my phone, there was always a good roaming signal. This suggests to me that Verizon was doing better. Today there was still zero sprint service anywhere without electricity, only roaming.
  5. There is very sporadic to no service whatsoever in the majority of lower manhattan. It is weird. People are lined up at pay phones
  6. Getting amazing 3g speeds in Chelsea at 23rd 8th!
  7. eHRPD has also showed up in Brooklyn as of today. One thing I noticed on the NV tower near where I work is that pings seem to be worse than they were before the switch to eHRPD. After the tower got NV pings were sub 100 but today they were around ~250. Perhaps things are being routed differently.
  8. Seing eHRPD today in Midtown for the first time. Though I am still convinced the "NV complete" site across from my office is not actually updated as speeds are still <200k
  9. This pattern has been pretty consistent.. How am I not being realistic? It is not my job as a Sprint customer to monitor their network performance for them. That is something they should be doing themselves. Your telling me they have no way of knowing a tower is overburdened besides customers calling and complaining? I guess I'll just wait and see what LTE brings.
  10. Well it's listed as complete and also the pings are very low, which I think is something that is typically seen on the nv equipment ?
  11. I'm sorry, but I thought that was supposed to be PART OF NV? Or are they so stupid they would like to keep paying people to go back to the same site over and over again, instead of doing it in one shot? Kind of like their "band-aid" fixes. Please tell me why they are adding T-1 lines, only to be ripping them out when NV comes in a few months (years? decades?) Same crap today on 4099, 4098, and 4097. Good in the morning, <200kbps during the day, and back to good when everyone went home. I'm not going to call and complain, because its not like me calling is actually going to make them add a carrier card. This is the last chance I (and many others) are giving them, they can get NV right or they will lose me as a customer. I was so happy when I saw the new antennas, but man did they let me down. So far, I'm not impressed with "Network Vision"...
  12. Ok just did one where it was flipped onto 4099 and ch.425 again. (Interesting, when I walk into a certain area of my office, it switches to these sectors/channels). This time I got 2mbps down again. This is the same channel/sector that gave me <200kbps earlier today. Hate to break bad news but really seems like a congestion problem is still happening on this tower despite NV.
  13. Ok well now I am leaving work and Just got 2mbps down. It says I am now on sector 4098 instead of 4099. Channel 675 instead of 425. Also it is later and everyone has gone home from work. So I don't know what to make of this. There are only two NV antennas on top of this building and there is one legacy antenna still left in the middle.
  14. Hmm okay. Well right now it says Sector ID: 4099 chanel 425 and I just got a crappy test. I'll see if it changes, I haven't got a good speed test since the day I posted this thread though. Is it possible that the legacy equipment is still transmitting? They haven't taken the other panel off yet.
  15. ...How do I do that? While I realize there are a million towers here, the fact that I can see this particular tower out my window, (i.e. I am 100ft away from it), makes me doubt I would be connected to a different one. It was also down the other day (probably related to NV), which resulted in me only having 2 or 3 bars, as opposed to full signal which I have now (although I realize this displays 1X not Evdo signal).
  16. This tower is now marked 3G active on the NV sites map, but performance has taken a huge dive. I hope this is not what NV turns out to be... Any explanation for this? NY25XC800
  17. So sometimes I've noticed I get bad speeds from this tower (400-500kps), while other times I get the great NV speeds (2mbps). I noticed they left the old antenna in the middle, are they both broadcasting and I'm switching between the two or something? Also These new panels are only on this one corner of the building, there is nothing pointing in any other directions.
  18. Here's the speed I got. Also I was on a phone call at the time. Didn't know we could do voice and data at the same time now. Edit: Those are in fact, new panels. I found an old pick I took and they were not there before.
  19. How do I post another photo? It says I reached my limit 500k!?
  20. It appears network Vision is ACTUALLY progressing in NYC. I just got great speeds from a tower where I normally get 600-800kbps. I can see the panels from my window, but I never noticed anyone changing them and I can't remember if there are any new ones. Do any of these look like NV? I think the two big huge ones (lower) might be new. This is at the corner of 70th and York Avenue, a tower that was supposed to go live this month.
  21. No, that has been there for WELL OVER six months already LOL. As have all the upgrades for the Waterbury, CT area. It appears they are not actually doing much of ANYTHING in CT. O well, good thing I moved to nyc
  22. I was in Torrington about 2 months ago but have moved since. However I have a pretty good idea of what it is like there. You will generally roam a lot unless you are near a large town, Verizon has much better coverage now (sprint was better until Alltel moved away and verizon got their hands on 800mhz). In Torrington in particular data on sprint is horrendous. There is really only one tower serving most of the downtown area and it is so overloaded that texts fail, and speedtests do not even load. It is literally the worst spot I have ever been in as far as sprint 3g data performance goes. Uptown near the walmart there is another tower that is also horribly loaded, but not as bad (200k-400k, texts don't fail).
