Remember also it's 400Gb/sec not 400GB/sec.

Suppose the attorney who had to report this back was either smited straight to purgatory or ejected straight into the shark tank
He was sacrificed in the unending quest to reanimate Steve Jobs. I heard whenever you buy an iOS device now that you are required to give a pint of blood to see if you will be targeted.

Here's a pic of a tower that had a Ericsson truck working on it in Corpus Christi, Tx

Is Sprint the bottom antenna on that?

400GB/s, moving to 1TB/s, holy guacamole, that is some crazy speed. It also shows what LTE, LTE-A, and 5G will require for backhaul and WAN.

Talking with netmonitor support about app issues I was having, I found that their data comes from a Google database. He said that Google collects location data from Android devices via the location service and creates a DB of cell towers. The problem I've found is that the Google locations, in comparision to the great data that Robert has here, are down right terrible. Over a mile off in random directions, sometimes pointing you in the completely different directions.

I see that you keep referencing Alltell and VZW seperately, aren't they the same entity? Alltell got bought out by them years ago?
In areas where Verizon already had coverage, I thought the FCC made them sell off towers. Maybe they got bought up by a mom & pop rural carrier

If it were me, I would force roam until they finish with the upgrades.
Yeah, that's what I would do.
Best of both worlds.
If the poster is that heavy of a user, he also probably uses the data pretty heavily. That 300MB roaming limit probably would hit him pretty quickly. Don't want to get a termination letter...

If they would have done it two years ago they would have had to replace every single LTE base station to be able to offer LTE Advanced service which enables MIMO on upstream. Currently they're going with LTE release 9 and doing a software upgrade to LTE release 10. They will end up coming out on top with a much better network.
That I did not know, thanks for the info. I knew it was more than a software upgrade to go to LTE-A, but I didn't know that it was a base station replacement. Is that why Verizon gets hammered for their Release 8 LTE network and upgrading to LTE-A?

I'm glad they waited for NV (if they did), allows us to put in the latest equipment, and less truck rolls.
Stop being logical...

Thanks for the reply. I did try that earlier (and again just now), restarted phone, and still no luck.
I wonder if work is being done on the tower you connect to.
-
True, but it has great uses now. At home I use it for a backup for my FiOS internet, and as a spare connection when I'm mobile. I was in Vegas a few weeks back and used it in my room to surf.
I did the same thing in Columbus a few times because the hotel WiFi was so bad...
-
I never paid for Nextel service, but I had it through work a couple of different times. It served a great purpose and the PTT was awesome, however, that network should have be gone already. If Sprint had started NV two years ago, they'd be on top.

If you where dropping calls like i am you would see my frustrations i called to end my contracts but it would had been almost 600 dollars so i said ill wait but they need to get there act together my phone is my life.
I understand the frustration. I had to get an Airrave for my parents house because the coverage is very spotty where they live. While I wouldn't say my phone is my life, it is always in my hand being used (work, family, friends, etc). If you make a donation, you can see the sponsor maps that have the completed NV sites in the Chicagoland area. There are known issues of calls/service dropping between Legacy and NV towers. There is a good article on this forum from a month or so ago that I'll add in a few minutes.
If you become a sponsor, those maps will show you the "good" areas and the "bad" areas. Maybe a slight change in your travel routes might help your dropped call issues a great deal. Or you might learn the current boundaries and be able to stop before a call drops to finish it or advise the other person that you might lose them. I have a couple of areas like that and I always let the person I'm talking to know that they might lose me.

I wouldn't be opposed to bandaids at this point =]
Currently showing zero bars, then it bounces to Revol and I get a bar or two and it bounces back to sprint.. no bars, etc..
Do you have any upgrades listed on network.sprint.com?
-
Wow, I don't even want to figure out what Verizon would cost me. What a total screw job to their customers...
So I figured it and I would be $40 more, before insurance/TEP, taxes, surcharges, fees, etc.

Been bouncing between roaming and distant Sprint connections all day. Appears that my closest tower is offline for Sprint atm.
Latt: 40.8667
Long: -81.3442
Hoping it's NV related, but not holding my breath.
I thought Ohio markets were all round 3 and currently unplanned. Maybe you are getting some bandaid fixes listed at network.sprint.com, could be additional backhaul, voice or data carriers.
-
I drop at lease 20 to 30 calls a day i`ve called sprint and all they say is we are updating to network vision im thinking bout leaving that how bad it is.
That would be a very poor decision, Sprint is actively accelerating the NV deployment in Chicago due to these issues. Chicagoland will probably have the best Sprint experience for quite sometime when the upgrade is complete.

Yeah, I bought the refurbished kindle fire on the $139 gold box deal. Other than missing a camera, decent amount of memory, and a micro SD, the kindle fire running CM9 is pretty awesome.

My Asus Transformer has a rear camera that I think I've used once. I use the FFC for video chat/skype/google+.

I have been waiting on this tablet, I originally got wood over the asus memo 370t, which was canceled so Asus could work for google on this tablet.Hoping there is a micro sd slot. If there is and the specs are what they are speculated to be, then I am in. I only want a tablet because I want a bigger e-reader than what I am using now. I read 52 books on my evo shift, and now I am using my evo 4g lte. Bigger screen not heavier than 12 ounces and I will be a happy camper. Of course Amazon should still be happy I buy all my e-books from them, at least 1 a week, just not crazy about the kindle fire and no google play store.
Why not just get the Kindle Fire, root it and toss CM9 on there?
