Quick question: can this update be downloaded and installed if I have a stock g2 unrooted without a computer and just a file manager? I read a few pages back that it just needs to be placed in a /cache/fota folder. Is this true? Does anyone have a direct download link because the one posted doesn't work. I'm growing impatient, and my 14 day clock is ticking. I'm stuck at work without a computer. Vince

Also, I need to ask a question: since owning this phone (and never once in years of owning my iPhones) I've had restricted access to certain sites. I've been unable to login to my Yahoo mail because it said I may be blocked or malicious activity may be coming from my isp (while on Sprint lte). I've also been blocked from this site. A quick airplane toggle to obtain a new ip fixed both instances. Vince

I'll be honest. I only made the switch because of band 41, and knowing this update was coming very soon. It's a huge learning curve, and I'll probably never get used to android. iOS is just smoother, easier, and everything is integrated perfectly for me. It is a very nice device, though, and very snappy. I get awesome b25 in and around the suburbs of Chicago, but 30kbps lte when I'm at work won't cut it, so, receiving this update is critical. I have 10 days left before I'm locked in. Vince

How long does an ota usually take to hit most phones? This is my first time doing this. Vince

It's highly unlikely that this update is being location based with band enabling/disabling. Every spark device should just always be "on and ready."

Yeah, why is your 26/41 disabled? Post a screen shot of your band priority.

That's what I'm dying to know. That update had to do more than what we can do with an msl code. Also, does the walmart icon only show when on 41? Or does it always show when you're on lte.

except I've had a 5s and work in Chicago and surrounding areas. My iPhone never once let go of LTE. Chicago is well blanketed, and the handful of towers still 3G are irrelevant. It's the phone.

Just took a trip to downtown Chicago and my results with this phone are more than disappointing. This phone can't hold an lte signal for anything. My wife's iPhone had lte the whole day, while my phone day constantly holding 3g. Please tell me it's because of lack of a modem update and not a weak rf performer. I even turned off 26/41 and rebooted. Does anyone else experience this? Vince

11 hours of pretty heavy usage and my battery just hit 50% . Very impressive Vince

It doesn't work yet. After some googling, I read there are security measures put in place by Apple to prevent tampering on the 5s. I've had quite a few beers, or I'd link to it. Vince

I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but do you guys have any tips or suggestions for connecting to 41? I got my msl and set 41,25,26 to 1, 0, 0, respectively and couldn't connect all night. Without the update, is it random when you'll connect? Or is there some trick that I'm missing. Thanks. Vince

That makes sense. I had a brief stint with an s4 and it used to show voice with the tower address and I liked that. Touchwiz ruined my thoughts on android, but sense is really smooth. Great phone. Can't wait for that spark update. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

I absolutely can't stand being in the hot and humid summers that we get here in Chicago, but after this absolutely bone-chilling winter, I welcome it. I work outdoors, so it's getting a little old.

How is 41 with an MSL entered, and priority set high? Does it still connect? Or only sometimes.
