I ended up preordering the Unlocked version of the S22 Plus 256GB version through Samsung.....the next question is, what is the best approach or ideal from the SIM situation?
From what I'm reading there's eSIM and physical SIM options for this line. I've no experience today using eSim functionality in a phone yet, but is it possible to go that route with TMo for these, and even if so, what's the benefit other than the obvious lack of need of a physical card, and are there any issues/quirks etc?
So, at least per claim of an account chat rep while logged into my account....the SIM from an S21 will work in the newer S22 line. I thought I'd read otherwise....or maybe she was assuming I was already using a TMo SIM vs a Sprint SIM card?

Here's my concern, for anyone knowledgeable enough: I'm still in technically former Shentel country in central PA. I paid off the balance for my S21, and I'd prefer to go through the Samsung 36 month offer direct from them for an S22+.
However, if I get the TMobile variant, can I use my existing Sprint sim card from the S21 in it, or otherwise would I still be able to contact support to get a Sprint sim card to stay on that angle vs. native TMO until things change in terms of network work around here? Or also, could I get the unlocked version and a Sprint sim card work in that as another option (i've never tried going unlocked version before)?

IF you upgrade every year. Last few years I haven't seen big enough improvements between iterations to feel the need to upgrade every year. Looking at the S22, even the ultra, not seeing enough yet to justify upgrading my S21 Ultra. So the additional software support is welcomed.
Even though I'm exploring the option (basically, I was already contemplating balance payoff after we moved and using net proceeds from selling our prior home, which then trade in gets me under half the monthly payments I'm doling out now...less if I went straight Samsung for 36 vs 24 mo plan), I couldn't agree more.
Even with a totally different model with totally different chipset/hardware...my wife has the A32 5G and in day to day use other than the size differential I can't tell any difference in actual usage/performance really. Oddly there's one thing I actually even like better about hers; since we both keep our phones in vibrate mode 95% of the time, I much prefer the vibration sound/pattern on her phone than my S21. The S21 isn't as 'pronounced' we'll say as I'd prefer when vibrating off text messages.

I don't appear to see a Galaxy S22 thread, so starting one.
Anyone still on Sprint billing able to figure out how you find trade in deal/promotion, particularly if you're still in installments on an S21? Supposedly 'up to $500 off' for regular Sprint plans with trade in from what I've Googled.
However, if I go in in upgrade mode on my account, and I try the one-time-payoff method going through my online account, while it does finally open up the 'offers' portion, none of them gives any installment or single purchase discounts....it's only the default $33.34/month installment option or $799 for a 256GB S22 (basic)
If I choose to continue my existing remaining installments, then and only then and only then does it show a discount, and only in secondary installments for the new phone (cut in half down to $17.13/mo), but no discount option on the pay upfront path, still $799 there. And it doesn't make it clear if you have to immediately trade in the S21 to get that discount if you're still continuing with the installments.
Bottom line: I was assuming you could choose to trade in your current phone, ending current installments or worst case doing a one-time remaining balance payoff immediately then turning it in, and getting either/or discount option....but the system doesn't appear to be behaving that way.

I was down in southern TN last week when the update hit and then noticed that all of a sudden when my brother and I drove back down to Huntsville - knew I'd never seen the UC addendum before, now I know why.

Edit: Disregard, what I previously posted here was a previously starred bug.

Anyone else in the southern central (Harrisburg-Lancaster region) PA area that can speak to whether the time is viable or right yet to get a T-Mo sim and switch from native Sprint? @chamb looking at you as a chief prospect for this possibly. I've been waiting to see if there's any significant news of tower/equipment changes in this area before even trying to test the waters.

That list is hysterical to me. Places like Mount Airy & Marion NC or Wytheville VA (have been in all three, 2 within the last 3 months even) make no sense juxtaposed against the likes of Atlanta/Boston/San Fran/etc, but that they're actually commanding higher comparatively even as well...? 😲

I cannot run SCP for any length of time on my S21 anymore. I can start it, put it in the background, and within a minute or two it's just gone. No crash message or anything. I have not taken the step to uninstall and reinstall yet. But I may do that soon to see if that clears anything up.
Honestly, that's been my experience the whole time since I switched to the S21....it's never not behaved that way for me. I just got into the habit of manually restarting it when I want to look.

Not sure if or how much this plays in, but there's been some increased solar activity of late that I've seen a few articles randomly on - that sort of things sometimes can wreak havoc with satellite communications

I still show the 25th but I only preordered a Plus. From what I've read elsewhere, the Ultras will probably go out soonest as you said above. The only physical item that doesn't show the 25th is the 25W external battery (I added that as part of my $150 store credit as part of the promo along with a wireless charger and the leather LED view cover), and it shows March 8th.
