  1. excellent ping though

they must have some excellent traffic shaping going on, I would expect a heavily overloaded tower/network to show signs of higher pings than that.

Probably all those people who refuse to offload while at home.....

Boom...Ohhh nooo I didn't.... In all seriousness though, not trying to bring up that conversation again :)

  2. With all this entitlement about unlimited data, Sprint should just stop selecting phones that come with WiFi capabilities. If that truly was their mindset "We offer unlimited data, so you don't need to offload data", they should just choose handsets that don't have WiFi capabilities. Let's see where that gets all of us Sprint users on the Now Network.

Edit - Before you liked it dedub, I forgot to put /sarcasm at the end.

  3. I am content with consistent 6 mbps. Anything higher is just an added bonus.

Just food for thought, I was by an LTE tower last night and ran a speedtest. I got around 33mbps down and 10mbps up. The Root Metrics app said in that 1 speed test, 46MB was used. It wouldn't take too long for those users who brag about 30+ mbps LTE download speeds to hit their 2GB threshold. By my count at those speeds.... all it would take would be 44 speed tests :)

  4. Thanks for responding. The settings were correct within the stock browser. I just assumed that Chrome grabbed the download location from the stock settings and that when the stock settings said "storage card" it was referring to mnt/sdcard and not the ext_sd.

I just tested and the downloads from within the stock browser go where I want them so it's a Chrome issue. I can't find the setting anywhere in Chrome.

As a work around you could use ES File Explorer and cut and paste what you want into ext_sd. Maybe in TWRP you could mount the internal storage... but rebooting to recovery every time to pull some files off really isn't feasible.
  5. I seriously considered going with At&t myself, but that bill is gonna be higher, with wayyyy less data. I looked at how much data I've used with Sprint so far, and I already used about a gig from doing speedtest alone. That was only after 2 weeks of having the phone smh.

I would stick with unlimited data and wait for NV. I just used up 1GB in a half of a day on LTE going around to different sites and doing speedtests.
  6. I actually just got off the line with a rep from sprint cause my internet on the phone isn't really working and he told me that the tower near my house is being upgraded to LTE... should I be super excited?!

I wouldn't hold your breath. Unless you can go out and find said tower and see they have been doing work on it.
  7. What is the best way to figure out where these towers are? I live in Manhattan KS and have been trying to figure out where I'm getting LTE and where I'm not. I have the netmonitor app but it doesn't always work for me. I looked at sprints network.sprint.com site and have it pretty narrowed down I think. I live right near where far right tower is on this graphic, but no LTE for me. I know if i drive around or go down to the middle of town, I can pick up LTE.

What other tools are good to use to test?

    Thanks

If you are around the mall in Manhattan, you are getting LTE from the tower I posted pics of. Just looking at your screenshot you posted, those tower locations are correct.
