I see some activity on Sensorly, but can anyone tell me if LTE is acceptable in downtown St Augustine? I visit there from Tampa all the time and I am going Labor Day.
There are 2 towers in that area, Woodberry and Faulkenburg and one at the Brandon Mall. Both as of 2 weeks ago had no work done to them yet so it might be a while. The Brandon Mall area has been notorious for years with bad data and dropped calls especially when the area is crowded.
I mapped a little of the Hillsborough Ave tower near 275 and Florida Ave. Then I mapped the tower that's now live on CR 39 in Plant City just north of I-4. Also I discovered a live tower technically in the Orlando market a mile east of County Line Rd on I-4. There are still towers in Hillsborough Cty that don't have any visible work done on them yet.
They could have at least lit the downtown tower. There are still areas unmapped on Sensorly though, like eastern Hernando and 75 north from the Pasco County line to Sumter County line where LTE is live and not mapped on Sensorly. I try to run it as much as I can when I'm around town. I think the excitement has worn off and some don't want to map anymore.
I think the problem is Sensorly I notice won't shade in lighter areas if a new tower goes online on previously mapped areas. In other words if its light purple, then a new tower is brought online it takes alot of mapping to make it a darker shade.
Yep, that's from the tower on I 4 and MLK, I couldn't upload points to Sensorly and I was right next to the tower. Since they just turned it on it might be still being worked on. I would call Sprint if it continues at the end of the week.
4 sites that were marked 3G active are now 4G, the site off of 50th and 7th is 3G active so it could be ready to broadcast 4G. The same with the nearby MLK and I-4 site.
The tower in Cross Creek Blvd and Bruce B Downs is on. They still might be testing it because it will go on and off and the range is not that far. But its definitely on tonight, doing a little mapping.
