my sister's N5 will randomly just SHUT OFF every 1-2 days at random times of the day.  just started the last couple weeks.

has anyone else ran into this and possibly know why?  i am about to flash the factory image to it.

on a side note, after google releases the 4.4.3 update, how long before the factory image is available for download or do they post it immediately?

Take it for what you will, today is April fools after all. There are a slew of new articles out, all based off the same original info, saying 4.4.3 should be out sometime this week or next week..

Everyone needs to chill and stop worrying about the spark update. We already know it is coming. Furthermore, Google knows what they are doing and they do talk to Sprint because otherwise there would be no sprint nexus 5.

We don't know whether the baseband has changed or not because the source blacked out the rest of the version string. M8974 is merely the number for the Snapdragon 800 family (MSM8974), so all of our baseband versions should start with that.

I live in San Antonio TX. I just got a text from Sprint saying the new network is complete in my area. I did a PRL and Profile update and rebooted. After reboot all bands were enabled with 26 and 41 on priority 1. Have not been able to verify band 41 yet as I am not currently in San Antonio.

have you entered your MSL code and enabled B26 or B41 ever?

I bet that well see the update within a month. Some of the source that say its a "few weeks away" are known for being reliable. Plus they were correct when it came to previous updates.

It's known from Sprint PR that Nexus 5s were being used for Band 41 testing at a NASCAR event a few weeks ago, so the updated radio is surely ready to go unless they found new problems in the meantime.

They aren't shutting down google voice, just closing it off to outside applications.

Sprint never released a voice app for any of their nexus phones, not the Nexus 4G or the Galaxy Nexus, and I don't expect one for the Nexus 5.

 

The google voice app is great.

I know Google is planning on shutting down 'voice' in the next couple months which is very unfortunate.  Does anyone know if Sprint is planning on releasing a 'voicemail' app in the play store for phones like the N5??

that is with the premier sponsor 513 pro. It is battling between the two, and one sector serving my house stopped all 1x800 broadcasting even after acceptance. Tried filing an equipment failure issue but they just brushed it off

what do you use to load the PRL?

orbif out of range ofbusable LTE. At my house its out of range of LTE, have an airave, and 1x800 is here, but my phone still connects to weak 1x1900

you can put on a PRL that favors 1x800.

anyone out there have any solution to this airave issue?

Hey has anyone been having a lot of crashes on chrome , I believe there was an update recently too. Mine crashes when I try to load webpages by clicking on the suggested webpage when typing the URL.

So, because this is a slightly different problem than I've had before (though still feels like something is misconfigured on the tower side), I figured I'd ask.  I finally am able to get LTE at my home with the Nexus 5 without having to force LTE only.  Literally happened this morning.

 

That's the good.  On the bad side, I can't make any calls, nor can I receive any unless I fall back to 3G only.  I'm golden then.  Planning to wait it out a couple of days, but thought I'd ask to see if anyone has had any issue like this too, and how it got sorted out (hopefully).

give it a week, probably just updates in your area.  you could try to do a profile update and see if that makes an difference.

i would get on sprint chat to make sure they have the correct number on the sim card, would then try a diff sim, would do a hard reset of the phone.  if none of this helps, try a diff N5.

are you using google voice?

Oh, they definitely fail. As in wait, wait, wait... Two tone beep, then "call ended" message without ever having rung. Ever since forced switch to 3g calls out have been no problem. I'm thinking it may be local tower issues.

Thanks for all of the replies, at least I know it's not just me. I'm don't have the full GV integration, just the voicemail, but I will see if messing with that helps it out at all.

Anyone still noticing it can take 20 to 30 seconds for an outgoing call to go through?

i did until i disabled full google voice integration.  as soon as i dialed it back to handle voice mail *only* the delays went away!

is the "spark update" required to connect to B26/41?  or does it just add a cute spinning logo to the top of your phone???

i get about equal crashings whether on ART or delvik.  i have to switch to delvik often to get slingplayer to work but otherwise i am on ART.

Has anyone else noticed how dark to video is after 4.4.2? I find this a big issue video recording is horrible now inside of my house. I was also wondering how to focus while using the video camera because it will get blurry and not auto focus and if you touch the screen it just takes a photo.

yes i have noticed this as well and hope it's addressed in the next update.  i also hope they give us some high res 16x9 resolutions to choose from in the camera app.  4:3 sucks hard.
