So I got both my phones setup tonight. Samsung smart switch makes this process so much easier than it used to be. I was able to get my T-Mobile phone setup on esim but I did have to use my old physical sim from my other phone to get my phone setup before it would let me do esim. After the initial setup though it was pretty easy and activated with a minute or so. I've been fully on T-Mobile for 2 years now so I can't speak to the Sprint side of things with setup.

Just received my phone, time to start transferring everything and getting it setup.
Same, mine delivered around 10:30 this morning. Can't wait to get home from work to start playing around with them. Luckily someone was home to get them so they didn't sit on my porch all day.

I've pre-ordered S22 ultras to replace both my T-Mobile and AT&T lines. I've had the tracking info for a week now and it's just been on label created status but today both have changed to in transit and both show delivery ETA of Monday. So if it holds true it looks like they may be shipping out early again! Original estimated delivery was Friday the 25th for both.

I've pre-ordered my s22 Ultra. I was surprised at the trade in value offered on my 2 year old S20 Ultra.

Did some more exploring yesterday/last night and I think I spotted some LAA downtown but didn't get a chance to confirm before it went away in favor of mmW, which also went away pretty quickly.
Also saw another n66 site, as well as an n2 site, making AT&T the second carrier to run n2 DSS within a few miles of me.
I think at this point they won't be able to advertise anything flashy, but due to the sheer amount of CA they're throwing at customers here they can keep their network at 50+ Mbps until they can deploy both 3.45 and 3.7, and that's probably enough.
I'm surprised AT&T hasn't flipped any additional spectrum here to NR. For PCS that have 2 carriers and 3 once you get south of Louisville, and 3 AWS carriers. If they aren't going to try to swap blocks around with T-Mobile and Verizon to make their spectrum 1 large chunk then why not switch one of each AWS and PCS to NR. PCS is either 20x20 + 5x5 or 10x10 + 2 5x5, AWS is 2 10x10 + 5x5. I'm still hopefully that now Verizon owns Bluegrass Cellular they will work with AT&T, it would definitely be beneficial to both.

Finally! I wonder what took so long for them to push it out. I'm also surprised they still haven't enabled N2 and N66 as far as I can tell on the phone when there's been several reports of at least N66 on T-Mobile. From everything I've seen the plus model does support it. AT&T has had N2, N5, N66, and N260 enabled on my S20 Ultra for at least a year now. That one launched with only N5 and N260 but N2 and N66 were enabled with an update at some point.

Did see n66 DSS earlier tonight though.
Are they using DSS on B5 also? I'm wondering if they'll turn B5 LTE back on here with DSS once they widen N5 to 10x10 after shutting down WCMDA.

Looks like my MB gold at my office was finally decommissioned sometime last week. It was working the previous week and I was out of town last week. I came in today and it was powered down. I unplugged it and plugged it back in but it just keeps looping through trying to establish a connection. Looks like it's time to add it to our ewaste pile.

My 2016 Dodge Charger uses Sprint 3G for connectivity. I've received emails from Dodge about converting it to T-Mobile but honestly I haven't looked into it much yet. It's nice being able to track my car on GPS and lock/unlock/remote start from my phone but honestly I hardly ever used it that way. I'm also pretty sure my car doesn't offer a Hotspot like my truck does. Luckily they switched to AT&T later on, my 2018 Ram truck uses AT&T LTE.

does this phone still suck on n71 connections or is it just me? i swear it gets so bad for a day or so, then the phone gives up and i dont see it for several weeks only for it to return for another day or so and the cycle repeats.
I've never had any issues with N71 other than when SA first went live and it was flaky for about a month or so. My phone perfers N71 especially after either a reboot or airplane mode cycle and will usually hang out there until I start to use something more than a little data then it switches me to LTE with NSA N41. I had no issues holding only N71 from 10-15 miles away out in Southern Illinois this week (T-Mobile really needs some expansion out there).

Huh, interesting. Never expected to be a first in something like that. Someone in Michigan mapped a bunch of n78 but nothing else. I guess I'm the first showing they are at least broadcasting n2/n5/n66-SA, even if you can't fully connect to it.
Lucky! I just get "No Service" when I try to force anything SA on my AT&T phone. Hopefully it's a sign it's coming soon though!

I stand corrected. My AT&T phone is downloading a 2.6 GB update now. Still nothing on my T-Mobile phone.
Edit: This is the Android 12 update!
Still nothing out for my T-Mobile S20+. It's still says its up to day with the Nov 1st update.

Still no December update on either on my S20 phones. I wonder if they're just waiting on the Android 12 update to be next at this point.

AT&T and Verizon asked to delay firing up their C-Band spectrum again. I would usually side with safety on something like this but at the same time it's not like this came out of the blue. The FCC didn't just sell this spectrum on a moments notice, its likely been in the works for several years. It'll be interesting to watch how this plays out in the coming months. This is already the 2nd delay in launching the early clearing spectrum.

FYI, it seems like the band listing in service mode is not accurate. My N20U has n41-SA missing as well but I just connected to n41-SA on a new tower that went live this morning.
That's good to hear!

Whats the best way to report a network issue with T-Mobile? The tower covering my office has a bad B2 radio, it won't allow any data to pass when connected to it. If I force B66 on the same sector it works fine. Issue has been going on for a couple of weeks now. The is on a GMO power line site with older hardware.

Here's some pictures from a Dish install here in Louisville. Per the plans this is spec'd to have the JMA antennas but I believe these are something from Commscope. Its possible they can't get enough of the JMA antenna fast enough so they are subbing with these. This is what I've seen used in all the Dish sites I've found so far. I don't have an exact count but I'd say there are 20-30 around Louisville now.

Found a new Boost Mobile/ Dish site going up within my range. Very friendly crew. They said in my area 2000 of these sites are going up and they have been working seven days a week for months. These sites will not only service smart phones but also TVs over the same frequencies. The plan is to eliminate satellite dishes on people's homes. I also think this could put them in the ISP business.
They allowed me to take pictures:

Typically a site prep crew is responsible for the underground conduit, concrete pad, and cabinet placement, which is what these guys were doing.
Staring from the top, which is T-Mobile:
Middle is Sprint:
IMO the bottom is likely Dish (Boost Mobile, etc):
None of these links work for me.

This is the first site removal that I've seen them remove the entire tower, I was a bit surprised when I came across this yesterday.

Seems like they've accelerated the Sprint site removals around here. I'm also noticing a bunch of Dish sites going up, though I haven't seen any on a former Sprint tower yet so I don't think the two are related.

I just noticed, after the update SA N41 is missing now. It's just NSA N41 and SA/NSA N71. Wonder why they removed it. 🤦♂️
Just got the October update and it's still missing...

I've noticed around here that AT&T is no longer broadcasting their 5x5 secondary AWS1 carrier here on some sites, instead putting the 10x10 AWS3 carrier in its GCI pattern. I'm noticing it on new sites and recent rip and replace rebuilds so far. Wondering if it's just a cost cutting move or if they are positioning to trade that license or move that carrier to NR only. Most sites are still broadcasting all 3 AWS carriers though.

My T-Mobile phone got the update yesterday. SA N41 is still missing for now.
