  1. I think it's a toss up. Like I posted before, I got fiber backhaul 3g speeds while down there last weekend meaning it might just be a waiting game until lte integration comes. Could be tomorrow could be June. Sent from my Nexus 5
  2. I still can't believe that century link thought they could get away with that garbage copper backhaul. Either Sprint wasn't upfront about their needs or century link engineers are clueless/scammers. Sent from my Nexus 5
  3. I find it very revolting that they would send this text if they don't plan to live up to their promise. You know that a whole lot of people are going to see the "1 month" part of the text (that some received) and hold them to that. Why set yourself up for failure? Unless they are going to press a button and light up half of ABQ with LTE in an instant then I don't see how this promise will hold true.
  4. I figured as much... I was confused about the band 50 reading Sent from my Nexus 5
  5. hmmm. Could be, if so then we should see an acceptance soon. Sent from my Nexus 5
  6. you my friend may have found our first site! Airport site doesn't surprise me at all. Sent from my Nexus 5
  7. I'm in cruces for the weekend. Near I 10 and ave de mesilla I pulled a 3g signal with 85ms ping. Just waiting for lte integration! Sent from my Nexus 5
  8. I feel that some of the sites around town have to have fiber. The tests we've performed at some sites can't lie. Unless Sprint waits to integrate lte in a cluster here, I don't see a reason why we won't see lte in the next month or so. Maybe...hopefully...please... Sent from my Nexus 5
  9. It should. I believe the story is that all new Sprint phones will be tri-band Sent from my Nexus 5
  10. I haven't and I'm in the NE, but after hearing people are getting it all over the country I really don't think it's anything but a marketing ploy. Sent from my Nexus 5
  11. Take some pictures if you get a chance, as close up as possible to the new panels would be nice. Sent from my Nexus 5
  12. It's pretty tough here right now. The biggest engineer employers are the labs. Sandia will always look out of state to hire someone before in state, it's very odd. Los Alamos, where I worked previously, just doesn't have the money right now. There are some other small firms, but most need mid career folks. We'll probably end up somewhere else. I just hope it's somewhere with mountain biking and skiing Sorry for briefly side tracking the thread... Sent from my Nexus 5
  13. My wife (Electrical Engr) and I (Mechanical Engr) are looking to go anywhere. If you have connections or suggestions up there I am all ears.
  14. My bad about the site... My brain has been fried recently due to the never ending job search.
  15. I wouldn't be so pessimistic. Before Robert moved away he ran across someone installing fiber on the site on the hill just south of Santa Fe. I expect to see ABQ and SF to come online with LTE around the same time.
  16. It might have been sent to everyone connected to our core, aka everyone in our market. I, however, did not get it.
  17. Why would they do only that? If Sprint wants more rural coverage, what I'm assuming you implying they would gain by buying their edge only towers, they can just put their network on those towers and pay the lease to the tower owner. I don't quite see what you are getting at? Sent from my Nexus 5
  18. In the meantime, you could definitely see about getting an airave from Sprint for free. It will give you native coverage in your house so you don't have to worry about missing phone calls. Sent from my Nexus 5
  19. When there was smr testing at the Yale and Cesar Chavez site last fall I was picking up signal in basements all around UNM. Places that never had signal before. Sent from my Nexus 5
  20. Didn't we already talk about how smr won't penetrate our dang stucco houses with the wire mesh as well as higher frequency jk....kinda. It will help Sent from my Nexus 5
  21. We already know that new hardware has been installed at most of the sites in ABQ. We have seen some faster 3g around town even. With the turning on of smr voice, your will see an insane increase in voice coverage. Take my experience today for example, I was picking up a usable voice signal miles away from the broadcasting site. What this means for lte, don't know. What it could mean is that there are still NV crews in the area which could mean lte integration could, and I emphasize could, be imminent. Sent from my Nexus 5
