  1. Well phone is unlocked [emoji6]. Tho I don't wanna give up my Kickstarter plan. 29 bucks after tax and fees. You might not know any B71 there on T-Mobile yet?

It’s on in the rural areas. A 10 MHz channel and a 5 MHz channel. Saw it at Jay Cooke and up in Eveleth. Nothing in the city yet. You might want to activate an AT&T prepaid sim if you’re going to be up here longer than a few days. AWS is a 20 MHz carrier now and there’s lots of B14 and 66.

  2. Has Sprint done any triband upgrades to add B41 too Duluth yet? I'm going there next month and Sprint was terrible there in the past.

Nothing I’ve seen beyond what’s already there. Mall area is lacking it... where other carriers have tons of spectrum deployed and Verizon is even building small cells. Good luck.

  3. Comcast

They have big bucks [emoji385] and they already offer Mobile Phone Service.

As someone else mentioned, buying up Sprint would allow Comcast to stop paying Verizon for service.

If the Sprint+T-Mobile Merger does not get approved, I do kind of hope that Comcast can get Sprint, since that work for me personally, since I am already stuck with Comcast Cable TV/Internet/Home Phone.

Yeah, a Spectrum or Comcast merger would be ideal in my eyes. Deep pockets with generally good wireline networks. Perfect for backhaul to small cells.

Couldn’t find anything for the Pixel 1. Looks like it supports 3xDL CA... Likely nothing in UL CA, but others would know better than me.

  5. Maybe roaming. But yeah zero spectrum since att is very very limited

AT&T has the most spectrum by a wide margin under 2.5 GHz. What part of their spectrum portfolio is “limited”? 170 MHz on average nationally whereas T-Mobile and Verizon are around 100 MHz and Sprint ranges between 45-65 MHz at best.

  6. Nice pictures. Looks like someone's colocating a new Nokia / ALU build to the site. Based on the antenna and radio configuration I'm guessing Verizon is the likely culprit.

Verizon is Ericsson in MN. Only carrier that’s ALU/Nokia is AT&T. T-Mobile is Nokia only.

And those 4 are a fraction of what Sprint has up in the city. What is your point? That Verizon the largest US cell company has more than the smallest company. Sprint did not claim to have more than Verizon. My point was there are more than one. Where is the user generated maps for small cell deployment for that market. No one even uses cellmapper in that market. All the data is old for most towers 1 year + at least. Cellmapper will show small cells if you know what frequency.

Have you ever been down there? Sprint's small cell deployment is paltry compared to AT&T and Verizon's C-RAN deployments.

That's a fraction of what AT&T and especially Verizon have deployed down there. Verizon is practically on every street corner.

Is that the only 20x20 in Duluth? TMobile is 10x10 B2 and 4x4. Looks like they're also deploying B71 not sure what the current BW is. Vzw is 15x15 B4, 5x5 B2 10x10 B13 and also got 10x10 66 not sure if they deployed that yet

Yeah it is. T-Mobile’s widest channel is 10 MHz (AWS and PCS), Verizon has 15 MHz B4, but can go 20 MHz once they decide to attach the G block AWS-3 to it, and they also have J block (a 10 MHz block). Not used to seeing uploads this high so far north!

  10. AT&T widened their AWS from a 10x10 MHz channel (EARFCN 2100/66586) to a 20x20 MHz channel (EARFCN 2050/66536) after what I would guess is acquiring the A block license from Nsight in Duluth, MN. This happened Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
