@WiWavelengthAny chance you can do one of those antenna performance based on FCC filings for the iPhone 13 series? That would be amazing to see how far they've come with Qualcomm hardware and 5G!

Duluth was widened to 60 MHz n41 and I could muster about 550 peak. Quite impressive. B2 LTE is still stuck at 10 MHz, n71 is still 20 MHz, B71 is still 5 MHz. Hoping they'll start eating into that Sprint spectrum soon. They've got A block, B block, and G block. 35 MHz of potential DL spectrum but only 10 MHz on air for LTE.

AT&T has one of these permanently mounted outside of the MN state fair grounds. Seemed really impressive when I was being served off of it. Thousands of people at a music festival and I could muster 60 DL, whereas T-Mobile and Verizon outright didn't work.

Does this spectrum have a referred to name? Or will this just be referred to as C-Band once the auction is over instead of 3.45GHz?
I think it's thought of as more of an extension of CBRS and has similar power limits, auction process, etc... single bidders are limited to 40 MHz again as well.

T-Mobile has completely shut down B2 UMTS in the Duluth market but still hasn't widened PCS LTE. It's been over 2 weeks. LTE is currently at the 851 EARFCN, will be 874 once widened which is how the rural sites are. Also I can connect to 8115 EARFCN which is Sprint's A2 block on the 310-260 PLMN. n41 has been deployed at the Miller Hill Mall and the site near UMD which are both at 40 MHz. They roam on Sprint B25 in many spots of town they shouldn't be and won't roam in many spots they should be. Seems like a lot of growing pains.

In the last few days, T-Mobile shut down PCS UMTS in the Duluth, MN region. Areas on the outskirts of town have been widened to 15 MHz using EARFCN 874 (formerly 851 when 10 MHz). This becomes their first wideband LTE channel in the area. The other thing I noticed is they’re broadcasting LTE on EARFCN 1150, which is C block C4 and C5 and belong to Nsight / Cellcom. C3 remains untouched. This block of spectrum has never been deployed in the region as Nsight does not offer native coverage here. I can’t find any evidence of a lease agreement or sale to T-Mobile. Does anyone know how / why T-Mobile is using this spectrum?

Anyone have any updated info on Day 0 actions? Will Sprint customers be on T-Mobile's network through MOCN tomorrow morning?

Upperlayer indicator is what both T-Mobile and AT&T are using with their 5G rollouts. It allows them to show the 5G icon even if you aren't necessarily connected. A fun infographic if you're curious.

In case anyone was curious, iOS 13.4 enabled EVS-SWB to iPhones. How far back that goes I'm not sure, but iPhone 11 series and Xs for sure. I know that EVS support in general goes back to the iPhone 8.

DSS requires a 10x10 MHz channel, so it will be 5x5 NR and 5x5 UMTS until the UMTS shutdown in 2022. Who knows if they'll bother to deploy DSS at that point, with 2 5G iPhone releases happening by that point.

iPhone Xs and up if B71 is a concern, if your area has B12 then anything back to the 6s. Samsung S6 and newer are compatible with B12, and anything S8 and newer is able to be swapped to T-Mobile firmware via a software update. S9 and newer for B71. Everything back to the OG Pixel for B12, and Pixel 3 for B71.

Which part of ND do you live in? Fargo? If so they've got a boat load of spectrum out that way. Pretty much identical to what we have in Duluth.
B2: 10x10 MHz
B4: 20x20 MHz
B5: 12.5x12.5 MHz
B12: 10x10 MHz
B14: 10x10 MHz
B30: 10x10 MHz
B66: 10x10 MHz
Haven't seen any evidence of 29 being deployed out that way but we've got some sites with B29.

First and foremost, there are 0 signs of deprioritization in that speedtest. None.
Secondly, your pings will always be high in North Dakota. Their core is in Chicago, which is about 550 miles away (I'm assuming you're in Fargo, which could be way off base). T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon all have a network core in Minneapolis.
Thirdly, I visited Fargo in December. AT&T's performance was nothing short of fantastic. I averaged about 75 down and 20 up across the region, with about 250 tests run, all over the place. The kicker was my ping was about 90ms on average. If/when AT&T adds a core in Minneapolis, things will change for ping performance there. I think they are opposed because they don't own any wireline infrastructure down there. Here in Duluth, my pings average about 35 ms... with a 35 ms jitter. So 70ms. Hope this helps.

Take it from a Duluth native, heading up to Two Harbors, Gooseberry, Palisade Head, etc. Sprint is nonexistent and T-Mobile is awful as well. Super patchy and unoptimized... it will say you're connected to LTE but won't load. This happened on my iPhone XS, Galaxy S8+, and a LG G7. AT&T is really the only way to go that far north.

Why would Sprint want to show off how awful their LTE network is in actual use? Having 1 network run at 3 Mbps which 99.99% of your customers use seems pretty embarrassing to me.

T-Mobile is garbage in the city. Tests failed all over the place. I have them as eSIM right now. Verizon isn’t a bad option either but will cost more than AT&T and still isn’t quite as good. Yeah, the U1 S9 has B14.

Updating the status of the Duluth market. There is n41 deployed out in Spirit Valley, downtown, near UMD, near the Miller Hill mall, but there are still some gaps in coverage. At some point recently it was widened to 80 MHz and I've been able to get about 750 Mbps DL. UL seems to cap out at about 50 Mbps, no matter where I am in relation to any of the sites. LTE still seems to be 10 MHz B2 centered at 851 EARFCN. B71 is 5 MHz, n71 is 20 MHz, and B66 is still 10 MHz. If you're in range of n41 the network is pretty great, but it really starts to show it's dark side when you're on sites without.
