  1. In Champaign, IL, AT&T has the densest network although they have been really sloppy about getting all of their spectrum on air on every site. Some sites are L700/L800/L1900, others have AWS and/or WCS LTE live too but lack CLR LTE, etc. Overall AT&T’s network reliability is second to probably only Sprint for it seems the equipment AT&T is using has considerably poorer range/propagation than the equipment Sprint is using. When broadcasted from the same location at the same elevation and angle, AT&T L700 drops out when Sprint L800 is at -112 to -114 RSRP. That being said, AT&T devices do hold onto LTE for dear life when it is available. Their qRxLevMin on lowband LTE is set to -124 dBm, and if I ever drop to WCDMA/HSPA, my iPhone always jumps back to LTE in 15-20 seconds. T-Mobile lacks lowband spectrum in the Champaign market which immediately disqualifies them (for indoor coverage is challenging) and Verizon’s site density is awful.
  2. Up in Seattle, AT&T has 10x10 B12, 5 MHz B29, 5x5 B5, 20x20 B2 and 10x10 B30 live on pretty much every site—even wooden utility poles. B14 is slowly starting to pop up but their deployment is definitely still in its early stages.
  3. Even if the merger goes through, 25+25 CA will be helpful if: The combined company has more than 20 MHz FDD of PCS spectrum in a market The combined company wants to run multiple PCS carriers (one including the G block and one excluding the G block) due to the fact that not all T-Mobile devices support B25 but they all support B2 The combined company’s PCS holdings are not contiguous in a market
  4. Hi all, I've recently become pretty active on CellMapper and have begun locating most of the towers in areas I'm familiar with. Something I've noticed, though, is that sometimes CellMapper seems to "lose" tower locations. A lot of times, a tower I locate will go back to its calculated location a few days later. Has anyone else experienced this?
  5. 41+41 UL CA is already live almost nationwide. 25+25 UL CA is possible although it isn’t live today. 25+41 is a bit trickier although we may see it at some point down the road...
  6. I can’t find VoLTE on the coverage map...where are you seeing that?
  7. The coverage map was updated today and it includes T-Mobile roaming as Extended! Take a look: http://coverage.sprint.com
  8. Hopefully we’ll see some PCS spectrum swapping between T-Mobile and Sprint in other major markets. Chicago, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Boston and the rest of Massachusetts are all possible...
  9. I’ve thought about this too. It would be pretty revolutionary if Dish went ahead and did this—I’m just not sure what the laws surrounding doing this are...I know Sprint was forced to restrict Airave usage to within some number of miles away from the nearest macro-serviced area...
  10. Yes, that is correct. This is not necessarily true. You can drop from LTE to CDMA and drop the call (as CDMA pretty much always has better range and propagation than LTE at the same frequency). I’m curious what signal level LTE gives up at while on a VoLTE call.
  11. That’s good to hear. Have you tested how weak (dBm-wise) LTE signal can get before dropping to CDMA while on a VoLTE call? I believe you can see dBm values updated every second or so in the Intel field test...
  12. I don’t believe a static IP would help. You mentioned that call quality was not good in low signal areas, but did you experience any/many dropped calls?
  13. This is correct. On iOS 12.1 all iPhone 8s and above should have Sprint 34.1 while older models should have Sprint 34.0. On the iOS 12.1.1 beta, iPhone 8s and newer should have Sprint 34.5.5, which supports VoLTE.
  14. Is there an updated list of these markets, perhaps in the Premier Sponsors section? EDIT: Just found it in the Honored section
  15. If you open the PDF document attached to the article it says “only PCS spectrum is being leased” in the first paragraph. Heres the link again if you need it: https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/t-mobile-inks-533m-reciprocal-long-term-spectrum-lease-deal-sprint
