Well, yes and no. What are you getting for speed tests? If you're getting over 1-2 mbps down and 500+ kbps up, then that's an improvement and it usually accompanies sites that are now close. However, last time I was at Don Miller Dodge over a month ago, right next to the Tokay tower, I was pulling 2mbps+ downloads from that tower on eHRPD 3Geez. I was out that way over the weekend and wasn't getting that, so perhaps an improvement is a good sign???
I got 2.5 mbps down and 1 mbps up this morning. Now that more people are on the network, it's back to 0.75 mbps down and 0.07 mbps up. This makes me a said panda

The 3g signal is way better this morning on the west side of Madison. I know that really does not matter for LTE, but maybe Sprint is ramping up the testing.

I was surprised last night when I was driving on East Washington and my phone flipped over to LTE by Ella's Deli. I had the signal for a few seconds, but that is at least promising. The signal the rest of the way out of Madison on East Washington was normal though (no signal). Hopefully that is a sign that the towers are being worked on and Sprint my actually flip the switch soon.

I did not take any pictures (I was driving around for work). I did not get out to High Point road today. I will be out that way tomorrow and can check my phone then. There was nothing going on in the Hilldale area (I was at the radio shack on University and had horrible 1x signal (which switched to roaming). Verona road and 12/18 has nothing for a signal (still), and the signal is still horrible in the research park area. I was on the East side of Madison yesterday (the sprint store) and I was still roaming there.
-
I drove around the west side/near west side today. Nothing being done, no increase in signal, so it looks like no luck on the west side. I'm rather shocked that Sprint did not fire up the tower on Tokay Blvd. That one has been done for awhile now, and still nothing.

Well, I don't know what is going on today, but I am not getting any data or signal on the west side of Madison. I called into Sprint to find out, and according to the Cust. Care manager, he does not even see a tower that's on Tokey Blvd or any towers on the West side. According to what they are seeing, everything is fine.
How can this be when that tower has been a Sprint tower for years?
-
I just checked the area around Tokey Rd, and still nothing for LTE. I hope Sprint hurries up and flips the switch on..

Holy suprise for my commute this morning. I picked up LTE at the Badger interchange heading south on 90/94-39. Kept the signal until ~2 miles from the beltline exit. The signal was pretty strong...couldn't do a speedtest or anything because I was making a phone call....off course, as soon as I got onto the beltline, I went to 1RTT for signal strength....but..maybe the towers on the East side of Madison next to the interstate are finally in testing mode.....

New to this forum as I'm from the Milwaukee market. Can anyone tell me if the Wisconsin rapids area has LTE active? Going there next week for a all day meeting at the library.
I was in the Rapids area today, and I did not see anything...
I'm currently in the Merrill area, and I get the random shot of LTE and then back to 3g, which is huge...I was up here last weekend, and I did not see anything....today, I was able to hold LTE for about 30 minutes...
-
I'm with Dequardo also. The East side of Madison is horrible...I drive through there all the time, and I don't see any work in the area. There's nothing around the Beltline...
-
Yikes. Was just at East Towne in Madison and data was completely unusable. I hope it is more because of upgrades being done vs. being really that bad.

Well, you have to go with the second option, service is just that bad. My wife goes to school at MATC, and most of the time, she can't use her phone to make calls or send a text...I send messages to @sprintcare pretty much every day because of it.
-
I wonder if Sprint is working on stuff on the East side of Madison. I had LTE in Sun Prairie, but no horrible 3g (speeds around 200). Usually when I see speeds like that, work is being done on the towers. Anyone have the skinny?

Ropes on my tower today when I came home from work! No workers that I could see still around, no new equipment up yet. Again the base of this tower is very difficult to see into. Fitchburg tower at Seminole Hwy and PD.

Those ropes are most likely for the drivers that are stuck on the beltline because of the construction
Hopefully they start working on that tower, and start turning on other towers. My phone was unusable last night when I was stuck on the betline going east by Verona Road.

the site in Cedar Creek is 3g 800 and 4g complete.

The site I was talking about was just south of Merrill (by stark automotive, Old Glory Fireworks).

I was north of Wausau today. My phone was blinking in and out of LTE just south of the 51 Truck stop. Hope they get that tower up and running soon....

I fully expect within the city limits of Madison to be last in the market. Madison is infamous for not being business friendly. My company developed the Hyatt hotel downtown. The City was an absolute nightmare.

Perfect! Just what I wanted to hear....so glad there's all sorts of other markets that have LTE loving going on....maybe I need to start complaining to the city about it

yes there is, I was very impressed that they lite it up on the west side. it looked like east then slowly moving west.
Now it has to get on the entire beltline and downtown.....
-
Well, it's almost the end of Aug, and I really don't see any more updates for the Madison area. Data is still very rough on the West side of town (research park area). Downtown it's non-existent. I wonder if Robert has heard anything when work is suppose to be done in Madison.....

I finally got a taste of the LTE from the Rimrock Road tower last night. I had to do the airplane mode trick to get the signal, but the speedtest came up with 20 megs down/10 megs up. I wish I could get speeds like that in Sun Prairie..Oh well, at least it's somewhat here in the Madison area. It would be nice if everything was up and rocking by the end of the month so I could actually use my phone at the Badger game.....
-
I took the beltline into work this morning. I did not see any LTE the entire drive. I had the senslory app running, along with SignalCheck Pro. Nothing, nadda, zip for an LTE signal.....LTE is in Sun Prairie (granted, it's more like 3g speeds, but it shows up as LTE). That signal drops out and switches to 3g by American Parkway.
The attached screen shots are from tests I ran at the Aquatic Center in Sun Prairie. The NV panels are on the water tower there (I was about 100 meters away from the panels)
-
LTE is up and running in Middleton....but nothing on the west side of Madison, downtown, or eastside. Some LTE on the beltline is great because in the afternoon, the signal was horrible. Now, if Sprint can get the other areas up and running, that would be great!
-
Ha, use your phone downtown at all during a Badger Saturday!!! yeah right!!! I used to live by the Big Ten and it was impossible to use a phone that entire day. It doesn't help that there aren't many towers there at all really.
So, I work right next to Camp Randall and I'm uncertain about the status of that tower, on Old University on one of those apt buildings. I can't get a good look at the panels. The other one is over near Brittingham park, unsure of that status, and then one on an apt building off normal University Ave down near Park...again, no idea of that status as I can't see the antennas.
I do like your constant posts to Sprint's twitter accounts!!! I'll do my best to ramp up that pressure with ya.
Glad you like my posts on Twitter! I'm sure it really does nothing, but I feel if I keep being the squeeky wheel, then maybe they will toss some grease on it, and let us know what's going on.

Ha, I called that tower the other day. It's on the Rimrock exit, there are antenna there, clearly it has everything else. I spotted those RRUs from a long way away. It is NOT broadcasting, as I just drove past it. The Tokay tower is still not accepted, but Robert has at least marked it in progress, I'll assume based off my pictures (YES!).
That's one on State, one in middleton, one on the beltline and the tokay tower that are poised (2 of 4 accepted). This doesn't make any sense to why these aren't active!!!!! The guy at the Tokay tower said that the backhaul for that tower (at least) was active and ready, however it clearly didn't pass inspection if Robert hasn't received accepted status yet.....
I'm back from vacation and unless I waste too much time playing with my new Chromecast that should be delivered around noon, I'll check out a few more towers on Madison's Eastside as I have a birthday party to attend on the dirty east side. Then one in Oregon, so I'll at least have LTE. Ah kids.....
Yeah, the speeds in Madison have been horrible all week. There were lots of times where I could not make a phone call or send a text. Hopefully the LTE will be fired up soon, because with football season starting real soon, it would be nice to be able to use my phone at a badger game (besides as a paperweight)

Well, there was nothing on 12/18 and Seminole Hwy today (10/23). I was roaming on the US Cellular network. I do have a faint 3g signal at work (Whitney Way), but if I move around the building, I go back to roaming. I don't know if this is a good sign or not. Come to think about it, my service was pretty much unusable today (even in Sun Prairie). I was roaming pretty much the entire drive in. Hope that means they are getting the last bit of work done to flip the switch for LTE.
