  1. Has the problem with group messages coming across as single messages been addressed?  The solution I saw on the Sprint page was to remove third party messaging apps.  Suggestions?

  2. Chicago a Spark market or what?  I guess this comes down to- tell them you're getting it, wait till you're almost done and say it's almost done, or say you have it and then scare people away.  This conversation has been had before.

I have Spark , I had some great areas with 30 something downloads and I am OK with that.  I can deal with not being lightning fast as long as it's consistently fast.  I'm just concerned because this has been around the corner for a long time and I'm starting to worry how long it will take to fire up my city.  I do understand Chicago being so large and the US Cellular signal gives them a bigger hurdle in Chicago.

  3. I was visiting Chicago during the Memorial Day weekend and it's definetly not a 4G paradise oasis.  I pulled down some decent downloads in certain locations, but uploads......yawn.  I know it's still in process, but makes me wonder how long it's going to be for everything to be taken care of 90 miles north in Milwaukee.

  4. An FAQ list for T-Mobile employees cited a situation in which a new T-Mobile customer took advantage of the operator's early termination fee credit, trading in more than one AT&T Mobility AT&T (NYSE: T) phone at a T-Mobile store. The customer subsequently complained that their residential coverage was worse with T-Mobile, but T-Mobile no longer had the customers' AT&T handsets and, thus, could not return them to the customer.

This is very interesting.  Again, I think it is important we watch T-Mobile churn.  How many are lured from AT&T only to be unsatisfied with the coverage.

The same thing happened to my friend who I tried to get to jump over to Sprint on my Framily plan, but it was not due to coverage (it was a porting issure).  His IPhone was traded in and gone.  I guess it kind of encourages people to stay, but satisfied customers do not feel trapped and they give personal referrals.

  5. My account is filled up despite the porting fiasco.  I think I want a 50 percent cut of all other plans I put together. There is a lot I learned, by now I think I could answer almost any question someone could throw at me.  I'm helping two other people set up Framily plans, one framily plan is with people I could not because I reached the max--that sucks.  A regular referral plan would be great.

  6. Don't feel so proud now.  My friend coming over from AT&T tried to port over and there was an error on Sprint's end.  He was being nice to me so he went to the store the next day and he tried to do it again, despite having bad experiences with Sprint's billing in the past.  The second attempt also failed, I don't know why it failed again.  I just lost a $75 referral, he just lost his Iphone that they gave him $34 in in store credit and now he has to pay a $30 some dollar return fee.  Sine I'm down to 9 people the monthly payment won't change, but that extra 75 would be nice.  They need to get it together.

  7. $675 is mine due to this Framily Plan promotion.  8 people on Verizon and 1 on ATT that were not happy with their phone bills were not hard to find.   5 months ago I would have never referred them.  I switched off my lifetime unlimited plan, which I'm not so sure I should have done, but I have about a year of free phone service thanks to the $75 incentive.

Looks like this is replacing the "Sprint will pay your ETF" promo that ends today.

On Sprint's Framily plan promotion online it says the ETF payment continues until June 8/10/12--I forget which date it is.  I went to the store and they said that promotion already ended and when I showed them the online advertisement (from Sprint) they said, oh they must have extended it.   Clarification.

  9. I'm trying to save my friends some money and see if Sprint is a good option for them in the Appleton area.  There are two people that would consider going on the Framily plan but I don't want to steer them wrong and have them get bad coverage.  One person is one block east of North Washington and East 1st St.  The other is right by the Fox River Mall.   I've checked coverage maps, but personal experience is always better.  How is it looking around there?

  10. If you took the Kit Kat update you can no longer access the hidden menu that allows you to set your phone to LTE mode only. Did that answer your question?

    Yes.  Thank you.

  11. Well none of those things were said to be in the update so don't be too disappointed man. :)

Once rooted base is out, I'll slap hidden menu in there and see if the underlying hooks are still in there. They didn't put Hidden Menu in the Flex from the get go.

Not correct, it was accessible via dialer code 5689#*980#

So can it be set to LTE now?  Or does the "it was accessible" mean no longer.

  12. Has anyone ever encountered an issue opening pdf files with this phone? Adobe and the included polaris office refuse to open my work pdf files. It just gives an error. The same files open just fine on my pc and my iPhone. Any ideas?

Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapata

Yes.  The person who I work for sent out our schedule.  My friend and I, who bought his phone the same time as me, received the file but somehow messed it up.  Everyone else received the schedule at the same time and got it correctly.
