Just reproduced the handoff again on my way home. I started the call on Sprint, and it handed off to US Cellular!
-
Are u positive you started the call in sprint coverage and were not roaming when rhe call started? Ive seen my galaxies roam and hang on to the roaming network even once they are back in native.
I am 100% positive. I looked at the signal, and I was near the Sprint tower in Hartsville when I initiated the call.

An interesting thing happened while I was leaving work today and heading home. I just recently moved to Charlotte, NC (Matthews, suburb). I started a call on the Sprint network in Hartsville, SC, and figured that it would drop once I drove out of Sprint native coverage and the call continued. I decided to look at the display, and it showed that I was roaming! I didn't know that it was possible.
The roaming area I drove into is US Cellular. Any ideas? This is the first time that I didn't drop a call while going from Native coverage to Roaming.

Yeah, I saw. However, rest assured the site is 3G/4G complete. Fiber is installed and all.
If you look again, it's on the latest map refresh. ;-)

Doesn't look like that Darlington site was on the acceptance reports from Tuesday, as it still has an in progress white pin. I'm wondering if it will take a few days to get to Robert in the reports he receives? On another note, does anyone know how to figure out which sites were the latest accepted on the new maps? There used to be a search bar on the top right of the old maps, but I haven't seen one on the new maps. I love how fast the new maps are though!

And I figured Darlington would be one of the early ones in the state to go 4G, there is a racetrack there...lol can't have Sprint sponsoring the Races with no 4G lol

Well, the Bojangles Southern 500 was last weekend and there was no LTE in Darlington. They did have a COW there however, and speeds were pretty good during the race. (0.80-1.5 Mbps up)

1900 MHz currently in most areas, few 800 SMR. Soon to be 1900, 800 SMR for both LTE and CDMA in most places.

The accepted LTE site in Columbia (I-26/I-77) is ready hardware wise, but it hasn't been "switched" on for LTE at the Columbia MSC. Waiting for both this site, and the Darlington one to be "switched' on.

I'm getting a message now that says "Sorry! Your browser doesn't support Sensorly map functions" Why might this be happening now?

What do you mean by core? Does that mean downtown?
According to the maps in the sponsor section - there is a site out by 77 and 26 that they have marked as 4G accepted - rode out there earlier today and no LTE.
Do you know if there is a method to where they work? Densely populated areas first moving to the less dense next? Or where ever regulations (city/county/whatever) allow them to work? Or other factors based on logistical issues or opportunities?
Drove by the site yesterday. I stopped and got out to look at the cabinets and get a closer look at the tower. It is completely offline. (No 1900 CDMA, 1x, or LTE).

No fencing around it?
Yes, there is just a building there at the base of the tower.

I mapped some new LTE areas around Newton and Hickory, NC this past Friday and Saturday. None of the data has appeared on the Sensory maps, even though I made sure the reporting data was sent. This isn't the first time I've mapped an area and Sensory has not updated with the information. It is extremely frustrating, not to mention a waste of fuel if it's all for nothing.
Are there any steps I can take to make sure the data I'm collecting will be properly uploaded to Sensorly and available on the maps in a timely manner?
Sensorly seems to be having issues. I am having a hell of a time accessing the site, and it's been that way for at least a day now.

Is that the Site without a compound by the exit on i20?
Compound?

The Bojangles Southern 500 is going to be held at the Darlington Raceway in Darlington, SC a week from today. (May 10th-12th). The tower near the raceway and another around Darlington has the new panels and RUU's up, but not broadcasting LTE as of today (May 3rd). I wonder if they will get them completed, up and running by the time the race is starting. They do have a COW already placed outside the raceway ready to be fired up next week.

This site will probably be the first LTE accepted site in the SC Market according to what the guy said with AcLu. Everything is there, they are just finishing up and waiting for AT&T to run about 15 feet of fiber. The 1900 MHz is offline right now as well. He said that it won't be long. This site is set to go 800/1900/LTE any day now.

Noticed New AlcaLu RRU's installed at the cell site Down town Columbia near the water reservoir at the intersection of 126 and Huger St. Fiber is installed (Palmetto Net), but not hooked up yet. Also spotted fiber at the site by the BCBS building at 77 and 20. Also spotted Compact cells being replaced with full blown 4.0 s behind the flea market on #1 Fingers crossed!
Which flea market? I've been to the I-77/I-20 site. Talked to the guys installing the panels. Waiting on new cabinets and fiber to be installed there.

Sent your way! Thanks for all of your hard work!

I've noticed that the tower at McKee Rd and Providence Rd is listed as 4G complete, but there is yet to be an LTE signal from it.
-
The tower pictured above in Darlington...I made a second visit to the site last Friday, and gave a closer look at the base station cabinets and noticed that the wires from the new panels mounted on the tower are capped off. They ran all wires from the panels down the tower to the cabinets in the conduit, but didn't hook it up yet to the cabinet. Hopefully soon!

I tried to do a bit of mapping in Ferndale but had a hard time holding an LTE signal. The 9 Mile and Hilton site is definitely not up, but the 696/75 one seems to be (although I drove right next to it on the 75N to 696W ramp and stayed on 3G). My LTE drops as soon as I go south of 9 Mile on the 75 service drive...the tower is only a mile away, is LTE range really that limited?
Most likely it's because you have an EVO LTE.

Definitely GSIII. I have the Note II and it's amazing.

Here are two sites I stopped by today, the first one being Darlington, SC. Within the last week or so, Sprint has installed the new panels and RRU's on the second rack!

This site is in Florence, SC. Still has the legacy panels, but seen below, looks like new RRU's:
