  1. Question about the unlimited data promotion for $100 for five lines. I had an online rep try to get me to switch my 40GB share plan to unlimited. I currently have 5 lines. Said I could get the promotion price. I told him it would save me about $11 a month until the promotion ends March of next year then the price would almost double. He said Sprint should have another promotion by then. I asked if he could guarantee I would be eligible for the offer. He said I would. I guess my question is for those who’ve been on the promotion long enough has anyone let it expire and have to pay more or did you get on another promotion price?

Instead of replying to all those who expressed their thoughts to my post I figured I would just respond to my initial post. Everyone gave me some good things to think about (like 5g). However currently we only use half our 40 GB pool and when it’s depleted we would simply drop down to 2g speeds until the next cycle. 2 of the lines are for 2 of my children who i have capped at 3GB each via Sprints online tool.

Right now for 5 lines I only pay $111 before taxes and fees. I know it’s a sweet heart deal that includes an employee discount and may not last forever but again my thinking is I would only save $11 a month for a year then it would go up to $190 or more. Do not want to take that risk unless I absolutely had too and right now I do not.

  3. Hey all, got a carrier settings update to Sprint 28.4 today. Would recommend that all iPhone users head to Settings>General>About and hover there until it asks you to update your carrier settings. I've heard this update contains some exciting stuff...

    ...like whaaaat?

  4. I think most people like the new red iPhone. Apple just dropped the ball on the screen bezel color for 99% of buyers, though. I'd be seriously interested in switching if the front was black.

There are cheaper options than this, but here his a Zagg screen cover to turn it black for you:

  5. Agree.

These 12 month month promos aren't creating customer loyalty. I still regret not jumping to sprint back when they had the promo that permanently waived line fees on the large data buckets. I seem to recall I could have brought all 4 lines back on a 40GB shared bucket for like $120. As long as the competition continues to offer buyout costs, 12 month promos just entice the customer to jump carriers rather than face a $100 price increase. And regardless of the permanent rate being comparable to tmobile's rate plans, we're not apples to apples since Tmobile now includes taxes and fees in the rate.

I got the 4 lines with 40 GB for $120 promotion after switching from ED 1500...with my employee discount I pay $96 a month [emoji3]

  6. Pretty aggressive promo for new customers: http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/sprint-announces-five-lines-of-unlimited-data-talk-and-text-for-90month.htm

    Line 1 is $50/month

    Line 2 is $40/month

Lines 3-5 are free until March 31, 2018.

    Fine Print:

Savings until March 31, 2018; then $60/mo. for line 1 and $30/mo. lines 3-5. Mobile optimized: video streams at up to 480p+ resolution, music at up to 500kbps, gaming at up to 2Mbps. Data deprioritization during congestion. Pricing shown with $5/mo./line AutoPay discount applied within two invoices. Requires eBill and new account activation. Other monthly charges apply.

Hope that fine print isn't too fine for the customer to read:

"Savings through March 31, 2018. After the promotional period is over, customers will pay the additional $10/month for first line, the second line remains at $40/month and each of lines 3-5 are $30/month – with AutoPay."

$90/month for 5 lines goes up to $190/month after a about a year.  That's over a 110% increase in your monthly bill!

  7. I've basically been having the same problem. We STILL haven't gotten our trade in credits for our phones, and we did them back in SEPTEMBER! I've been having to deal with the reps in the store that we did our trade-ins at because apparently phone support can't help because the store's the one that handled the trade-ins. The store rep eventually contacted her manager (and then assistant manager after her manager wasn't responding). She emailed her assistant manager the last time I was in store and she CC'd me into the email so that I would get an update when she did (you can go a few posts back to see my full explanation of what happened). That was 12 days ago. I have school Monday thru Thursday from 1 PM to 10 PM and I'm not waking up early to go and deal with Sprint's crap lol, so I'm going to the store AGAIN on Friday, this time with my father (the account holder) so hopefully I should have more leverage. We have now made 5 payments on my father and sister's phones, and 4 payments on my phone, so we've now paid nearly $300 over the past few months that we shouldn't have had to pay.

The shitty part is that we can't even threaten to leave because of this, because if we left we would either have to pay off the devices or take the credit hit of not paying for them, which both suck. We're currently paying nearly $100 more per month than we should be, which is honestly ridiculous. I wouldn't have convinced my Dad to do this if I knew it was going to be such a hassle. I've been losing my mind over this for the past 3 months.

What I'm starting to think is that this promotion was only supposed to be for iPhone 7 32 GB.  I thought when I ordered my phones the promo stated free iPhone 7 or $650 of credits towards any model (which is what T-Mobile also offered) but I don't see that anywhere on my searches for the promo.  I purchased 2 iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB models thinking the promo applied to them as well.

Either way Sprint has two of my phones and I have not had the credits show up on any bills automatically.  I've had to call with each bill and have a credit applied manually.  This past call the last rep I spoke to said it should show up next bill.  We will see.

I suggest going to the store and asking for your trade-in phones back and see their reaction.  Or else you need compensation from Sprint in some form.

  8. If you haven't tried this already, try tweeting @marceloclaure and @sprintcare. They are usually pretty responsive to customer complaints. Hope you get in contact with someone who can fix your problem and restore your sanity ASAP!

I did send a Facebook message to Sprint care and they claimed the last rep noted that the credit would be applied starting next billing cycle.

My biggest issue is that if I wasn't so diligent on calling, Sprint would have gotten two free phones. If the promotion was not legit, not once has anyone from Sprint contacted me via email nor phone as to why I sent them the two phones. All I've gotten is a notification that the warehouse received the phones in October. And they were not on lease or under contract.

  9. I am so frustrated with Sprint right now.  My 5th bill rolled out since I purchased my iPhone 7 Plus's via the trade up promotion back in Sept. and it still does not have the promised installment billing credits on it.  I have called every month since Oct. asking about the credit and every time I'm promised it will show up on the next bill.

At this point Sprint has two of my phones and the only credit they've given me for them is a $54 credit a rep applied to my account last month.

I just spent almost 3 hours being bounced around from department to department, foreign rep to foreign rep, with no one being able to help me out. The only American I spoke to started out helpful but then essentially told me that the promo was for leases only and that if I can't provide him proof it was for installment billing then he can't apply the credits.  He claims he Googled it and couldn't see anything related to installment billing credits.  I told him there are pictures of the promotion on Google search results but wouldn't budge.  I asked him where my traded in phones were, he said they were probably sold by now.

After being disconnected I called the cancelation department, another foreign rep, who claims his supervisor has agreed to apply the promo code and to trust him that it will show up next month.  He said he was going to apply $100 credit for this month's bill for all the trouble, which by the way doesn't make up for the 3 other full price payment's I've made.

I am at my wits end!

  10. Never never never give your device back to your carrier.

Sell it on ebay/craigslist, or give/gift it to a family member or friend.

    Much less headache.

It was part of a promotion where you would get way more value for the phones then what you could get on eBay or Craigslist.

  11. A quick question for anyone who took advantage of Sprint's trade-in credit for the iPhone 7 when coming from a 6 or newer. Did any of you do the trade-in in-store? (I know some of you did it online, which was a different process so not really any help here) If so, has your monthly bill credit shown up on your account? We got an iPhone 7 and two 7 Plus's back in September when they came out, and traded in two 6 Plus's and a 6 so that we would get the monthly bill credits, but have still yet to get the credits. We are now on monthly payment 4 on two of the devices and payment 3 on the other one, so it has definitely been 2 billing cycles since we turned in the phones, and yet, there still hasn't been a bill credit applied. Can anyone help with that?

Currently trying to get in contact with Sprint Customer Support but the automated answering prompt has no good options for my issue, and the chat option isn't showing up on their site for me. I just want to talk to a representative, is that too much to ask?! I appreciate any help that you guys can give.

I'm in the same boat.  My promo trade-in phones were accepted by the warehouse October 4th.

I've contacted Sprint several times, even via the disconnect option, without much help.  Every time the rep would say next billing cycle.  Last month one rep did process ticket to have the installment credits start applying to my account.  I called in last night to check the status since the new bill rolled out without the credits showing up and that rep the told me that the ticket was processed on Nov 29 but not in time to be reflected on Dec's bill.  So he went ahead made an adjustment for the credit amount for this month and is confident it will be on next month's bill.  I explained to him I was told several times I would also receive a large credit for the previous month's full installment payments that I have made and he said that was not on the ticket but that he would notate that.  He told me if that's not on next months bill he told me to call in to have it adjusted.

Sprint has had two of my phones for almost 3 months.  And I say my phones because they have not held up their end of the bargain and provided me with the installment credits they promised.  Very frustrating to have to keep calling.

This promotion, along with the Note 7 recall, has apparently overwhelmed their turn-in/trade-in process.  It also took longer than normal for them to process a lease turn-in for me as well.

  12. My trade-in phones were received a while ago, prior to my last 2 bills, but have not received the credit yet.  I know Sprint said the credit will be applied in 1-2 billing cycles, but was just checking to see if anyone's had shown up yet.

I purchased the phones online and mailed the old phones in using the label I printed off of the buy back site.
