  1. If you do have the newest Google now version try holding your finger down on any home screen, go to settings, then voice,  then "Ok Google" Detection, and see if there is an option to check "From any screen".

Can someone tell me why Google now 3.5 is not doing the any screen feature? Its the new version of Google now but the setting for any screen is absent. 1080p YouTube is unavailable too but my G2 has both of these features.

Never mind. Sorry didn't see the part where you specifically said it wasn't there. My bad..

  3. Check the PCI when connected to 25 and then when connected to 26. If they are the same, 26/25 are likely coming from the same tower. If they are coming from the same tower and band 26 is weaker than 25 then band 26 is not optimized yet.

I checked the PCI and on band 25 and it's always the same but on band 26 it keeps changing.

  4. Today I noticed my signal on both band 25 and 26 have been fluctuating significantly yesterday and today in the same room in my house. Does this sound like there optimising signals on a tower around me. Not even sure which towers each band is coming from but band 26 seems to be slightly (not always) lower signal strength. Also the speeds from band 26 are much faster on the upload than download. Averages around 3 down and 5-7 up. My signal strength on band 26 is around 106 dBm and 100 dBm on band 25.

  5. Was at Busch wildlife last night and had LTE but I had to force LTE or else it would fall to 3g. Was getting a very weak LTE signal but was pulling around 2-3 Mbps just aggravating that it kept pushing me down to 3g when signal strength on 3g was just as bad and data was worse than LTE. Why won't the network keep me on LTE? Also band 25 and 26 seemed around the same signal strength which I hope improves even more.

  6. I think it was a little early to call St. Louis a Spark market already. There's certainly Band 41 available in certain places, but it's not widespread enough. Downtown is probably decently done.

Things will get better latter this summer once Nokia goes full steam ahead on new Band 41 installs on existing Sprint sites.

Im just wondering is the coverage map that their showing online here what it will be or what their claiming it is? If its what their claiming its like now its way more on the map than it actually is. If its what it will be in future then id be kinda disappointed because my house is right out the spark coverage line. But I know that Wimax use to work outside at my house so I wouldn't see why spark wouldn't.

  7. I had some really positive experiences with US Cellular in St. Louis and beyond (thanks to roaming agreements, I'm sure). Call quality was exceptional, data blew ass, but you'd at least have a signal. I got out right after my 2 year contract was up and hopped right on AT&T for the Unlimited Data iPhone plan, which also sucked balls at the time. Then, into Sprint's wide open arms, with data that also sucked balls.

I'm really happy that Sprint is now doing orders of magnitude better in the data department.

This could be related to the HD voice rollout, or maybe just bad luck with signals/towers being configured reaching my house, but both my wife and I had every call we placed on our phones inside drop after 3-5 seconds over the past two days. Very un-Sprint, but we're sure it'll get worked out soon.

Yeah Us. Cellular was great call quality and coverage wise but they didn't even have 3g in St. Louis for much of my time with them. The main reason I had them is because we have a place at Mark Twain Lake and they were the best around that area and okay in St. Charles area. Now with Sprint I have to roam on Us Cellular while I'm at the lake.

  8. The St. Louis area didn't receive as much spectrum as Chicago did. There is a second PCS carrier live there, but most of the acquired spectrum in St. Louis was applied towards EVDO and CDMA, which did not leave enough for a second PCS carrier.

As more and more LTE devices are sold, Sprint will refarm PCS spectrum for LTE, possibly as early as late summer.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Just glad im not on Us Cellular anymore...

  9. No evidence of more PCS carriers has been found. Someone would have to go out with a spectrum analyzer to detect it.

Not that we are aware of yet.

I thought the spectrum bought from Us Cellular a little over a year ago was going to be used for that. I was a Us Cellular customer before Sprint bought this markets customers.
