  1. Based on current conditions I'd say no. You'd have to talk with retention, but I think two weeks is the most a CSR or store rep can move a date forward.

I will call. can't i just pay the ETF to get me out of contract, than upgrade.

  2. I am eligible for an upgrade on October 1st. Prob mid july is when i can afford to get a new phone, the gs3.

Would I be able to get an early upgrade since it is only 4 months early,?

Well folks, it's official. In a press release sent out just moments ago, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy SIII, easily one of the most anticipated smartphones this year, will be available on five major carriers in the US beginning this month.

The carriers, which are expected to make individual announcements in the "coming weeks," include AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and US Cellular. And yes, the SIII's design will be consistent across all carriers. Feast your eyes on some official (non-carrier specific) press images below:

For those wondering, some of the rumors we've heard about the US' Galaxy SIII are indeed true. The device will indeed feature

2GB internal RAM, a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor at 1.5GHz, and (unsurprisingly), a 4.8" HD Super AMOLED display, Gorilla Glass 2, and a 2100mAh battery. The device will feature either 16 or 32GB onboard storage, expandable via microSD. As expected, the SIII will also connect to 4G LTE and HSPA+ 42 networks, depending on your carrier.

According to the release, the Galaxy SIII will start at $199 (presumably with new activation or eligible upgrade), but definite prices and release dates remain to be seen in future announcements by each carrier. We do know, however, that both "pebble blue" and "marble white" varieties will be available.

Those who want to be the first to get new information regarding the SIII's availability can already sign up at

AT&T's website. Other carriers will undoubtedly up their own signup pages soon.

  4. I must say seeing that it might be "only" a 720p display is disppointing. I got excited from some earlier rumors which had the phone with a 1080p display. That would be amazing. Would think Samsung would want to push hardware boundaries knowing new iphone is only a few months away.

1080P would be big overkill for a phone.

  5. If they will be releasing to Sprint at that time too, then it was extremely covert. So covert that it never went through Sprint's LTE labs, even. Which isn't unprecedented, because Apple devices don't go through Sprint labs for advance testing. However, all previous Samsung devices have, so this would be the first to go through covert stealth mode.

We will have to see. I would love for it to happen. However, I am skeptical that we will see the GS3 on Sprint before Fall.

Samsung could be doing that, since we haven't had any leaks, just a ton of rumors

  6. Yeah - it's here...

Specs look nice but not as good as rumored. If LTE lights up soon for me - I'm in...

Not sure what all the crying is about the look of the phone in all the forums over there. Looks damn good to me.

I agree. the evo 4g lte, is not a one series phone. It may have the same specs(plus more), but it is part of the evo line. It wouldn't be right to have the same look of the one X and call it an EVO
