  1. Let's not forget that Android has taken a lot from the iPhone as well. It goes both ways.

Not really, it's virtually the same Yahoo weather app that's in the App Store, but with some minor differences. Not a surprise considering the iPhone's weather app has always been powered by Yahoo.

everyone copies off of everyone. Apple is the only one thats thinks that they don't copy.

  2. Intel CEO to FCC: Softbank is the best buyer for Sprint

A strange endorsement as Sprint contemplates accepting a higher bid from Dish

In a letter to chairman of the FCC Julius Genachowski, CEO of Intel Paul Otellini has expressed that he believes Softbank is a better choice than Dish to buy Sprint. Following a trip to Asia where he met with Softbank, which an Intel spokesperson refers to as "a business partner", Otellini chose to write to the FCC to encourage the company's bid for Sprint regardless of the fact that Dish is offering a higher amount. Otellini's recommendation is one based on competition, he says:

"Son-san’s vision to build a high speed competitive third national network is very compelling. We need this competition in the wireless space as the ATT/Verizon model is not giving that to consumers at this time."

No further explanation is given as to why Softbank would provide a better competitive chance for Sprint than Dish, but CEO of Softbank Masayoshi Son has proven in the past to be a bit of a mover-and-shaker in the industries his company is a part of. That may not be enough for Sprint to consider its offer, however, as the bid from Dish is still over $5 billion higher. Sprint is expecting to vote on its current deal with Softbank on June 12th.

  4. Has anyone else noticed that the charge complete notification advises us to unplug the phone when the charge is complete?

Is that something that is important to do? Do you all do it?

I prefer to keep my phone at 100% while I have the opportunity to charge it.

Mine says it but i dont unplug it. I plug it in at night so it charges while i am asleep

  5. http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus-resume-shipping-next-week-google-tells-abc-news

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus -- which is still listed on the Google Play Devices site but was relegated to "Coming soon" status this week because of a federal injunction stemming from an Apple patent lawsuit -- should resume shipping next week, Google told ABC News.

The official listing for the "Pure Google" device now says "Soon with Android 4.1, Jelly Bean," and it had been shipping up until late Tuesday, following a federal judge's ruling that a preliminary injunction against the device would not be stayed. While Apple's lawsuit isn't scheduled to go to trial until the spring of 2014, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh ruled that Samsung was unlikely to win, and that the PI was to stand. Google, for its part, had said it had a fix in the works, so we figured any delay in shipping would be brief, and that appears to be the case.

That also means that we likely will see an update push out over the air to existing devices, though what Google intends to change remains unclear. The lawsuit stemmed from the famed infamous '604 patent (aka the "Siri" patent), which protects searching multiple sources from a single interface, and using heuristics for the results. That's what Siri does, and it's also what Google's search bar does. It's not yet known whether the search bar will be removed (a drastic measure, to be sure), or if Google will change the way it searches and parses results.

  6. Ok so i want to get the GS3, the main prob is i am not eligible for an upgrade till otcober.

And since you cant get an early upgrade any more. my only option would be with a new line?

If i do that how soon can i cancel my main line?

  7. I thought crApple already tried to block the SGSIII... and the Judge threw it out. Wouldn't surprise me if the scum bags tried it again, though.

nope judge just said she was too busy

  8. Possible, but I sure hope the courts would have more sense than to continue this idiocy...

Yeah I hope they do have some sense and tell apple to stop. Isnt what they are doing starting a monopoly? Trying to stop something similar to siri. Called competition, which you cant have if all others is banned.

I just hope if they do get the injunction on the gs3, that i have enough money to get me one b4 it happens
