every carrier has issues with manattan. Too many peopleI was outside of MSG this afternoon and the network slowed to a crawl. My guess is there was an event going on but I am not certain. The signal was very strong in the -70's but the speeds weren't the best. Somehow ping stayed low though. Speeds struggled to go above 300kbps on both download and upload but my pings ranged from 30ms to 39ms. I don't understand. The network remained very usable throughout my entire time there. I was able to load Instagram, browse the web, etc. without any problems.
I didn't try YouTube though because I knew it was going to be horrible. That area definitely could use Band 41 and Band 26.

nope continue on, it's good to see updates on sprint towers in Brooklyn. I had a Taste of band 41 Breafly when I tested a g2. Speeds at work (city hall) inside were 60mbs. I'm on iphone 5 so I have full b25 inside. Average is like 3mbs though.I went to Hometown BBQ in Red Hook for dinner tonight and I held Band 41 all the way from my house in Crown Heights to Red Hook. I only lost LTE inside the restaurant. A quick airplane mode toggle put my phone in Band 25 but with a signal of about -120dbm. The problem with Red Hook is that only two towers service this area and neither of them is close to the water. Because of the superior propagation characteristics of EVDO and 1x, the 3G signal is still decently strong but the LTE signal is pretty weak.
Luckily, speeds on Band 25 are still pretty fast despite there being only two towers (anywhere from 10-25Mbps on average). This area could really benefit from Band 26 but it seems the workers simply haven't made it there yet.
P.S. Half of the time, I write these to keep the thread from stalling. Let me know if you want me to stop, lol.

I dont think I will get it if it's not triband. But I'm pretty sure it will be. Apple did add band 26.I really hope the iPhone 6 is a spark phone.
Plan on getting it regardless
Right now I'm very jealous of those speeds

where is this at?This test hit 80Mbps and settled around 78Mbps.

Why are some of you bickering about iOS vs android? This is not the thread for that.

I was on west 32 & broadway to be exact.sorry but not buying that one even a little bit

I'm getting 16-20mbs down at herald square right now. Iphone 5 so b25. I'm surprised it's that fast with so many people.

Well looks like sprint is abandoning the tmobile purchase according to the Wall Street journal.

How do the 8T8R antennas help 2.5ghz get more coverage?
-
well that's good to knowYou made me laugh lol. Any triband phone will work, the new antennas don't require you to get a new phone.
-
Do we need new phones to get 8t8 antennas? Or will the current triband phones work

Was at grand central today. Full lte inside and pretty fast.

how many bars of b41?Currently in Williamsburg at Sea. Band 25 LTE is limited in this area but Band 41 makes up for it by a significant margin. For example, in Sea I always drop down to 1x. More often than not it is 3-4 bars but the signal fades in and out and my device refuses to connect to EVDO in here. I cycled airplane mode and voila, my device is on Band 41. Somehow, Band 41 is managing to keep a signal in an area that is typically 1x only. It's great!

B41 seems to be doing good indoors. I'm guessing the sheer amount of towers is why?

just realized I posted in wrong section. It was meant for NYC not Rochester. It is lte not 3G. It's around 7mbs in the morning then slams down.On lte? That must be a 3g signal. Out here, hilton, i only got 3g even slower than that, despite map saying lte coverage was strong.

Ehh this new b25 tower at city hall is getting ripped to shreds. I'm getting around .45mbs during mid day.
-
thats for sure. Around this time I used to get 3G with ping of 700-900.I would expect that until more sites and B26/B41 from sprint come online, but definitely beats unusable 3G service...
-
yea it's good to see. It is really getting hammered though. Right now I'm not getting more then 1.5mb/s. Ping Is low so it's ok.Thats awesome! lower Manhattan has been the only place where service is almost unusable without a Triband device. Its great to see them finally bringing sprint sites online down there, its been quite a while since the last site came online!

Just got band 25 at my job inside today. It's 4 bars. It's usable 2-3mbs with spikes to 6. Much better then the terrible 3G I used to get.

at my Job in city hall I had full band 41 with speeds around 50-60mbs. This was when I tried out an lg g2. I hope iPhone 6 has B41! I get no band 25 inside.I think I may be on some 8T8R equipment or a new Band 41 site just went live. I'm in front of my school with a -86 dbm signal on Band 41 and speeds of 30 down and near 20 up. What's crazy is that the network penetration and such is equal to Band 25.

How much distance do all the bands cover? I would like to know the difference between 1900.800.2500

Picking up Band 26 in Crown Heights! I toggled airplane mode to see if my phone would switch to Band 41 because I usually get it here, but I was pleasantly surprised when Band 26 popped up instead!
wow looks like the deployment in going fast in brooklyn.
