  1. Wanted to wait until I could contribute something before my first post. At the San Mateo Super Sport near 82/92. Getting my first ever 4G signal on my Evo LTE!
I got these last Saturday on 880 getting into Oakland from Berkeley. The first set we're using the Palo Alto server and the 2nd (faster) set is using the closer Berkeley server.

Did you guys map this on sensorly?

  2. I love the new path on Sensorly that shows someone using Sprint LTE on Sensorly on the 1R/19L runway out at KICT on both an approach and take off. Good stuff!

Just noticed a strange path over at the mcconnell airforce base. Maybe a chopper. Lotta different people using sensorly huh.

  3. I've run sensorly several times here both at work and home and made more than one trip from work to home with sensorly running during the trip, and practically nothing has shown up on the map. I have a strong data connection everywhere i'm at, and I see it supposedly sending messages, but I've got nothing more than a single faint spot to show up at home, and that's it (i probably had the phone sitting there running the app for a half hour or something). I hear people talking about how they drive around and map all the time, but this just doesn't seem to work for me?

    Running a stock GS3 rooted.

Are you mapping 4g or 3g? 3g hardly works for me. 4g on the other hand works all the time for me.

  4. I did the reverse today. Took 101 south to mountain view. Got a tiny little hit. You would think Google would have made sure lte was thick in mtn view.

Then took 280 up. Not much of anything. Didn't get as much on 101 as sensorly shows, but I guess that's how testing goes. Got a couple more dots on 101 that are new too.

  5. Funny I made my little 4g icon purple just to correspond with sensorly.

Finally got 4G at home Woohoo. I had to practically stick the phone out the Window. And it was super slow. But still. My place is now a purple dot. Woohoo.

  6. When the phone is connected to 4G, we only add the 4G data points to the map because the phone doesn't tell us exactly the radio G technology (1x, EVDO 0, EVDO A, EVDO B)

I mean just straight 3g. My area doesn't look covered at all by 3g but it has plenty 3g. I always have sensorly on when I drive home. Never puts my area in green.

But works just fine for my 4g hunting.

  7. I walked along King Street and the Embarcadero again today, and did not pick up any 4g where I had previously. Typical of testing phase, I suppose?

I noticed this also in a couple of places too. Bay bridge and in Daly city. Found new spots in Daly city though. That's a good sign. Went to city college today. Nothing there. I added a plane mode shortcut to my front page just cause I been cycling so much this last week. Also added a 4g icon in my status bar, makes it easier to see while driving. The stock one is way too tiny. If anyone wants to know which apps I used I'll post it later when near a computer.

  8. I did notice that if I start the app but don't press start right away when I eventually do press start it shows all the points since I started the app. Good to know those points are being shared to the server even tho I didn't press start.

Any clue as to why my 3g points hardly update even though 4g in those exact points do update regularly.
