  1. Just mapped 77/85 all the way to 77/Tryon! Typed with Swiftkey flow beta
  2. Any news from uptown? Typed with Swiftkey flow beta
  3. What is your radio version? The one starting with a 3 has worked better for me Typed with Swiftkey flow beta
  4. Getting some serious 4G love at 77/85 couldn't be happier right now :-) Typed with Swiftkey flow beta
  5. Apologies for the previous negativity. Also, has anyone been able to get 4G at 77/85? I want to make sure it isn't my phone. My EVO LTE's radio was updated with Jelly Bean and I am optimistic that it is better. But in my incessant tinkering I may have messed something up. Typed with Swiftkey flow beta
  6. 3 things 1) battery life is misleading after doing a full wipe 2) sprint connections optimizer got in a fight with my Tasker profile. 3) these numbers have changed. If anyone waited on updating I would appreciate confirmation on that. Typed with Swiftkey flow beta
  7. I'm disappointed. It feels like it's been a month since anyone has seen any new activity. And they have turned the lights off on most of what we did have... I don't understand why this isn't happening faster. Typed with Swiftkey flow beta
  8. Just pulled this in Atlanta. I think so ready for thus I'm Charlotte Typed with Swiftkey flow beta
  9. 4G is still gone from the 77/85 intersection :-(
  10. Unfortunately, it seems that spots are turning off rather than staying on. I would really love to see downtown turned on, but with the number of people who would notice it, sprint would have to deal with a lot of confused people.
  11. I discovered a different way to get "LTE only" First, you dial *#*#4636#*#* Then you scroll down a tiny bit and there is a little triangle on the right. If you press that, you get a list of options. If you select the bottom option "LTE, CDMA" you will connect to 4G without any problems. If no 4G is available, then you will revert to a 1X connection. This trick worked great for me when I was mapping 4G in my area. There are some downsides. For example, you can't get 3G. Also, I didn't have any luck staying connected to 4G for long. YMMV To change back you do the same thing and select "CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto"
  12. I hear ya. Well a while back I got 4G in the BOA corporate center. I'm guessing there is something in place and hopefully it will light up soon
  13. I believe this market includes Asheville too
  14. Got nuthin Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  15. I'll be mapping from here to Boone today on my 4G troubled evo Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  16. Following up on my previous post... Before starting my bus ride home, I used the *#*#4636#*#* method to switch my phone to LTE CDMA only. There is good news and bad news. The good news is that it switched from 1X to 4G on its own. The bad news is that it wouldn't hold on to the 4G signal. It kept going back and forth between the two and I would say the longest that it was just on 4G was around 30 seconds. I also called Sprint today to see if I could find anything out about the EVO's problem. I was told that 1) the 4G problem is a known issue 2) they are already rolling out Jelly Bean to select EVO LTE devices. My sense of things is that the sprint person was giving me accurate and up-to-date information. We'll find out in the next day or two.
  17. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2 I've been doing some research and this is a known issue with the evo. I will let everyone know if I find a workaround Update: I found this on xda: You can use the dialer codes to change a mode to force LTE. *#*#4636#*#* or ##3282# (Requires MSL) In there you can change the preferred network type to LTE CDMA only and that will force LTE for you. It will hold the LTE connection for much longer. If you happen to fall out of LTE, you'll be on 1X. Just switch back to the orignal setting and you'll be on 3G. This is a work around for now. HTC/Sprint will need to resolve the issue. The obvious flaw is that you can't get 3g while in LTE CDMA only mode. I tried it at my work uptown and I didn't detect a 4G signal, which confirms what I already knew. I will be trying it on my busride home to see what happens at the 85/77 spot. Now that I know it's a problem with my phone, I want to storm into sprint and throw a tantrum and get them to let me upgrade to the Optimus G. But I will wait until 4G is available at my office and see if HTC can get a fix out there. I'm not holding my breath though.
  18. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2 Have you compared with another sprint lte phone? I will be quite irritated if my 4G phone never switches from 3G on its own...
  19. My wife got an Optimus G yesterday. I'll be curious to see if it does 4G any differently. I might create a Tasker app that messages me when she is in range :-) first I'll have to figure out how to do that though... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  20. Have you had any issues picking up LTE? With my EVO I usually have to toggle airplane. I don't have a good feel for how long it takes for the phone to switch over once you are in range of LTE
  21. My morning bus ride is getting better every day!
  22. The only flaw in this strategy is that you will be stuck with a GS3. What about the Optimus? Does anyone here have one?
