  1. i figured out what the problem is.

both my phones had reverted to 3g only, constantly going from no service to 1x to 3g, but no lte.

my tablet had stayed on lte, so i had originally thought it was an lte/voice related issue.

then i remembered that both my phones have the 'static ip' feature, so i tried removing it from one of the phone and then bam! lte works again.

so something has changed with their static ip system in regards to LTE.

  2. I use iMessage a lot, and am looking forward to the improvements.

I like the delivery/received confirmations, being able to see when the other person is typing, etc. (similar to Blackberry)  I also like that I can within the app send my current location or share it for a specified period of time with another iOS user. Handy when meeting up with friends so you don't have to keep asking where they're at.  Pictures send immediately (and I get confirmation) instead of dealing with the whims of MMS, which sucks on Sprint. iMessage's most important feature for me is being able to create and reply to messages from any of my devices. Send a message from my iPhone or iPad ,and then when I get to my desk get replies on my iMac. I'm looking forward to the weblink previews, larger emoji, etc.

hangouts has been able to do the same things for a couple years at least in conjunction with google voice

that said, imessage integration and simple ease of use bests android/hangouts.

If google could standardize on hangouts/gvoice and make it mandatory/default for all android devices, along with streamlining and making 'just work', they could easily have parity or even something better than imessage/facetime.

  3. as a music lover with a variety of headphone investments, no headphone jack = no sale.

That said, in the unlikely event that apple went to usbc port and got rid of both lightning and headphone jack, that might make for an interesting proposition..

if the lightning only, no headphone is true, you can forget anything about usbc ever hitting an ios device.

what I really want though, would be a MAGSAFE type connector that works for both power and headphones.

if we are forced into some kind of cable change, i want something that break free safely without damaging cables or connectors.

  4. Sounds like the other 2 BBM were wrong and didn't know that they shouldn't have done it (and I would assume now fired or in trouble), and the one who said they couldn't, *was* the one who knew what they were doing, at least according to dafuki's comment..

  5. Kind of a sickening way to end an article;

Son recently bought a $5.5 million house near the Kansas headquarters so he can visit Sprint more easily. The house, which has a pool, is next door to where Claure lives with his wife and five children, without a pool. “I love that Masa comes one day of the month,” Claure says, “but I now have a pool 365 days a year.”

So buy a 5.5 mil house, to live in 1 day a month, while laying off thousands of people.

Yes I realize that Masa earned his money and can spend it any way he likes, but that still doesn't lessen the impact.

  6. I'm using my tablets more than my phones any more, especially now with unlimited on karma hotspot.

Using gvoice + hangouts, I can send/get my text and calls on any device, so it's just a matter of what I'm feeling at any point in time.

    Primary phone: n5 or htc1m8

    secondary phone; iphone 6+

    Primary tablet: ipad mini2

    secondary tablet: nexus 7/2013

I still believe eventually they will have native 'phone' features on tablets and then you can pick your favorite size and be done with it.

  7. Hi, my friend had this problem a long time ago and sprint never resolved it.

He said it stopped when he broke up with his girlfriend at the time.

He believes her sending texts confused sprints system causing the multiple texts from unrelated people.

So, it may not be a problem with any of your phones, it could be a problem from someone who is *sending* to all of you.

  8. There is no way, that I'm aware of, to be sure of anything on this karma go device.

But I can tell you that in all locations I have tested, that my other devices are consistently on b41 at the same time as my karma go testing.

This also fits with kama's FAQ's which state that your 5mbs is shared across your devices (while not interfering with a different accounts 5mbs).

Now the pay as you go plan may very well be different, but the unlimited plan is definitely, in my experience, 5mbs shared across all your devices.

    I tested this like;

start a large app update on android, note that speed varies between 500-600k (~5mbs).

start a large app update on ios, note that speed on both varies between 200-300k each.

every time I've done simultaneous downloads, it works out the same.

If you are experiencing something different, please elaborate on the details involved.

    edit: karma faq @ https://yourkarma.com/help/neverstop/how-does-the-5Mbps-speed-work

  9. I'm still on Refuel myself, so I haven't experienced this yet. When you have multiple devices connected, do each of your devices still get the 5 Mbps? I've been curious about this...

I've tested a few times now, and it appears the 5mbs is shared for all your active devices.

I've done a few app updates simultaneously on separate devices and it consistently seems to split evenly across any active downloads.

On idevices, you can use imonitor to see download speeds, and android I use internet speed meter.

  10. this thing is pretty awesome.

that said, if you have more than 3 devices, be prepared for some extremely annoying behavior having to re-log in any time a 4th device wants to connect.

The device seems to remember only the last 3 devices, and when the 4th connects you must 'pause' one of those 3.

It does *not* seem to drop the device even when it is no longer connected.

and of course you must re-log in every time that device gets 'paused'.

some of you may think that is a small price to pay for unlimited 5 meg service, and it is.

that does not make it any less annoying and unfriendly.
