What does that do....?
posted using my super FK'N htcEVO4gLTE
how do I do that
if you're in LTE coverage, forces the phone to connect to it, seems to be an issue on the Evo LTE and the Galaxy S3
Shawn, go to the Settings menu, should be the first option.

i have 25009 prl on my evo lte and it does not connect
Evo LTE does not connect generally unless you are in a area with great signal and or use LTE Only.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III
and until we get better LTE coverage, keep toggling airplane mode

data service has generally been worthless this week in the Metro area, when I can manage to connect I mostly have 1x service (I've had problems in Bayamon, Guaynabo and Hato Rey)

Where can I see those rollout updates?

Can I update my prl manually on my evo lte like on the gs3 ?
if you mean right on the phone without using a computer, then no
for some reason, HTC took out that functionality from EPST

I'm out to dinner with my wife. The update will start in a few hours. Being in the Atlantic time zone is a killer when waiting on someone in Mountain Time.

ok dude that was nice from you know how to talk to a person
don't worry about it, we're all excited for the good news Robert brings every week, and tempers might flare up sometimes because of that

TIC,TOC,TIC,TOC NO UPDATE FROM ROBERT
be patient, it won't be up 'till tomorrow morning. he's mentioned that updates are getting so large he needs 6-8 hours for each weekly one.

Now if you have the EVO LTE you will need to configure your home screen like below and mash it all the time to get LTE. Other phones that are not qualcomm lte chipsets may not require the modded prl. I remember Robert saying the Nexus didn't require it.

managed to connect for a bit, and there was definitely a fair amount of airplane mode toggling involved... also tried updating OTA to a stock PRL, to see if I could connect to LTE like digiblur asked, but the phone just said "No PRL update available", so my experiments will have to wait for another day

Currently connected to LTE near plaza del sol and getting some great speeds !
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III
that's awesome! I'll be passing by there again in a while, I'll try to get a connection this time...
EDIT: egonadrian, what's your setup? are you using a stock PRL or digiblur's modded one? do you have your phone set to LTE only or normal CDMA/LTE operation?
I'm trying to figure out why my phone seems to not sniff out the LTE signal and connect in known LTE areas right now, thanks!

Canton Mall and Plaza del Sol with LTE
I passed by this area about an hour ago and couldn't find any LTE signal, even had my Evo set to LTE only using digiblur's modded PRL and nada; set it back to CDMA/LTE around Canton Mall and the LTE indicator lit up but had no data transfer, so I couldn't test speeds

Great news, im getting LTE in Bayamon ! Im getting 4G less than 1/4 of a mile away from my house. The signal is weak but atleast I know they are working on it and I can tell it works way better than wimax. The speedtests were not that fast but I did not have the best signal either.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III
all I'm getting in Bayamon today is 1x on my Evo LTE, hopefully a sign of good things to come!
-
I'm guessing is NV related because just minutes later speeds were awful, below 100kbps. .
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
could be... last week I had a 1800 kbps test while going thru there, so it's quite possible NV's getting worked on in the area

Was near hato tejas,Bayamon. I just saw the 4g logo in the top of my screen and decide to make a speed test. That was fast.
nice, good to know they're starting work in Bayamon !!

Apperently Sprint un cover LTE in Caguas in the itersection of the #1 with the # 30 and in Bairoa and some coverage infrotn of the Turabo University.
just: WOW! if we can get even half those speeds in real-world usage once the network's officially launched, it's gonna be awesome and I'm gonna be real happy!

no problem! it's certainly not as easy as it was before, but not really as complicated as it looks either... good luck!

A newbie Q' how the heck do i change PRL on my EVOLTE?
posted using my super FK'N htcEVO4gLTE
seems like the only way to do it is using a PC, THIS is the guide I followed. not as easy as it was on previous HTC phones where it could be changed right on the device
-
well, I mapped the trip home after class, from Hato Rey to Bayamon, and as expected, saw no LTE sites (using digiblur's modified PRL)... hopefully soon!!

we don't really know the reasons they are working on sites in that order, but what I'm thinking is that they're finishing up the sites outside the Metro area, so that they'll be able to tackle the ones in the Metro area in one fell swoop, maybe in November or early December.
also, maybe work on the LTE core hasn't been completed, they could be waiting for that, and when they finish up the Metro area, light up LTE on the whole island (probably too optimistic thinking on my part)

I've seen that also, there seems to be a tiny LTE coverage spot riiiiight on the bridge
