Well on the Sprint conference call this morning they confirmed 2.5 will be in all current Sprint sites plus Clearwire and they'll be building out more than 2.5GHz coverage than there current 38K sites

Holy smokes!!! That's awesome news. I had a feeling they were going to use that spectrum on all cell sites.

I think they are optimizing lte in my area. I notice I'm starting to get faster speeds again after LTE has been out in my area for almost a year

Average I get 8-12 down and 2-3 up

<p>
Sprint officially launches 41 new markets, 59 new cities today!
Here's the full list.
- <snip>
Nice but like all the previous markets, these markets are not fully optimized and 100%. Once LTE is on 800/2500 then that would be awesome
-
And I know sprint is working to get customers off WiMAX to LTE. Sprint should just make those customers eligible for an upgrade and go ahead announce a WiMAX shut off date. I know they said 2015 but I wonder if they can bump it up sooner
-
Random but I was checking the sprint WiMAX footprint on sensorly and I was kind of shocked to see WiMAX in a lot of markets in the US. Hopefully softbank plans to replace the whole WiMAX footprint with TD LTE. I know some markets don't need it as much but it would be awesome if they do.
-
is there anyway for sensorly to separate mapping for 800mhz to show where that is popping up, that would be great to see on the map how the coverage is different from the pcs band
That and the 2.5 ghz band.

my assumption is New Sprint wants July 30th to happen like yesterday - so they can announce a typical poor quarter. Then Mr. Son can start to get New Sprint into the press with announcements. This is also why I bet they are waiting to go live with the 2 boroughs in NYC on the 30th to help show the future rather than the past.
I don't know SoftBank nor Mr. Son - BUT from what i have seen in video and and written word he is not a person that likes to come in last nor enjoys his company taking it by TMO or any other carrier.
who knows maybe I'm all wrong... hope I'm not :-)
thoughts?
Idk we'll wait and see. I can start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but we still have miles away lol.

I totally disagree. When you have a capital improvement plan you go forward with it no matter what. Why? Because the money is already spent. What we are seeing now is a glut of sights that were completed but waiting for approval. The timing is just coincidental. Clear may have been a different situation. I suspect the towers were approved and ready to go and they waited until after the merger to flip the switch. In either case work did not stop.
Yeah you're right

Like the person said above we didn't know what was going to happen with sprint. We didn't know if Dish was going to buy them and have the network be Dish's problem or if Sprint will remain the same but with Clearwire and Softbank. I'm sure sprint corporate decided to pause network vision in major markets until the bidding war was completed. I honestly don't blame them, why continue building out the network if dish was going to take over and redo everything
Now that chapter is done, and we are under Softbank's control I'm sure sprint is really trying their best to hurry things up. Some things will take time but I know some things will be forced to speed up. None of us expected to have clearwire TD LTE turned on last week so that's a sign they are trying.
I just hope we can get some sort of timeline to know what's going on but I'm sure we won't get one so I'm hoping softbank/sprint does a big press event that announces The New Sprint with their exact vision and goals.
I want the other 3 to be scurred!!! Lol beware of global domination

Can we get a new thread for all this MiFi device offer chatter? It's rather distracting for thread followers who care not about the specific offer and about the frequency deployment in general.

I would bet on history repeating itself and the iPhone being behind the curve as they have done this since the very first edge only iphone.
Lol true

Chipset support is only one minor piece of the battle. Still need antennas, filters, and amplifiers to go with it.
True. I'm just going to say the next year iPhone will support Triband. By then LTE should be (hopefully) deployed nationwide and most of the major markets are above 60% competition
-
You forgot to mention it is also a world phone. International lte roaming anyone?
I did my job and posted the link. Y'all could read the rest lol

Nice find!

Thanks. I'm going to assume the next Triband phone will be the note 3. I doubt this years iPhone model "5s" will be Triband however rumor specs says the newer iPhone will have an upgraded LTE radio chip. Not sure what that means but I hope it means it will will support all of sprints LTE bands.

Looks like the new LG G2 will be Triband for sprint. It was just cleared through the FCC today

Triband is coming y'all!!

I don't care if its blazing fast. Just good enough so I can upload a photo onto Instagram, stream pandora, and load a web page at a decent rate

Verizon is way too expensive now. I would rather go with att if i had to choose the one of the 2 evils.

I would check tmobile's coverage in your area first before I go to the big 2. But I'm in the same boat but my contract doesn't end until October of next year. Hopefully by then the DC metro area and Frederick MD area has sufficient LTE coverage.
-
I know NV is delayed but didn't sprint say LTE advance will be out in 2013?
-
I'd rather have better coverage with lte 800
I'm excited for that as well! I

Man I'm ready for my Triband LTE phone next year!! And I'm ready to experience those 2.5ghz speeds

I wonder if clearwire had LTE sites in the DC area? I want to buy the the new hotspots and test them out
-
Band 41 = 2.5ghz - 2.6ghz
Oh I didn't even see that...my bad haha *embarressed*

How do you know you were connected to 2600 band?
-
Does the Samsung galaxy phones prl prioritize 800 first before 1900? I upgraded from the galaxy s3 to the htc one and now I can't connect to 800 to save my life. I live in a Shentel market

Sprint's 2.5 TD LTE will be the key differentiator between sprint and it's rival. Huge news can't wait until its deployed in my area
