I have a friend who also has one with an EVO 4GLTE and he doesn't have the issue. I need to go over to his house to see if I get the beeps with his airvana. If I do then I know it is phone related. if I don't then I know it is Airvana issues.

NV not started yet in Tampa Bay, why all the handshake problems
thtguyuknw replied to thtguyuknw's topic in Markets
Not trying to sound like a complainer, but it almost seems like they are not even doing bandaid fixes here. Something has to be happening soon, service has gotten completely rediculous. I am dropping calls constantly and lately data throughput has been lower than dial up. I am lucky to get better than 33K with almost 2 second ping latency (2200ms). I was at IP today and even though I had full signal and my 3G was showing transfer, I couldn't open any web, or web enabled apps. I would say it has gotten progressively worse around here in the last 3 months. -
Hopefully we get some LTE love soon here in TB I work in Sable Park over by the Fairgrounds, and I think every company over here must use Sprint Blackberry's. We have about 40 Sprint based phones in our office. When i get to my office at 7am I am getting around 500K down, but by lunch time it is usually in the 20-30K range with more than 2K ms ping time. Completely unbearable.

So one week later and the issue has returned! Will be calling Sprint again.
-
the Shift Manager for Network operations, called me back yesterday to verify that all was still working. And it is so I would call if fixed. I recommend calling and talking to Airrave support.
-
Ok so I called Sprint back and finally got to a high level network tech. after alot of troubleshooting including on my Network side (QOS, Jitter... blah, blah, blah) They decided the fix is to rebuild the line itself. Had to leave my EVOLTE off for about an hour. then they called me back and walked me through reseting the call side system settings. ##72735#. Then a pin code. then did a reset there and after rebooting my phone went back into hands free activation and when it was all done, everything worked and I was no longer getting the key press. YAY sprint figured it out. Kevster if you still have the problem, they said they were going to put it in their knowledgebase. So you should be able to call and get it fixed.

Sprint LTE August 2012 Schedule Maps

I would think that limiting your Data is socialism. "The Man" telling you how much you need. -
really? was it originally active on your account? I only have to pay taxes/fees on what should be the monthly fees. but if I disconnect for an extended period of time I either have to send it back to them or they will start billing me for it.

Just wanted to give an update on the button press issue. I still have it, called sprint and they ran a test on my phone and the airave, and everything checked out. Still get the button press issue. I have just made sure I have my BT headset or wired headset with the phone anytime I am in the house, that seems to solve the issue. it seems to be an issue with the proximity sensor for the face.

So next will be the TPA updates right -
Engadget says Gamestop will have them.

On my EVO 4G I used it 5 times 3 times it waved the $35 repair charge to replace the display because of the LED bleed problem. 1 time I got an instant replacement because the micro USB port stopped working and 1 time got instant replacement because the tech broke the volume up popple off while replacing the screen.(Normally would have to wait for them to order a replacement) For my EVO 4G LTE I switched to $9.99 BlackTie from BB because of the rumor'd TEP going to $11. Nice thing with BB plan is no deductible. Even asked about rooting, and the Sales guy said, if we can't turn it on we don't know if it is rooted or not I also went ahead and bought the $29.99 Buy Back plan, which guarantees me they will give me $150 for the phone when I upgrade 2 years from now. But I also was able to Get my EVOLTE for $50 because of all the discounts.

Sprint announces LTE launched

hey my B'day is July 15th. I couldn't figure out why they were turning LTE up on my birthday but not in my home market -
Don't still have the OG EVO. But no issues on my BB or wife's Nexus S. I set my phone to CDMA only as soon as I got it so that isn't it. I am going to call Airave support when I get home tonight.
-
Using 3G My former EVO 4G never had this issue, my Blackberrry doesn't have this issue and my wife's Nexus S doesn't have this issue.
-
I have this problem too but I don't even have to remove from my face of have the screen wake up. They said it sounds lIke I am ramdomly pressing the keypad. I even had a automated phone system automatically take me to a option I didn't chose because of it.

I have a problem with my EVO LTE and my Airave. When I am connected to airave the person on the side says it sounds like I am randomly pressing the keypad. I have rebooted the Airave and still no difference.

NV not started yet in Tampa Bay, why all the handshake problems
thtguyuknw replied to thtguyuknw's topic in Markets
capacity has been my biggest issue at work, but has been since I started here. we are in a office park near the fairgrounds, and I think everyone in this area must use Sprint Blackberries. I know 99% of our business supplied BB's are Sprint. I can do a Speed test in the morning before the place fills up and I am getting 1.2Mbps but by late morning or lunch. I am lucky if I am getting 100Kbps. -

I was just going on your last Map which only showed a single site in Palm Beach as being started in FL. So then is the hand off issue a possible sign that these area's are getting the NV treatment -

So recently, in the last 4-5 weeks I have been getting a lot of call drops first with my EVO 4G and now with my EVOLTE. I know they haven't started any upgrades here yet, Anyone know why more towers in the area aren't handing off to the next tower. I have about 5 areas where Handshaking has become a problem. To the point where I can tell exactly where I am going to loose a call. and as soon as the call drops the next tower picks up because signal goes from no bars to full strength. Has anyone noticed this in any other markets? -
I set up my wallet and got my free $10, didn't add any other money (Luckily). Updated Apps that required updates last night. Went to 7-11 this morning and went to use the Wallet for the first time and now I am getting Unsupported device. Did a search and it seems a lot of people have had this problem. Anyone else?

Sprint Affiliate commits to Network Vision and LTE
thtguyuknw commented on S4GRU's blog entry in The Wall
Ntelos is less and affiliate and more of a wholesale network provider. But the funny thing about that is all the hardware is Sprint's Hardware. I remember going into one of Ntelos' Datacenters in Waynesboro, VA about 8 years ago, I was a contractor working in their internal IT dept. and all the Wireless support hardware had tags that said Property of Sprint -
Sprint Affiliate commits to Network Vision and LTE
thtguyuknw commented on S4GRU's blog entry in The Wall
Being that I formerly lived in a Shentel area, I can attest to them being very fast to upgrade. They had EVDO in their rural area's before Sprint had EVDO in Richmond, VA. I wonder about NTELOS. which also is a large affiliate in rural VA, WV and NC. They have always been on the forefront of Sprint technology as well. selling their own branded CDMA phones but providing network for Sprint as well. I live in the Tampa Metro area now and EVDO is slower here than it was up there. and Wi-Max is nothing to write home about either. can't wait for NV/LTE in Tampa Bay
