    I’m happy Masa bought Sprint.

I’m not happy that he refused to invest capital in it to the degree that it negatively impacted the value of his actual investment... and mine as a shareholder.

As a result: Sprint is becoming part of T-Mobile: “New T-Mobile”. T-Mobile is not becoming part of Sprint.

If this merger doesn’t go through, Masa will have to open the spigot on funding Sprint unless he can find another suitable merger partner... which could offer a worse merger deal than T-Mobile.

Or he could let things go the way they are and everything that Sprint said to the FCC as far as its smaller coverage area, limited 5G deployment and shrinking competitive scale (vs the competition) will come to be.

Red,. I applaud your passion.  And no I'm not being condescending.  But I disagree with what your saying.  Yess, we didn't see the $5-6B that tmobile spends. Or the $10+B that the other two guys spend.  The balance sheet couldn't support it.  They had to be creative, Hence Mobilitie.  I would have love to see money thrown Willy nilly to build more tower. But, at that point it couldn't be done.

Now the point about Masa,. Think about it this way.  It's like you got this big ass mansion with many guest houses.  And fires all over the place.  And a guest house catches ?.  But your limited on how much water you can use.   If you use too much, you won't have enough to protect the mansion. And then everything you worked for is down the drain.  Or literally up in smoke.

Masa has $100B+ in debt.  Guy is not dumb.  But he has to be selective on how to use the *water*.

I think he's an incredible risk taker. Some pan out, some don't.  But, I won't critize the guy, cause again if Masa didn't buy Sprint. Other carriers would be picking @ Sprint like vultures on the roads.

Yeah. I think T-Mobile will give some recognition to Sprint's network initially as was discussed in the Town Hall meeting, but that recognition will dissipate over time. As the majority owner, T-Mobile will ultimately be the one calling the shots. Sprint's people will be involved to the degree that they have a greater understanding of Sprint's network than the T-Mobile people. Once the networks are integrated however, I'm thinking that Sprint's people will have to prove their greater value to the merged company in order to stay there.

Masa never gave Sprint the capital it needed to effectively compete with the other carriers... to the point where Sprint didn't even participate in the 600 MHz auction because it didn't have the money, but tried to write it off as "Spectrum of the Past"... Funny how it's now "Spectrum of the Future" when combined with 2.5 GHz when we're talking about a Merger.

Instead, Masa threw countless billions at ARM, Boston Robotics and Uber.... Oh well. One of my favorite quotes: "If we don't change direction soon, we'll wind up where we're going."

    And here we are....

Honestly, be happy Masa bought Sprint and kept it alive.  He gave the company hope.  The company is now more nimble and somewhat has a direction. If it wasn't for him it'd probably be parts for the other carriers.

If you have the model with the eink screen, then it is off. The screen uses no power to stay "on". It retains the last image that was on it, and you need power to change it or clear it. I'm guessing you unplugged it while it was on startup, so the screen never got erased.

You could try going to a Retail store and ask one of the reps to pull up the “Glance” tool and see if there are any tower issues near your home.

Im talking to the big wigs @ from Marci's Office. Doesnt help that my MagicBox is stuck on device startup for the last three days.  And its been unplugged.  Anyone know how to take it apart so i can take the battery out of it to restart it?

They're doing a ton of behind the scene software updates which has done a number to many markets.

Ie. 4x4 deployment on the network broke B41 for my stock pixel 1g. They've disabled 4x4 after weeks of my complaining and it's working again now.

Other users have had hand off or hard drop issues and the like which corresponds to known software updates to the eNBs.

I've lost any sense of band 25 @ my home in Illinois.  Magic box is down and now I'm on shit home wifi. And Sprint excutive relations has the audacity to say nothing wrong with the towers around me.

  6. This is pic on the other side when i was drving back from downtown.  Guys where up there working. I think on one of the pics you can spot them.  I do have to say, I'm quite impress with myself. Not easy to take pics while driving 55+mph. ?

By the time Sprint bought Nextel they seemed pretty ghetto to me and stagnating.  Sprint was sold a bill of goods in my opinion.

T- Mobile is in third place. They were a distant fourth at one point though. The last thing they’ll do is resurrect Nextel.

The strongest Asset that sprint has in the business sector is the Nextel name.  Sadly they Don't have the competence to exploit it.  Sprint Mgmt and Maybe location of its headquarters has something to do with it.

Nextel was built into the phone. No opening Apps, just find the contact and hit the button.  I loved seeing every install company no matter competitor carried Nextel. Unfortunately, Sprints Indoor coverage is poor. Any Lte Solution wouldn't be robust.

Lend people a hand, and they take the entire arm. I never got an Airave because of that. I know my neighbors don't have home internet and they use their Sprint phones as their internet. The moment I hookup an Airave is the moment those cheap bastards will run through my ISPs data allowance. Let them suffer through congested B26 as they attempt to stream Netflix.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Good thing magic box relays the signal from the tower.

  9. You use a MB to help your signal and people around you signal.  Disconnecting the MB because you have fiber. Doesn't help anyone. I have both a Airave and MB and I have fiber.  Damn straight I wanna help as much people around me that have Sprint.

It's a me-me country, no one looks after anyone else anymore.  :(

I’d guess it’s more closely related to employee selection and qualification, incentives and company culture.

Sprint is definitely turning that around but they still have a decent way to go.

Exactly how my mind was thinking.  I love Overland Park. Every time I go there I look up and feel as if its the Truman Show.  It would be a great study how environment plays into the running of a company.  If for instance if the company would have been headquartered in Reston, Va.   Would the team been more opportunistic? I was in Overland Park two weeks ago.  And just a feeling came over me  like the Mark twain saying  "When the world Ends, I wanna be in Kentucky, because everything there happens 20 years after it happens anywhere else."

But I'm assuming somewhere in the Cleveland area of ohio?!

Actually, no it was NW of Ohio.  I was going to Grover hill from Fort Wayne.  It was off the highway close to Grover Hill.   Just noticed this was posted in the wrong forums.  If there's a better thread for the picture please move.
