  1. Theres a reason why Sprint bought US Cell 20Mhz of PCS spectrum.  In short order they will be a substantial boost.

Glad it's not only me. For a market that is almost finished, it's pretty horrid. I'm hoping it's related to some kind of market-wide work being done. Otherwise, we're in trouble. Maybe 800 LTE work?

  2. Should have been more specific. On I90 the tower on Anthony rd in Garden Prairie is 4g. And that covers 90 for a good stretch. Belvidere coverage sucks for 4g. A few days ago saw them running lines. First thought was fiber not sure though. If it was the tower by route 20 in bv should provide a major boost around town.

I was actually visiting friends in belvedere. We drove all around that town. 3G everywhere except the center of town, that had a little LTE showing up. And very slow 3G. Pages wouldn't load, speed tests timed out. I know Rockford is pretty well covered. Belvedere, not so much.

  3. 4G Shuts off after you pass Randall exit . It should kick on over in Belvidere and Rockford should be pretty well covered.  My Sprint phone is the Optimus G. Being on 1x800 I dont remember the last time I dropped a call. Maybe a few months back in LITH Costco.

  4. It got taken out with the update too. At this time I haven't come across at a way as of yet. I'll post it if I do.

I just read the post; I got to the menu, but I see no option for "System Selection."

Where is it at? All of the carriers seem to have towers around NIU, so I'm not sure who would be on a DAS.

  6. Yeah, it was installed in 2011. Last I heard only Vzw was tied into it.  But this was a few years back.

On a side note I gotta tip my hat to ATT. They've been hauling ass building DAS sites all across the country. Its Great they make them for all carriers to tap into.

    NIU has one?

  7. All major venues have DAS in them. Only now Sprint has taken the initiative to Tie into the systems. Its better days ahead for the network. Sadly we got a few more quarters before the public takes notice.

check the update, u may like what u see with the update to solider field.

  8. Not enough subcontractors was a big problem. People say it's back haul I dispute that. 4 major companies doing upgrades and when your the last one you don't have much picking to choose from as far as reputable companies to work with. I know plenty of towers with fiber installed and no NV. IMO Phx is really an easy market to upgrade. ITS really ramping up from what I'm hearing.

Also something that a little old and haven't shared.

In May I spoke to one of the owners(my neighbor) of a subcontracting firm that's doing NV. Hes doing towers all over Az and ABQ At that time he said it'd take 11 months to do the market. By all indications it looks like that will be right. Unless of course they start mixing in TDLTE.

  9. Forget it, I figured it out.  3845#*970#   is the code to get into the secret menu. Find IOT Hidden menu -> System Selection->Network mode -> LTE Only

Anyone know how to put the phone just in LTE mode.
