  1. Lte issues here in Lincoln, ne (strong signal but won't connect for then a second) Sent from my HTC ONE from Tapatalk 2

Me too here in Harrisburg PA.  No 1900 receprion.  LTE Discovery app shows I am connected to eHRPD.

  2. T

We know the G2 and N5 are having lte problems on Band 25. But is the S4T and HTC One having the problems also? That would help out if its a LG issue or not.

That's a really good point. I'm not receiving 1900 at all.

  3. Just got off the phone with Sprint customer support, and as I expected they know nothing about the G2 not connecting to LTE and suggested I return the device for a different phone.  They also know nothing about any update coming out to correct the LTE issue.  You gotta laugh!  It's launch day and I can't connect to LTE.  I thought sure the update would be here in time.

  4. So how many out there are connecting to LTE without any issues? Any updates listed when you activate your phones today?

I did all the available updates.  My G2 will fleetingly get 4G LTE when I switch network modes then back to 3G where it stays.  Really annoying that they don't have this issue fixed on launch day!  I'm right up the street from the LTE tower from Shentel.  When I had the two lemon Samsung Galaxy Note 3's I got great LTE.

  5. I don't believe this has been mentioned in this forum, but do shipments from Sprint require a signature like they do with Best Buy?

Yes, the Sprint shipments do require a signature.

  6. After 40 minutes with this Best Buy CSR on the phone, he insisted that Best Buy does not offer any sort of expedited shipping, even at an additional cost. He said I might lose my gift card amount since I cannot provide proof I had a card since my wife shredded it. After talking to a supervisor, they pulled up the number. I cancelled my order and called the store I called earlier to confirm that I have two phones sitting aside for me. I have to wait up to two weeks for a new gift card to be sent to me, so I guess I am stuck with $80+$100 gift card from the preorder offer. The store I called also confirmed that they will honor the gift cards for the website. Lesson learned: Don't preorder online from Bestbuy.com.

This is why I hate to deal with Bust Buy. Thie following example is just one of many of my bad experiences with Bust Buy. A couple of years ago, I ordered a laptop in early November from BB that I was going to give as a Christmas gift. Two weeks later I get an email from BB that they could not fulfill this order in time for Christmas. If it was a gift to call customer service and cancel - which I did. I ordered a similar laptop elsewhere. Low and behold 4 days later the BB laptop shows up at my house after I was emailed by BB saying they couldn't fulfill the order in time for Christmas. I called customer service who told me to just return it to any store to get my refund. I went to the Harrisburg store and they refunded all except my shipping costs. The store manager told me there was no way to refund shipping charges from an online order. Furious I stomp home and call BB customer service. I fought at every level and they refused to refund shipping. I explained that I received an email from BB stating they couldn't fulfill the order in time for Christmas and I was to call and cancel the order which showed up anyway. They couldn't have cared less. I was out the $30 shipping charge because of their error. Since then, as this was one of many bad experiences, I refuse to ever patronize BUST BUY again.

Sorry for the rant, but I know what you are going through. We are all looking forward to these new LG G2 tri band devices, and can't wait to get our hands on one - then you have to deal with all this extra hassle.

Lucky for me, mine will be here tomorrow from Sprint. The very best of luck to you, getting your two for you and your wife.

  7. Oh, happy day!!!! Its here!! It actually got here around 9:30 this morning only 14 hours after I got my shipping confirmation email. I finally got to lay my eyes on it but don't have time to activate it for a couple of hours yet. :(

We'll all stay tuned for some results!

  8. After three calls to Best Buy, I cannot cancel my order. Looks like I won't get my preorders until next week despite having two on hold tomorrow. Best Buy definitely gets an F in the customer service department.

Sorry to hear that!  That reallly sucks.

  9. Hmm....I never got an email from Sprint saying that my phone has shipped, but the Track your order shows a Tracking number...interesting....

Good luck to all you best buy orders out there!

...as long as you have a tracking number, you're good to go.

  10. Just called best buy in BR and the guy said he had them in but they have not been scanned into inventory and don't know when they will do it.. I asked him to put two to the side and he said he couldn't do that..this is very annoying.. Bad first experience pre-ordering and will probably not do it again..

Because of many personal experiences in the past with BB similar to yours, is the reason I now call them "BUST BUY".

  11. Things should get really interesting here by tomorrow night as we all start trying our brand new shiny G2's!

It'll be cool to see how well it goes for all of us!

    Hopefully no major glitches!

  12. So everyone that got their pre-orders shipped out of Louisville from Sprint, make sure your phone works OK after you get it....After all...There's a good possibility it was involved in that hijacking/crash. :-P

They say it was all found intact...but....you never know... ;-P

    You're making me paranoid!

  13. Don't know if it was already mentioned, but from the looks of the unboxing video, there is no brightness bar on the notification shade.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. I liked that feature in my fleeting ownership of 3 Samsung Galaxy Note 3's. Does anyone know if the brightness slider can be added to the notification bar by the user?

  14. I am assuming that everyone who got an email today ordered from Sprint and not from Best Buy, is that true?

Yes Dave, mine is from Sprint, shipping out of Louisville KY.

  15. !

I am thinking the same thing...might have to make a trip up to Jax on Friday morning. It is kind of insane to open up a preorder for customers if they send the product out later than the release date in the store.

    100% agree

    Good luck guys!

  16. I ordered mine from sprint and I just got a shipping confirmation email a couple of minutes ago!! :D

You're making me jealous! I ordered mine from Sprint as well and nothing so far!

  17. I agree with this statement.  It definitely makes sense that the policy is within 14 days of activation because it doesn't make any sense that the clock starts as soon as you preorder it especially when Sprint knew internally that the LG G2 wasn't going to be released until a month later.  I wouldn't worry about it and I certainly wouldn't cancel your preorder in fear of this.

Remember that the information was gathered from a regular joe schmo Sprint rep so that has to tell you something about their credibility.  We know at S4GRU that Sprint phone and chat CSRs are not the most reliable sources of information.

Hey, thanks!  I'm not going to cancel my pre-order.  I'll wait it out.  Sprint has got the best signal in my area and a tri band phone is exactly what I need for the in-building penetration.

I joind this forum because of people like you; who are well educated and know what is really going on.  I can't even begin to thank all of you enough for all the information I have learned.  I really find it fascinating to read articles by A J and Robert ,that go into such technical knowledge annd detail.

  18. I don't think the rep was correct.  The 14 days doesn't start until you activate the device.  Per http://www.sprint.com/landings/returns/.

"We love our products and services, and we think you will, too. With the Sprint Satisfaction Guarantee, you can try your new product for 14 days. If you aren't 100% satisfied with your product, return your device to your original place of purchase, and contact us within 14 days of activation (day 1 of the 14 days starts when the product is activated)......"

OK, That's encouraging  Hopefully, that rep didn't know what he was talking about!

I'm really not getting a good feeling about Friday delivery though...

    Good luck to us all!

  19. That is a crock of you know what....how can you return something you never even had?!?! The preorder period I've waited has been longer than the 14 day trial period....I certainly hope this isn't true....

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I questioned the Sprint sales rep and repeated what he said to me. He replied: " that is correct your 14 day return period starts from the date the phone is ordered - not the date you receive it".

I was kind of in limbo, or I would have ordered from Bust Buy. I had such a disaster with the 2 previous Samsung Galaxy Note 3's that I first tried on Sprint, so I cancelled my new contract at 12 days. I re-joined now that tri band is available. Technically I was still a Sprint customer until 45 days passed. At least I got the pre- order price from Sprint.

  20. Might be time for you to take some Midol...

    AJ

I think I need Midol as well.  I ordered mine from Sprint.  The customer service rep told me that my 14 day return period starts from the day I place the order - not the day I receive the phone.

This is not adequate time for testing!
