  1. Found some AT&T LTE roaming south of Syracuse in the Onondaga Nation. It's good to have some LTE coverage available down there, even if it is roaming.

On a side note, band 41 in Syracuse is a lot more usable now that I upgraded to a LG G6. This phone holds onto band 41 down to -130 and it's still usable.098f4ce01f20bf7f5de1e26b2e2ae48a.jpgff664e4608d4fe2b3dc87b66547a5e61.jpg

  2. Apparently it's stock LTE band priorities are messed up for Sprint. From what I've seen it favors B26 first, then B25, and then B41. It should be the other way around.

I was under the assumption device band priority was only for initial scan and that the network would then move the device to different bands. Is that no longer the case?

  3.

And with HPUE, in my room I see B41 signals around -96 when I wouldn't get anything under -104 on the HTC 10.

HPUE wouldn't effect the downlink signal level you are seeing as it only effects transmitted power from the phone.

  4. The benefit would be for using in connection between the phone and tv. I've completely ruled out on getting the Z9D though, since finding out last night at a late moment, that the tvs 3d features do not include a 2d to 3d conversion upscaler, unlike the LG OLED tvs from past year.

So, if the HTC U11 does arrive to me, I most likely will keep it and use it until the LG V30 gets released.

Maybe Sony is weird but I've never had problems using features like Miracast across different brands. What are you trying to do with keeping the same brand tv and phone? I haven't seen this phone in person but my HTC Bolt had several options built in to connect to other devices like TV's as did every other HTC I've had.

  5. Tested again, hd calling is not working and won't work on iPhone until u call and have that specific soc code removed from ur line...

Called sprint iPhone to android and no hd voice.

This has been my families experience as well. iPhone to iPhone, iPhone to Android, Android to Android it doesn't seem to matter. It's like the wifi calling option on the line disables HD calling among other features. To be clear wifi calls still sound good, but Sprint HD calling on cellular seems to get disabled once wifi calling is enabled on that line.

  6. I don't have experience running the software you mentioned, but in my own experience running some older games on new hardware they still may run poorly no matter how much computing power you throw at them. I regularly play Diablo 3 and Rift and run those just fine on high or ultra settings yet when I load up EverQuest I get video lag which is an 18 year old game.

  7. Who/what were you calling?

Also, I don't know why they say HD voice is disabled with Wi-Fi calling, because it sounds glorious when talking to another Sprint user that is on Wi-Fi calling.

Maybe they mean it doesn't work, because they assume you'll be calling Cellular sprint users? (In which case they're right, it won't be HD from wifi to cellular)

Both my dad and my sister have wifi calling enabled on their line (LG G6 and iPhone 7) and they no longer get Sprint HD calling at all while on cellular. Wifi calls sound good, but enabling wifi calling on your line even if you don't use it kills a lot of features for some reason.

  8. Maybe this is for another thread, but you don't need to spend $5000 on a PC to game in 4k. My three year old machine I put together for around $1500 runs that stuff just fine.

  9. Why not move over to an Android or iPhone? Windows mobile seems nice, but there are just better options with Google and Apple regarding the whole device and app ecosystem. Until Microsoft does something to gain some more marketshare you're kind of setting yourself up for disappointment not being able to use new services as they come out.

  10.

I think its one of those features either people will view as not being needed or others that really love it and use it regularly.

How would you plan to use the feature? With my Google voice integration, I primarily use it to text from my tablet and desktop using the Hangouts extension in chrome. With Google continually fragmenting their own messaging services with new apps I don't have any expectations the service will last past next year especially with Hangouts losing sms support completely.

It's my hope Google (and Microsoft for that matter) come up with a unified messaging platform that can work across devices using your account rather than specific carrier device similar to what Apple did with iMessage. That way we wouldn't have to rely on a carrier implementation feature like digits, or Google voice integration and it's adoption could be more widespread.

  11. I haven't seen many particulars about digits but it seems very similar to google voice with Sprint full integration using Hangouts. If that's the case I probably wouldn't want to use it via web interface because it's just not the same experience.

  12. Read up on SRLTE.

I thought it had the device check for calls periodically similar to how one of the older iPhones did by dropping to check the paging channel for calls. I lose data completely when on the phone just like I always have.

  13. I have a question. Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, or perhaps should go in the MagicBox thread or elsewhere, but its not specific to that.

I was reading the TmoNews website, when I noticed a banner advertisement for an "LTE router" device that looks alot different than the Magic Box and other similar devices I've seen. This looks more like a WiFi router. What exactly would this do, such as would it increase LTE signal, etc.?

    https://accelerated.com/products/6350_sr_lte_router/?gclid=CKHAsI-eidQCFZeEaQod-OIPSw

It's a dual wan router with a built in cellular modem. Sprint had its own version but I can't remember the name. Essentially you can set it up a few ways with primary connection from Ethernet from your wired ISP and use cellular for back up in case of ISP outage or even for load balancing.

  14. That is good to know.

I was hoping there were sites on premises after hearing about it for so long by so many people, especially those using it as a reason to claim why the signal in the store was so strong.

I think that Sprint store where the picture is from really ought to put the Magic Box in a display case and have it activated on inside of it. There is plenty of retail theft and so far these Magic Boxes seem quite popular. I know if I had Sprint I'd want one.

Why steal something they are giving out for free?

  15. Just got this phone yesterday after having to replace my bolt due to screen issues. HPUE seems to do its thing, it will camp on -125 b41 which was still letting me get 10/1Mbps whereas the Bolt would drop to b25 or evdo. So far my only annoyance was having to figure out how to turn on the app drawer on the home screen. Overall it feels pretty nice and is very responsive. The rear fingerprint reader was hard to get used to but I found a thin case which makes it much easier to locate.

Are there any wireless charger that will work with a case on? My Nexus charger won't, the pho e detects something and throws up a screensaver but won't charge on it unless I pull it out of the case.

  16. I had to replace my htc bolt today due to a problem with the screen. I got the LG G6 and noticed this phone holds onto b41 to much lower levels before I get kicked to b25 or 3g. Normally in this area I would be camping on evdo but I'm sitting on b41 at -125 and still manage ~10/1 Mbps.

  17. Not likely, it self configures and picks a frequency in the license range (hence the need for GPS). This would only be an issue in areas where Sprint has less than 60-80Mhz of B41 spectrum (assuming they gave 2-3 carriers on the air).

There are some areas, such as SF, where Sprint has enough spectrum, but not more than about 70 MHz contiguous. So they only have only 2 B41 carriers on air. This still leaves another big chunk of spectrum free that isn't currently being used since it can't be aggregated with the first 2 carriers, but would work perfectly fine for a magic box.

That being said, there are a few areas where Sprint is legit spectrum constrained for B41, but they're pretty rare I think.

Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

That's what I mean though. If they are constrained on b41 spectrum in that area and already have (or plan to have) 2-3 carriers on air. It's my understanding the box broadcasts something different than what the macros do so if they didn't have another chunk of unused b41 it wouldn't work.
