  1. So I got a call from Sprint inquiring if the problem with incoming calls was fixed. I was still in Brazil and told the agent that yes, incoming calls on that trip were coming in fine. He told me there was a missing software patch with Telefonica that had caused the problem. So i guess I helped identify a pretty major problem with calls in Brazil. Gotta say I was very impressed that Sprint followed up on this problem and kept inquiring if the problem had been fixed, weeks after I called to the report the problem.
  2. For sure! The sprint tech kept saying the problem was that the iPhone didn't recognize it was out of the country. I really didn't buy it. But he was on top it it and at the end of the day he was right!
  3. So after about an hour and a half on the phone with Sprint, the problem was resolved. The wonderful technical support agent went ahead and patched apple in and they instructed me to do a factory wipe and iCloud restore after which the phone started connecting to Vivo once again. Normally I may not have cared except this was the second country/time this had happened at and I wanted to be sure the problem was not going to happen again. PS. I have had a couple of test calls that came in just fine, so that problem seems to have been fixed as well! All in all quite impressed with the Sprint customer service levels
  4. So I'm in Brazil now (again) and I'm getting "no service" since I landed. On the phone with sprint international customer service. So far they have had me do all kinds of things on my phone to no avail :-/. Unfortunately this happened when I went to Mexico in May.
  5. I've used my unlocked (from apple) 6+ in GSM networks in other countries without a problem.
  6. Something to consider is that the unlocked phones Apple sells are the sprint variant anyway. They don't charge a premium if that is a worry.
  7. Wow I really Hope they are right and the promo doesn't expire! Are you sure that there's just 2gb per line? Anyone can confirm? I've never gotten close to going over 26gb anyway so it's not a big deal... If only 2gb/line you'd think they'd fix the graph by now ( one year later )
  8. Quick question... as I mentioned on another thread, I have a family share plan with 20 gb and have the promotion that added another 20 gb (Was supposed to be 2gb per line) that adds up to a total of 40 gb. My understanding is that the additional 20 gb was a promotion that is supposed to go away? Anyone know when those additional gbs are due to go away?
  9. I went to Brazil a couple of weeks ago and data and texts worked great. I was on 3g data, but was able to do pretty much everything data wise with little issues. Here were the two issues I did encounter and I imagine these are temporary issues since it's a new offering: 1) incoming calls had issues. most people would go directly to voicemail when calling me and they would have to attempt calling me several times before going through. 2) sometimes the system would disconnect and data would stop working. I would have to then go on airplane mode and wait some seconds and then go back on the network before it would work again. All in all, i was very impressed and happy to be able to be connected while traveling abroad. taking pictures and sharing them from south america was a treat.
  10. And i just spoke two two best buy mobile stores and they indicate that I would have to get three new phones leased or on easypay... Mind you, my phones were subsidized when I got them my two year committment is up so I would think so long as I didn't get a new phone I wouldn't have to pay the $40 access per line. Currently we pay $15. So I'm not sure this is worth it. We currently pay $125 for all three lines including the access fees after the $20 discount. I may be willing to pay $15 more to get the unlimited, but i don't need a new phone... Thoughts?
  11. So I called sprint and they said it would cost $211/month to change to an unlimited family plan got the 3 lines...
  12. Anyone? Oh. Does sprint have the ability to add this, or is only though bestbuy?
  13. Do they still have an unlimited family plan? I can't seem to find it anywhere on their website. We currently have three lines on the family data share at 20 gigs. Two line use about 6 or 7 gigs and the third line barely anything. Considering switching just to have it for when they take away unlimited... We currently pay 125 after the 20% employer discount so if I understand it correctly, we'd pay $15 more/month to change. What do you all think?
  14. That's correct. You are able to call the U.S. From abroad without an international plan with sprint.
  15. This fixed it. Thanks so much!!!
  16. So I went to Brazil last week and used the new Open World plan. Worked great, except for some reason most inbound calls while in Brazil were going straight to voicemail. I called the international desk and they transfered me to a more advanced techincal support agent who opened up a ticket for the engineers. They called me back on Monday and they escalated the problem, that afternoon it seemed to have fixed itself, but I came back to the US. As soon as I landed in the states I've been havin interminent problems. When I make outbound calls I get either a "Your call cannot be completed at this time" or a fast busy signal at least 40% of the oubound calls I've been making. I've tested it and the other phones on the account are not having the problem. A ticket has been opened, but I was wondering if any of you have any clue what may be happening? Ps. this is happening regardless of the type of call I make... to att users, land lines and tmo users (at the vesry least).

  18. So out of curiosity, the promotions call it "3g data". Does this not include LTE?

  21. I know! I hadn't used one in like 15 years and then remembered that 1800 calls were free from them. They have them at Dfw right by baggage claim.
  22. AFAIK that's not an option on apple. Oh and i forgot to mention one thing... when we landed in the US, neither phone would work. I had to call Sprint tech support from a payphone, explain to them that we kept getting a message when trying to call out... something along the lines of we can't match this phone with an active account... and they had me do the ## code to update the sprint prl and that seemed to fix the problem.
